For some reason, despite the dated graphics, sims 1 and 2 seems to feel more alive than sims 4

Couldn’t agree more. Sims 1 remains my favorite of them all for this reason. Sims 2 is second fave.

The ambient sounds, the footsteps, the sounds appliances make combined with no commentary makes for such a calming, almost ASMR like experience 🪄🔮😌

I agree, but somehow I made it work as a kid with my imagination 😂 I thought the Mashuga’s house was the absolute coolest.

omg sims 1 cc! I remember thinking it was so beautiful and realistic lol. Makin' Magic is still the GOAT to me.

So true. Even the little click for making selections. Every little noise is nostalgic for me. It’s ingrained in who I am at this point 😂

Sims 1 is the best, i am happy to see people getting back into it. It's really cool when people actually enjoy it but it's always fun to cause chaos... ;)

Ah yes this is what ive been wanting to see modded sims 1 I do have to say i love the downtown design, lively and rustic. The bickering chefs, the lute players, the country accent tea parlor, the farmers market, the iron garden furniture it is all so good! ❤ It would be cool to see some more of her outfits in New episodes

I don't really know how to describe "soulful" but I know it when I see it. There's a charm to these early games that I don't think can ever be recreated.

Couldn’t agree more. This era of games really is special and it’s hard to appreciate it if you’re accustomed to more modern games 🥲 so many of my friends wonder how I could like sims 1 more than the later sims because they consider it more restrictive. I think it’s more imaginative though u_u

It always gives me a fuzzy feeling inside when people still use cc created from decades ago… like I wonder if the cc creators back then know that their creations are still being downloaded to this very day

Because it's quite simple graphically, it runs fine in a windows XP virtual machine. Unlike sims 2 which is too much for a VM.

This is weird. Because Makin Magic was the last The Sims game that includes all previous. I even have it on CD. So, seeing complete collection doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe I bought pirated version back then, when I was a child, that includes all previous packs with just Makin Magic title and picture on cd sheet. Anyway, love Sims content 💜

@@Paramurasaki oh how weird, I’ve never heard of that either lol! I actually bought all the expansion CDs when I was a kid too, but then they came out with the complete collection (which was still a main disc with several other discs needed during installation) so that made all the expansion discs obsolete. When you’re playing the base game with all the expansion discs, it becomes to where the most recent expansion disc (I think that may have been Makin Magic?) becomes your main playing disc. Maybe it’s that but idk! It is a mystery of the past now 👀
