Sims 1 is will right's vision of a doll house simulator Sims 2 is improvements of that idea in a 3d basis Sims 3 is improvements of that idea in a open world basis, but already lost much of the little details Sims 4 is not a doll house simulator. It is rather a "Sims game" of a franchise. Not a vision by a man with his ideas put in, but just a reurgitation of that idea over and over until none of the original is left.

Once when I was a kid, I built a floating house above a pool accessible only by teleporters. I got a dog but put his food on the upper floor and didn't realize he couldn't teleport, and unknowingly saved mere seconds before he starved to death. I kept restarting and desperately trying to save him, and ended up waking up my mom crying because of it. Probably explains a lot about how resistant I am to letting my sims die now

God, I have so many good and bad memories about the sims 1, I remember I had livin large, and because my pc was very weak, The game would crash when a sim died, I had a sim live in a mansion and it was my favourite family, until I saved the game exactly when someone died in there, and then I was stuck, and it kept crashing when I visited that mansion, Looking at the mansion from map view and never coming back to see it, I know I could've evicted the family, but did I know that back then? N O. That mansion still haunts me

I had a similar situation with a Sim at a vacation destination. They were at a resort and when I tried to get them out of there the game crashed. So they're still there to this day lol. And there was a bug where they changed into a bath towel and I couldn't change them back into normal clothes. Or they were stuck in a pizza box.

I'm so glad these type of videos exist. I was starting to think I had simply outgrown The Sims because I find the 4th one so bland, dull and boring. Seeing this reminds me why I used to LOVE The Sims. It used to be quirky, weird, funny and full of little details that made the game really fun to play. It seems like they took away all of that in the new game. It is a pretty game yes but that's about it. It's like an empty shell, there is just no gameplay or depth to it.

This made me miss the raunchiness in The Sims, also the NPCs who come in just to do their thing, seeing Claire the bear going about her day was always a treat and The Sims deserves all the credit it can get on the Sims franchise remaining a life simulation with a sprinkle of nonsense. Loved this video!

Great video. There were many facts even I didn't know, and some I have featured in my channel at one point. Anyway, about the fact 50. The Sims 1 also is the only game where children can be zombies. Zombies can be cured by Miss Lucille, a palm reader that appears in Old Town near mask and candle stands. She can also fill the family needs to the max. Claire the Bear should also react to stuffed bears (or that is what I've read). She may also raid bees for honey and get chased away by bees. With beanstalks, it seem like how high they grow is randomly set when they spawn. I remember SimsVIP trying to get one grow. After getting many on her sims' lot but being able to climb one, she eventually resorted to mods... Oh, and lastly, telescopes improve children's school grades (they can also get abducted by aliens). While children can't build skills, they get randomly assigned skill points. You can't see them in-game, but in address books (in game files). Also if you create a child and edit him or her into an adult in CAS, that adult sim will start off with some skill points.

The thing I really love about The Sims is how the references, jokes, puns etc, are adapted for the many languages and regions

It was all so creativr and had so much heart, back in the TS1 days. We are so luckt we still can go back to the game and enjoy it after all these years.

I always liked the "spiciness" of TS1 and TS2. They were clearly made for teens and adults, and that's what made them fun. Let's be real...TS3 was only interesting because it had an open world. And, TS4 is just a goddamn snooze-fest because there's no real danger or any interesting consequences. I miss the days where sims could die unexpectedly from damn near anything.

Watching this video, it really makes me appreciate the sims 1 much more than before. The care, the love, the attention to detail, even if the game is basic in a lot of places compared with the sims 2 or 3. And it really shows you how much care Maxis used to give to their games, and how ea games ruined the company.

The Sims 1 will always hold a special place in my heart. It was my first PC game and my first Life Simulation game, and I had a lot of good times playing it. Even though things have been updated, expanded, and added on by the other games, nothing will beat how much The Sims had from interesting NPCs that appeared every now and then to its humor, from the prank calls to the scary ass music that played when a burglar appeared. Ah, to be a child again and watching the opening cinematic for the first time :')

Ahh good memories playing this game with a friend when we were kids and it was already dark outside. We always designed the houses in the same way, the families were always perfect with two or three children. The character points for friendly to the maximum level. One day our sim got abducted and we panicked and didn't save the game and removed the telescopes from all the lots. The Sims was such a great game

I loved picking up prank calls! That meant potentially free money! If you turn the flamingos real during a party, people will flirt with them. It was funny watching Drew Carey get slapped by the women at your party! I miss the spiral staircases of Sims 1! This was the best Sims!

I am so glad I was able to experience all the Sims games in their time. I still play the Sims 1 when I have that nostalgia creeping up on me but with video games having "evolved" to what they are now, the Sims 1 may not look like much and can feel boring overall but at the same time too intense at times. However you have to look at it having in mind the year it was released and for that time it was amazing. I still remember my excitement back then, feeling with this game you could do anything. And I still enjoy listening to the soundtrack. I also remember you could rent all the packs at the video rental store and have all the content playable even after you gave the CDs back if you physically had the newest one because you only needed the CD from the newest pack to be able to play. Lifehack back then :D

In the uk we have very clean tap water, very few people have a water filter of any kind. We just drink straight from the tap. It’s not uncommon for people to drink straight from the tap while abroad without thinking about it, this usually results in horrific diarrhoea. We call it “Montezuma’s Revenge.” I don’t know if it’s just a UK thing but that’s what we’ve always called it. The worst Montezuma’s revenge I got was in Texas. America has really bad regulation on their tap water, so in some places it’s totally safe and then on the other hand you’ve got flint Michigan. I was just outside of Dallas, the whole time I was being really careful. We were at a restaurant and I had just eaten a salad. Unfortunately all the lettuce was cleaned with tap water. Halfway through my main course I felt it Montezuma was coming. The next few days I was living on Imodium and flushable wet wipes. Montezuma’s Revenge is no joke.

I remember that one of the premade households was these two women in a circular shaped house (looked it up, it was "the roomies" household placed in that pink octagon house in neighborhood 2). They had a hot tub in the yard. I made them "play" in it and then there was a phone call and a baby 😂 they also started kissing and holding hands. I had no idea what was happening but I was so happy for them.
