The simplest bar clamps you can make
These are probably the simplest bar clamps you can make. And they are also very easy to use. This panel clamps are very useful to glue the boards we may need in our woodworking projects. So, sure this is the simple bar clamp you are looking for. You can watch how to make more homemade woodworking clamps and other diy shop projects in my woodworking channel.

I appreciate you sharing your Bar Clamp instructions with us.... What a great way to clamp up a top or other thick items..... It's very cheap to make and easy to build..... Thank You!
Absolute Genius Sergio! This is one of the best projects I've seen and one of the next I will make. It's ideal for building panels for my beehives. Being more familiar with inches than metric, I converted your measurements. So, for anyone else that would prefer to do so: Boards 26.75" long (actually, as long as you need), ripped on the centerline to make 2 pieces 1.5" X 1.75" less your saw kerf. Holes are 3/8", first one at 1", 9 more at 2.75" ea, leaving 1" past the last hole. It "should" be better to stack two boards for drilling and then drop a 3/8-16 x 6" Carriage Bolt into the first hole drilled. I believe this will eliminate the problem of hole misalignment. After drilling, re-drill the top boards with a 13/32 bit if you have one, or just hog them out with the 3/8" bit so the bolt is loose in the hole as Sergio did. Wedges are from a 1X4 and 6" long. Finally, I'll make a couple of pieces shaped like a ladies beach hat, about 4" long and 1.5" wide, drilled in the hat "crown" for a loose fit on the end bolts and placed behind the glue-up. it will distribute the pressure and not leave screw marks on the job. I'll make these from Baltic Birch, same thickness as the job stock.
The best, and very well explained, video on shopmade bar clamps so far!
One of the smartest woodworking ideas on KZread. Cost saving, effective, and easy. Thank you. I will definitely make them!

You my friend have a way of giving instructions so that I can understand what you are doing and I can copy your wonderful jigs.
Simple, cheap, and exactly what I was looking for a description of how to make. Thanks.
the best thing about this clamp is, it has 2 sides, top and bottom so you can press the board equally from all sides. I just made this one today and gonna try it out tomorow, thanks sergio ! :D tips, if you have wider board just make 3 or 4 clamps like this so you can have the max result
Thanks Sergio. Great Idea, I'll have to give these a go for some of my projects. Nice work !

I'm glueing together a workbench table-top and didn't want to spend huge amounts of money on a couple of clamps that I'll use 2 times in my life. This is a real money saver and I'm sure this is just as good! Also it squeezes the boards on both dimensions! Very smart! Thanks :)
Nice idea Sergio. I like it
I will try these clamps, makes sense to me to do it that way - thank you !
Perfect! Bravo!
I've been looking for a cheap but effective alternative for expensive bar clamps and have seen your other videos on the subject. they have given me several ideas for my own designs. thanks for posting them.
Just a idea for you, the next time you go to make a set of these clamps. After you make the marks where you are going to drill the holes for the bolts to come through, double the boards up & secure them with either some tape or F-clamp & then drill the hole. That way you are sure to have matching bolt holes! That way you save on your drill time & effort in making them. So, basically drill both pieces at the same time. 😁 Thank you for posting the how-to make video!!
Great idea Sergio. Muchas Gracias. Really simple idea but so useful once you see it. Good on you for sharing.
Brilliant idea I love it ..... thanks Anthony
Perfect for what I'm going to do in which I was thinking of long darn clamps, thanks for the idea. :)
excellent idea and that gives me an idea for other similar clamps
That was amazing. You are a genius!
Great idea, keep them coming Sergio!
Nicely done.....I like that it keeps the edges tight and the top kept level. Bravo!
That's great ingenuity. Honestly, I'm impressed.
Very effective and inexpensive. Also a good use of the various left over pieces from other projects. An excellent idea for the average do-it-yourself woodworker with limited funds. Easy to store, lightweight and very flexible. I especially like the ability to apply pressure in both the 'x' and 'z' directions. Also very simple to spread the pressure by adding additional clamps. I will definitely be adding several sets of these clamps to my workshop clamp supply. One can never have to many clamps. Thanks for sharing your good idea. Nice job producing the video also.
Thank-you for making things simple.
Eres un genio Sergio!! Gracias!

Excellent! I will try this. Thank you!
I'm very short on bar clamps, but who ever has enough! I've been looking at several good videos on making "traditional" bar clamps and I was going to make some. Your idea is ingenious! I will be making several with different lengths. Thanx for the good videos you're producing.
Las ideas geniales casi siempre son sencillas, Gracias hombre!
Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely going to make some of these simple clamps.
fantastic!!!! thanks so much I have used them!!!
This is cheap and very efficient! I really love it, very helpfull
Thank you for posting. I made mine yesterday for a project and they worked out perfectly. I made mine with a few changes. The bars were shaped into tapered cauls so when bolted down on the ends, the bars flatten out the boards. I also added pivot blocks to the bolts, so that only one wedge was required to tighten. I used a 10mm drill bit for 3/8" diameter bolts, which provided just enough wiggle room for the bolts to be inserted. Next improvement will be adding rotating feet to the bottom of the lower bar so they stand up and can be stored away easily. Thank you again.

Question. Did you taper both the top and bottom bar, or just the top??? I was thinking the same, for a panel about 4 wide, but was thinking the bottom bar should be flat.
Brillante, Thank you
This is so good. Thanks for posting.
