Why are people always saying, Anyone listening in (present year) ? As long as you're still digging the band, why do you need to know if anyone else is still in the same boat? I still listen to tons of music years later, but I don't need to ask if the bands are still relevant, because I think they are still great. Haha, sorry but I guess I'm just tired of watching the same comments everywhere.

I had the pleasure of meeting Pat DiNizio, Jim Babjak and Dennis Diken. Three truly great guys who love music, love each other and their fans. RIP Pat you will always be missed. Thank you for excellent songs such as "A Girl Like You" A true Rock and Roll classic.

The thing that always got me about The Smithereens was I use to picture them as reasonable young dudes in their early 20s. (I had only really heard their music) But they were guys in their mid 30s who beat expectations and got popular on the college/alt rock radio at the time. Goes to show your never too old to beat expectations.

I got to chat with Pat too , back around 2000 , he had a website called “Psycholaberations”. The idea was , you’d send him some lyrics , and for 300 bucks , he’d write and record you a song and send it back on a CD. I talked to him a few times , but I never did send him anything , in retrospect , I wish I did.. RIP Pat.

The best video by one of the best bands to come out of America in the 1980's. Only these guys and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in the USA, Dire Straits in England, U2 in Ireland and AC/DC out of Australia kept Rock and Roll alive in this barren era after punk. The Smithereens were always underrated, and Pat's lyrical voice underscored by heavy metal rhythm has never been duplicated.
