Mailbag: What do you think they should do with Collector Reserves? My ideas: 1. Remove Gold Conquest Tickets. If you are Series 3 complete the New Card Reserves turn into Mystery Variant Reserves. They have a small chance of being Premium Mystery Variants too. (very small chance) 2. Increase the amount of Tokens we get from the Token Reserves. Since the New Card Reserves are swapped out, then I think 300-500 collector's tokens would be ok, but I would like more. 3. Show us the type of Reserve we are getting instead of having to guess or keep track of it. 4. Increase the amount of credits we get on the Collector Level from 50 to 100 or more. These are kinda conservative numbers if you ask me. I just want better rewards for my time put into the game.

If everyone just accepts that, then they won't change anything, but if the player base is all on the same page with rewards needing to improve and people make enough noise, they will have to do something to improve rewards. My changes are on the conservative end of what I wish they would do honestly. My changes embraces the "more cards for more players" motto they kept saying with the Spotlight cache system. In my opinion, the real changes should either be the price of cards lowering a lot or the rewards increasing a lot. There needs to be balance. If they balance those things then everyone would win, even them. Also, if their incentive was to sell more stuff, then they would lower the price of bundles and make gold more valuable so more people would be more likely to buy more things. I know when I see a 9.99 bundle then a 99.99 bundle, I feel way more tempted to buy a 9.99 bundle than a 99.99 bundle.

Iron Lad is only a psudeo-Avenger, in that he was a founding member of the Young Avengers (along with Patriot, Wiccan, Hulkling, and Stature). But he's close enough that if they're going to exclude Spectrum as an Avenger, he can fit.

If I remember correctly, at the time lad is introduced, the Avengers are disbanded, and he decides to create the young Avengers. There's more to it than that, but that's the cliff notes

For iron lad: he literally formed the young avengers team! And worked with them/the normal avengers to defeat kang (his future self, which he did still later end up becoming)

Mailbag: Got a bit burnt out with snap and took a month off recently. Can't believe how much has changed! It made me think, is the pace of change too much for the casual player? Do you think there could be a system to help people get back in (haven't seen you in a while, here's some free tokens to come back, etc) That being said the content creators and community are what I found myself missing the most and it felt great starting my Monday with Cozy and Alex again. iron lad was a result of kang going back in time to make himself even better. but as a result, his younger self hated and resented kang for taking away his life and went back in time to defeat him. iron lad is from the 3000s and goes back to the modern day to join the young avengers. he actually has a relationship with kate bishop for a while

Do you know the aboriginal peoples territory where those mountain are? The story behind the mountain they defaced by putting faces on it? It was a sacred landmark for the first nations. As a French Native first responder, I find it disappointing that you're English. There is no excuse

I built a homebrew discard with mockingbird it uses blade, morbius, the collector, swarm, collern wing, gambit, lady sif, dracula, modok, mockingbird, apocalypse and helicarrier. It can be a really useful card to get some power if on turn three if i discarded swarm i can play them down and bring her down to 3 then if i get a good play with disgarding helicarrier it can get even lower. But it doesnt need to be played it can be a nice bonus and i am not upset if the modok takes it out if morbius is down. It can have some issues but it is great deck and it took me up from being stuck lower and up to 60-70 worth a try if you enjoy a fun discard deck

Young Avengers vol. 1 by Allen Heinberg and Jim Cheung is amazing, highly recommend picking it up if you get the chance! And judging from The Marvels post-credit scene, we’ll be seeing them enter the MCU at some point, so I’m very excited.

Mailbox: Personally, we should have been able to change the color of their names on the cards. It defeats the purpose of changing the border to any color other then the name on the card. Call it OCD but it looks whack 99% of the time as they based the name title colors 99% of the time on each of these borders. I am not sure why everyone likes to destroy the background art, especially foil . You really take away the moment the art of the character was captured in minus Alioth (the only card I found so far) where it looks nice and changes the dull blackgroubd. Also, you should be able to choose more than 1 variant at a time that will randomly be added to your decks.

I doubt Marvel would allow it. Each hero is like its own brand and brands typically do not allow modifications of their logos (written in brandbooks).

That feel good moment when I called out Alex Coccia for using Debrii with Mockingbird on stream 😅 On the topic of Mockingbird needlessly buffing Thanos, do you think changing the ability to proc only on cards with no abilities would be too much of a nerf just to remove it from Thanos' decks?

What if they combine the stones when played. Then it wouldn’t work with Mockingbird. Then the max Mockingbird bird would be discounted is 1 cost. When the stones combine the on reveal ability gets removed, but the ongoing ability stays. When stones combine they turn into the infinity gauntlet with the ability (Ongoing: Thanos gets 1 power per stone), then the power stone could get an ability change too, or just if it’s in the gauntlet Thanos gets 2 power or something.

I think pulling Venom away from Arnim Zola with Magneto is definitely one of the best feelings, or soul-reading a Blob play and hitting it with Shadow King.

I've been playing since launch and finally hit Infinite for the first time with a Mockingbird/Thanos deck

My 4 is a personal one but it’s beta ray, Thor, Jane, odin. I play with those 4 in my deck probably about 50% of the time

I wanted Ms Marvel and not Ghost Spider. God forbid they do 2 good cards in a week. Every little thing SD does now is seeming greedier and greedier to me lately.

I think with the Mount Rushmore, thanos has been around for a while, but should be cards that have been around for most of snaps life. I’d swap Thanos with Zabu or iron man. The cards that have always been there and have never fell off. Thanos hasn’t since release but he hasn’t been around forever.

MAILBAG: recently I've been trying to get better at snap as a whole, but also specific decks like Loki and silver surfer. What are some characteristics you usually see happening as you get more familiar with a deck?

Discard needs a power nerf. It had high power cards to make up for the RNG. Now it's super consistent. So many discard cards have insane power vs energy

When the event ends they should put that synergy buff on cyclops it will give cyclops actual value and would go with the theme of him being a leader

Mailbag: I really enjoyed alexs massive split video, it was really fun and there was a lot of work put into it, and I also remember that mystique split from a couple of months ago that cozy got live on the snap chat, would you guys consider doing splits on the chat in the future?

Mailbag: Would you guys support a change to the variant shop and have it rotate every 8 hours like the token shop cards rather than daily as it currently does? There are so many variants in Snap and no way to target a specific one you want it can feel so boring/draining logging in after each variant refresh just to find there's nothing you're interested in yet again. Since the number of variants is only going to increase it feels like sooner or later it will become nearly impossible to access variants you want.

I love her in patriot surfer. She is however broken. She can be a 0/9 and VERY easily. I agree she will be nerfed into the ground.

Iron Lad tends to be one of the Leaders of the young avengers. He is a version of Kang that learned about his evil future self and tries to change his fate from becoming that. His name is Nathaniel Richards and he's also a future descendant of Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic) and Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) 33:12

I dont think Iron Lad should have been put as an Avenger in this event. I dont think hes ever been a part of a main team. Iron Lad was a part of the Young Avengers. They were a team of teenage heroes who were unsanctioned at the time by the Avengers. He had come back in time to create this team in order to specifically kill himself, meaning Kang. The Young Avengers as a whole were largely unaffiliated with their Avengers counterparts, Hulkling is a half Kree half Skrull rather than a Hulk, Kate Bishop has never met Clint Barton, Iron Lad of course has no relation to Tony and is actually a young Kang, which of course makes him more related to Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm than Tony and even that is contested in canon.

Mockingbird is okay. Maybe one or two costs more that it takes a bit more effort to make her happen. But... She is not the problem. Thanos it is - stones shouldn't count. It's just too easy for him. All other decks are fine with her.

If she’s taken out of thanos decks in a nerf, she’s okay imo. That’s the only deck killing with her. If they nerf it to the ground, that once again kills Patriot which I play a lot of. I’d be pissed. Just fix the Thanos synergy without categorically killing it.

@@markthetranslator1162you and half the playerbase (myself included), and now with the iminent nerf, everyone will have wasted keys on a mediocre card that only really exists in two mediocre non-meta decks (zoo and patriot), that seems like a strategy more than anything, make people waste keys on a surprise "woopsie" card and nerf it 2 weeks after i mean, theres no way that with the "recent" colector loki change, and the quinjet interaction the devs don't know how mockingbird should interact with stones, the only answer is: they do now, they intend to change that interaction soon, but they need to make the players wast some keys to keep currency value from time to time the next "we need to make then waste keys" come in red hulk's week, he is clearly overtuned and will be nerfed to 8 base power or +3 buff, but only two weeks after its release

Mailbag: What is a unique card ability you would like to see be added to the game? For example, I want an Atlantian card to be added that has the ability "When this card is on the board it does not read as in the location" this would allow cards like Namor, Attuma, and Orka to work with some actual added power. The card should maybe be a 3-cost 4 or 5 power. It also would not proc cards like Ms. Marvel nor would it count as your 1 card in Space Throne.

It just clicked that this would also work with Galactus, so 3/5 might be too big for it. Making it so you can have 10 power on a Galactus lane may be too dangerous. Maybe 2/3 or 3/4 would be better.

I HAVE to ask: do CCs get inflated win rates? Because EVERYONE has been singing praises for Mockingbird, and on paper, she is fantastic. But she has been the absolute worst deck I've tried to make work since I've started playing. I went from 94 to 75 last week, trying vigorously to get this damn deck to get me somewhere. She works for everyone else, but I'm getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter 90% of the time I play her. I want to like her, but damn if she hasn't been giving me the middle finger this whole f'ing week

Mailbag: one of my main problems with the community of this game, is how most players are meta slaves and no one ever deck builds by their own. Gauntlet kind of fixed it because spicy brews are better there, but how do you think SD can implement a way that also the ladder will be more diverse

People like to use what is good. That is the case in every single game, especially when there is a ranked aspect. This is not a Marvel Snap issue, and I don't think there would be any way for them to fix something that is human nature. I play weird decks too man! I usually brew some off meta stuff up and use them until I see someone make a video about the deck. You'll always have an uphill battle in the snaps and retreats, but as long as you have some great surprises, it's a great way to get some huge 8 cube wins!

The best way to make the ladder diverse is to make sure every “meta” deck can be interacted with. The worst metas are the ones that have decks with no counter. Otherwise once a deck becomes the “best” you just play its counter and then it goes away and something else rotates in. The problem with thanos is there is no good counter besides thanos so you get stuck into a single deck meta. (If you have a counter deck, use it and you’ll rocket up the ladder.)

Mockingbird with a 54% win rate is only because EVERYONE is playing thanos so when someone wins with it someone else loses with it 🙄 card will be a 5/7 by the next OTA 🤦‍♂️

The perfect mockingbird change is actually shockingly easy. Keep her stats the same but change the text to "-1 cost for each of your cards in play you didn't draw" She'll still work with token cards and her fellow shield agents but it'll take her out of Thanos who really doesn't need her. Thanos is the problem, not mockingbird.

Stones need to be called tokens or something so they don't interact with cards rules.

Thanos needs a complete rework. Here's a proposal: 6/6 on reveal: if you have played all 6 stones, destroy half revealed cards on board, selected randomly. Note that this may delete cards on any side of the board.

Are you kidding me? Storm beat Cyclops for leadership of the X-men way back, Professor X is in a wheelchair from day one. The legacy virus is an allegory for AIDS and even Stan Lee admits the mutants were about civil rights. There are minorities that represent in every new team going all the way back to Lein Wen and the first new team. Sunfire, Thunderbird and Banshee in the first international X-men team. Being a mutant was also about “coming out”. Northstar was Marvel’s first openly gay character in ‘92. Later, Iceman (probably due to the implications from the first movie coming out as a mutant - mind you this was Bendis and he was prewoke with his Daredevil run, by the time he got to x-men I’d say he was pandering which is where I felt Aaron’s run with Thor got to too, Bendis also created Morales), Mystique and Destiny, Shatterstar and Richtor, Psylocke, several other New Mutants (Karma and Mirage?)… and even Daken. All gay all day, but some become monsters and need to hide in the sewers like a morlock. Betsy Braddock was also Brit turned Asian by Spiral in her mojo-shop, lol. And Box/Snowbird/Sasquatch had some transgender mind swap story going on. Still trying to figure out what X-23 is, she wasn’t first like She-hulk or Spider-woman, but she was around before the likes of Jane Foster Thor, Pepper Potts, Lionheart, Electra-devil and Spider-Gwen/pool. Siryn is the only gender swap I can think of in the mutant family. I remember when Ms Marvel was She-Thing… but that’s diverging from x-men. Although Ms Marvel was also killed by Rogue and that was how she got her permanent powers. My point is the X-men were always leading the medium with new ideas as each new generational writer added their twists and views. Didn’t one of the recent writers make an all girl X-men team? Grant Morrison (with Moore and Gaiman in their respective Vertigo titles) led the way with their thinking from the 80’s. Their ideas in the Invisibles (Lord Fanny), Sandman and the Watchmen were groundbreaking. Morrison came to X late, but broke Cyclops with Emma Frost and created the female Professor X. Imagine if Moore or Gaiman had a chance with X-men. Funnily, Angela who is pan/bi sexual, was created by Gaiman for Spawn, but due to ownership issues he donated Angela to Marvel as Thors other sister and Sera’s girlfriend. Moore on the other hand, disowned all his works… Knowing Gillen’s, Lemaire’s and Hickman’s work on Image titles, they’re not going to shy away from controversial subjects with the X-men and look forward to enjoying reading those some day. Alioth and Galactus suck. I will never play either one even once. Even if Daily Bugle or Weird World forces me to have them in my hand, I will lose 8 cubes before I play either one of them. Getting priority is not skill, throwing priority is. Anyone can simply get priority or throw Goblins. If somehow one of these two cards end up in my hand, and then Sakar forces me to play one down, then I will have no choice but to snap and give my opponent 8 as an apology. I'd rather have Trump and Biden co-president for the next 20 years than ever see another one of these two cards. There should be sister app we could download that leaves these two cards out, and also makes people play cards much quicker. That is all

Iron Lad debuted in Young Avengers, written by Allan Heinberg with art by Jim Cheung. He IS a younger version of Kang, who finds out what his future self becomes and resolves to stop him. He travels back in time to recruit a group of heroes to team up with and defeat Kang: Patriot, the grandson of the secret Super Soldier program post WW2 Isiah Bradley, Hulkling a Kree/Skrull hybrid, Wiccan the twin son of Wanda Maximoff, who has some hex powers. They're joined by Stature and Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) to form the initial team, but Iron Lad returns to the future to become Kang and his suit has Vision's AI and Vision reforms himself from the suit, but with none of his memories. The later teams feature America Chavez, Kid Loki and a few others.
