THE SIGHT & THE SOUND 6-1/7 : Malev TU-154 HA-LCV cockpit documentary from Munich to Budapest
This inflight documentation is more than 13 years old and features the first part of a flight in the cockpit onboard Malev Hungarian Airlines TU-154B-2 from Munich to Budapest in the last month of operation. End of March 2001 the Malev TU-154 were retired and became history. After that Malev operated no more Soviet built aircraft.
This flight was taped with Mini DV cassettes.
I therefore apologize for the poor video quality and hope that you still can capture the feeling of what it was like to fly in the cockpit onboard a Malev TU-154.

Azért volt erő ebben gépben.. Álló helyzetből itt a videón 17másodperc alatt gyorsul 200km/h-ra. És közel 100 tonna.

Durfte man da einfach so gucken mit Anmeldung? Heutzutage leider undenkbar :( Klasse Video! PS: Ich selbst besitze zwei Tupolev 154 - leider nur als 1:200 Modelle. Eine von Cubana mit Originalregistrierung und eine von Vnukovo Airlines. Will noch eine von Aeroflot haben.
Thanks for this great video! I'am Hungarian, so for me it was an extra pleasure to listen, how was the crew working. May I ask how did you manage to get into the cockpit?

@@sightsandsoundsofaviation Why were you flying four times that day?
2:36 Are these two tubes for fuel dumping?

These are static wicks. As the aircraft moves through the air, it generates static electricity which builds up in the airframe. These static wicks discharge the aircraft, since a large static charge can interfere with radios and other systems, and is a general nuisance.
Which two tubes?
