One of the most creative drummers I've seen. Creativity is a skill. His playing in most of their songs are not just in the pocket but also interesting to listen. I create music too and a drummer in a band and it is really not that easy to make songs perfect and sound NOT boring. But at the same time, don't over think and just let the music flow. Change things here and there then get over. Just like how it is better for Mix Engineers to mix the song faster. It's not how fast you finish though, it's about NOT losing that target sound in your head that makes sense for the song.

Travis is that rare drummer who consistently plays solidly but with flair at the same time. Do people who call him mid even play music? If they can only recognise drummers who are always showing off or playing weird, I question whether they even really hear the drums in music.
