Is it though? I haven't played since Jan. Deleted the app off my devices. The thing that bugs me about this game is it reminds me of Warhammer 40K. Let me explain. I had an obnoxious number of figures in 3rd edition and when they when to 4th edition, they nerfed all the good figures and released figures you needed to buy to be competitive. You needed the 'new shinies' as it were. Snap is the same, they nerf what was powerful yesterday so you must have the cards that are powerful today in order to maintain competitiveness and to get you to spend money. I have not been happier getting rid of this game. I was curious to see the new cards for April. I know you're more conservative that Cozy, and the fact your dishing out high 4's is a clear indication this mentality at Snap HQ hasn't changed.

The surfer build with hope actually lets you play an additional 3 cost vs Sera. Hope on 3, 3drop on 4 proc Hope, 2 3’s on five, 2 3’s on six. 6 3’s total vs sera which lets you play 5 3’s total. Also hope lets you do turn 6 surfer absman while still getting 5 total 3 drops (incl surfer).

Shes immediately fitting into my Surfer deck. I always try to include a Wong and Odin combo by getting a turn 7 and using Wave to drop Odin and another 3 drop onto the Wong. Hope Summers is going to make this even better to get 7 energy for 6 to drop Wong and Surfer.

What Alex is missing in his energy math is that Sera costs 5 while Hope costs 3, but they have the same power (Hope actually has more if you consider that she gets buffed by Surfer). He's wondering how to match the 3 energy Sera saves you, but 2 of them are right there, so Hope only has to save you 1 to match Sera, and she can do better than that. That said, she does make your turn 6 less explosive, which is significant. Still, I think she has a strong chance to at least match Sera's power in Surfer decks.

@@christopherbrown2388 Also allows for turn 6 Surfer + Abs man as well so more flexible. Agree overall she will be better than Sera except have to draw by turn 3 instead of 5. Could also see both being in the deck to allow 2 ways to get the cards out.

The War Machine -> Ebony Maw is also very real. Effectively a 5/15 play, better than a Zero'd Red Skull. Plus it gives you more versatility on when to play them since they cost less compared to the Infinaut combo.

Both Cozy and Alex listed my entire gaming childhood, from kotor and ME to literally every other game. You guys rock, keep up the amazing content

34:57 The last card I've bought with tokens was a variant. Got the hulk. Can't remember what I got before then and that's been months and months. It's a struggle as a mostly f2p player to keep up with playing enough to bank the keys needed to get the cards every week. And not having an off week anymore is harder. They really should do at least 1 s4 since series drops are not going to really happen anymore.

Cozy mentioning Little Big Planet made me unbelievably happy! Been so long since I've heard someone mention it

Hah Alex that apm discussion was a blast from the past. I also trained and played Starcraft Broodwar in the early 2000s, played it competetively and everyone in Sweden was flexing their APM aswell :) I never had that high APM, averaging 150-170 across a typical game. While the pro koreans had around 400.

Haven't heard a lot of people talk about these yet but I think these three cards have potential with Pixie - Miles Morales: Move a card and he's a 1-cost regardless. - Proxima: When discarded you play her out for free so her having a higher cost doesn't matter. - Swarm: Swarm getting a higher cost also doesn't matter since you'd ideally discard it and get two 0-cost copies back. Greedy players might want the flashiness of swapping a Wasp's cost with a Magneto but even swapping a 6-cost with Miles/Proxima is a 2 energy discount which is still massive since discounted cards have historically been great in Snap. Also, Mockingbird could potentially go into Discard. The 0-cost copies of Swarm didn't start in your deck so if you discard Swarm even a single time and play out both copies Mockingbird is a 3/9. Colleen Wing and Silver Samurai allow you to target discard Swarm from your hand. Silver Samurai potentially even combos well with Stature, so you could set up a turn 6 where you play a 1-cost Stature, a 3-cost Mockingbird and a 2-drop of choice. If you get more than 2 Swarms out that gets even better. Add Moon Girl to the mix for even more discounts on Mockingbird - and to get another copy of Mockingbird/Stature/Proxima. Will it be a good deck? Probably not if you go as greedy as I'm suggesting but I think there's a fun middle ground.

44:39 you can see Mockingbird in Agents Of Shield she's Bobbi Morse. Also yeah the Half-Life series are some of the best games

I'm excited to see how Pixie's mechanic actually shakes out in live matches. I think she'll definitely make for some fun and interesting plays however, I've always been skeptical of the mechanics that have the "shuffle" word in their language. The Subterranea location states "shuffle" but everytime I draw into at least 2 rocks back to back right after it showing up.. Korg and Rock Slide state "shuffle" but those back to back rocks are literally always within my next 1-2 draws and never end up near the bottom of my deck. Maybe it's just my luck in Snap lol but I could definitely see me playing Pixie down then immediately drawing the original low cost cards that now cost 6 back to back, and none of the 6 drops that got switched w lower costs😂😂

Hope + Deadpool + Venom unfortunately doesn't work that way I believe. Deadpool does give you that extra energy, but Hope needs to stay on the battlefield in order for Hope's ability to proc.

No. With the way things like Nico and Forget and the stones work, destroyed or not her ability will still proc. Playing her into Deadpool plus venom does give you the extra energy. Then she's gone.

@@Ryuuk00Nico and Forge still work because they’re on reveal abilities. The closest comparison is Angela because she’s a triggered ability. If you bounce Angela with Beast her ability doesn’t trigger because she’s not on the board. Venom on Hope’s lane won’t trigger her ability because she’s not on the board anymore.

I think Hope as a ramp option will only really make sense in Kitty or Silk decks. The important thing to realize is that compared to other 3 cost ramps, it only benefits you on turns 5 and 6. Since ramp basically skips the first 2 turns, not doing anything meaningful on 4 is just not feasible.

Yeah the only way I’ve found to use her in a ramp deck to cheat turn four is to combo with a 0-cost on turn three, or Psylocke on turn two and a 1-cost on three. Both of these fill your deck with garbage cards and don’t even work half the time.

If you Black Swan (next turn all of your 1 cost cards cost 0), then on the following turn, play Pixie, does it shuffle the zero cost to the cards in your deck? (assuming that you have one cost cards still in your deck)

You need two effects, the Cozy Skip and the Cozy Snag. The card that's most skipable and then your 5star of the month card. Bells ringing and lights popping etc.

For Hope Summers in a Silver Surfer deck, a really simple but effective line of play would be: > T3: Summer. > T4: Play something on Summer OR Summer + 1-drop on top of her. > T5: x2 3-drops (set-up). > T6: x2 3-drops (finishers). So you are playing an extra 3-drop compared to the usual T5 Sera, before even accounting for the fact that you can of-course keep playing cards on top of Summers to make an even stronger T5 and T6 playlines.

The thing with Pixie is that you can no longer predict your opponent's play. That's golden

I would rank the new season Mockingbird > Hope > War Machine > Pixie > Cannonball, but yeah, it's going to be quite a meta shift in March. If Hope is anywhere near as popular as Ms. Marvel, I do wonder how that changes the value of cards like Cosmo or the Guardians in response.

I think Mockingbird will be lower than that. Due to they have to be in play. I think War Machine will be the top card of the month. Being able to play anywhere is just really powerful with locations and current meta. It can also bring goose back where you can shut down someone's lane.

Naw. I think cards like Mockingbird, Miles Morales, Stature are the bonus they are giving. I doubt they will do the traditional style bonuses like that. But.... Who knows what year three will bring.

This is probably gonna be the most insane meta shift since Loki got released.

the thing about Iron-Man based cards is always about aiding a card Iron-Heart and Hulk Buster aids your card's power Iron-Man and Iron-Lad aids your deck combo Rescue and War Machine aids pinning down a location

I am a new player (cl 470) do you guys think I should rush to level up to try and get modok? Or do I not have enough time?

You can play Mockingbird on turn 1 theoretically if you get the rocks all on your side from that 1 location lol

Hope Summers is a must have, Pixie looks fun even if she might not be great plus I still need MMM and Spider-Ham from that week, and War Machine is going to lead to some crazy shenanigans. Mockingbird looks really solid but I won't have the keys to get her and Cannonball seems alright but very skippable.

Hope gives us hope to play her uncle Havok no problem. Even there is Sandman, Sunspot gonna be BIG with those unspent enegy.

I’ve been playing a Shanna/Dazzler kind of a deck for the past week. Making use of that beautiful Artgerm variant for Dazzler and Mockingbird is gonna be so welcomed in that deck.

Goose could also be a Monster of a Card with War Machine to stop your Opponent to drop some 4/5/6 Costs card with high power on the Goose Location

In Mass Effect I absolutely agonized over killing the Geth, or saving the Krogan. I put my controller down and paced around my living room for like 5 minutes before deciding. I cured the Krogan…to this day I’m still not sure if I made the right decision. Sorry, I know this is a Snap video, but they brought it up!😂

Btw, Alex didn't see the playline for Surfer and Hope Summers, which is fine (!) he's more of a hands-on tinkerer, but here it is: Turn 3 Hope Summers Turn 4 any card on Hope Turn 5 = 6 Power for 2x3 cost, 1 played on Hope Summers Turn 6 = 7 Power for 3 cost + Absorbing Man (or even Iron Lad if that's your deck) You are 50/50 to have Hope on Turn 3 so it's not like you're building the whole deck around her, and unlike Sera she's a 3-cost. Crystal is sub-sub-optimal but in a Hope + Surfer deck, her value definitely increases. (I still don't want to give my opponents a card, I'm just saying that this is one deck she is not outright terrible in.)

March is off to a great start! Pixie and Hope both feel strong, the meta is once again shaken, btw, BOUNCE IS BAAACK

Honestly considering the statline and effect of hope a small buff to electro would be justified. 3/4 power electro would propably not be a problem where every ramp card is either 5 or 4 power

Cozy, War Machines ability fits his character cause ... hes a war machine and lets you assault each lane no limitations think about it, he turns ur hand into a metaphorical war machine

War machine absolutely looks like a card that will be nerfed to the ground 2 weeks after release just like elsa or wearwolf by night or even worse

Question for the mail bag: what would you guys think of a card that had the ability to pull the card that bounced back into your hand back on the board? So when falcon sends the 1 cost cards into your hand that card would grab it and pull it to its location

so now that the pool of series 4 and 5 is so oversaturated will they finally do series drop or will it still be pay 2 play 😮

For Surfer and Hope - Hope allows 2 3 drops on turn 5 instead of just Sera, then can drop surfer + abs on turn 6. So much better imo than Sera. Still get 3 3 drops down, and Abs man on top.

My War Machine dream is Storm/Legion INRE Pixie, you think Quicksilver and Domino will have a place?

People won't be playing Warmachine as much as you think. People don't play Legion or Quake or Cosmo or Shadow King. Not enough that Professor X will be unplayable. Give it the month and he'll be with the rest of the tech cards collecting dust.

@@Ryuuk00 Really underselling him if you're only looking at him as a tech card. Hope>WM>Infinaut will be a very strong playline regardless of anything else it ends up doing. Ebony Maw becomes a really good card with him cause now you can just play him whenever you get the chance to, whether playing into his lane, or playing him after WM. Sure, you can use it to counter Prof X, (though, who's even playing him these days?), and storm etc., but he's gonna be used as an aggressive card that can double as tech. Not gonna say that means he's omg the best card ever, but there's no way he fades into obscurity like those other 4.

Mobius/rogue is never leaving my deck this whole season

Is this the revival of kitty pride? I call it, Kitty's Hope. Turn 1 kitty. turn 2 Angela. turn 3 Hope. turn 4 Kitty + 3 cost of your choice. Turn 5 Kitty + Sera. Turn 6 is miracle turn +1 extra energy from hope. unless it's 1 energy per unit played, then you have +2 energy to play with on turn 6 on top of Sera's reduction.

Mockingbird was such a slept on card and I'm glad she's finally getting talked about. Sure. She's a boring card. No deck is going to build around Mockingbird. But at 4/9 she's on par with Cull Obsidian that trades 1 Power to be immune to Shang-Chi. At 3/9 she's a stronger and risk-free Gladiator. And she keeps going. Only getting better and better the more a deck exploits her ability. She's hands down, without contest, the best stat/Power stick (so far) in Marvel Snap. I would be surprised if Mockingbird doesn't get nerfed for that reason. Even at 5/8 or 5/7, the decks that would take her all the way down to 0 by just playing normally (e.g. Thanos/Moongirl/Dino/Agents/Patriot) are going to get her Power for free regardless. It's the decks that can reduce her down to 4-3-2 cost without trying or just by throwing in a Squirrel Girl as their 1-cost and looking to play Mockingbird for sheer value... That might make her problematic at such high Power.

Thank you for shouting out about card acquisition, guys. It's not negative to be a constructive critic. I ❤ the idea of including the pool 4 card.

I don't think enough people are talking about this but you guys kinda touched on it on this episode. Is it possible to gain and maintain collection complete anymore without being at least a dolphin? I have planned my collection-complete (approximate) date since like November. I bought very carefully, skipped weeks where I knew the card would be back in caches soon. Next week with Man-Thing I finally get there but with the extra release each month this year it's cost me SO MUCH extra in tokens. I have spent 6k a week for almost a month now but have the keys ready for next week though. Might have enough for the following week. I buy every season pass, have done since late 2022, I buy a few cash bundles too. I now find that I genuinely need to get lucky to maintain collection completion into April. Before these recent changes I should be ready to stay complete for months if not permanently post-March. I get that they want to make it hard but I think they may have made it impossible without buying an expensive bundle every month. Love the show guys, watch/listen every week since the first. Keep it up. 😁

War Machine: Nothing can stop you playing cards anywhere? Except available energy, surely.

Forget who mentioned this but just imagine if you will playing a very simple Pixie Destroy deck with only like Zola and Knull as 6 drops and the rest just the usual 1,2,3 cost destroy cards so you just almost guarantee the Knull and Zola become low cost. They can only swap with each other or all low cost cards. And hitting each other is a very low chance.

Thanos with Hope should be nice with all moving possibilities of Jeff, stone, Vision and generate energy for big plays.

How you guys feel about the alioth Guardian deck to counter Hope Summers, but add JEAN GREY which counters what Hope does? Guardian and the alioth deck?

My ratings: Hope Summers: Super strong, 4 or 4.5 Pixie: Hard to evaluate but.. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say 2.5-3.5 in that range. Mockingbird: Extremely strong. Easily 4.5. Cannonball: Realistically he's a 2 War Machine: Extremely strong. Easily 4.5. Let's see what ends up happening. This season will be craziness. Edit: In terms of my power level rankings, I'll say: Mockingbird 1 (could be War Machine too), War Machine 2, Hope 3, Pixie 4, Cannonball 5.

Since (FOR ME) I CAN'T get the 3+ keys / week to get "the card". Games felt bad feeding me variants of owned cards. Please give me a choice!

You can play two 3's on turn 5 with Hope and those 3s are more power than just a Sera on 5, even without counting Surfer buffs. Then on turn 6 you can play two 3s and a 2 drop.

2 questions 1- which one between hope and war will be nrfd first? 2- will they ever give a serious series drop?

I think a nasty combo with Hope Summers that yall didn't touch on was use wasp same turn to get 5 energy turn 4 and with that there's so many combos. You can pro x, or Nimrod. Just some thoughts.

I have played since release. I think, of allllll the things that have made me crazy in this game, the featured location of “the peak” was one of the worst. I totally see pixie as a mini peak bomb, and while I’m excited for cards that flip things on their head, I think this could get really old really fast.

Yondu is going to see a massive increase in play, going to need to take out some of these cards before they can be used!
