And Brian was worried that the notes were going to be too much for Freddie because he was so ill and offered to rewrite the notes to be less strenuous and Brian said, Freddie downed a vodka and said "Ill fucking do it darling" and this track was done in one take...hit every note.

Some fun facts: this song was written by brian (guitarist) and it was kind of written about the situation Freddie was in, he was battling AIDS and he was very weak, could barely stand but always went to the studio until the end. Brian was scared that he could not do it but he said "I'll fucking do it darling" took a shot of vodka and nailed it in one take. This was just a put together of their videos after Freddie passed in November 24 of 1991. You should listen to mother love, is part of their last album with Freddie, is the last song Freddie ever recorded, couldnt be finished. Fred said he was very tired but sadly passed away so the last verse was sang by Brian. It was recorded a few months before he passed and even though he couldn't even breath well or do much anymore, they (the band) had to go to Freddie's home to write and record because freddie just cared about his music, he kept telling Brian "write me lyrics , write" and he nailed this too. Also, you should watch Live Aid, queen stole the show there, over 70,000 at Wembley and more than 100,000 watching including at JFK stadium in Philadelphia. The best artists were there , queen was a surprise since they got in last minute but Elton john told Freddie "you bastards stole the show" and after it some of them didnt even want to go on stage because they couldnt top that. It is declared the best performance in rock history. Hope you enjoy this info, love your videos, happy holidays!

Freddie and Queen recorded this absolutely beautiful song a mere nine months before Freddie tragically passed away. The song is about his battle with AIDS and his refusal to stop singing and recording no matter how much he hurt or was sick. Freddie was a fantastic singer and songwriter and is deeply missed by all of his fans. As for his videos, watch all of them lol. Queen did not come out with a bad song, all of them are magnificent. RIP Freddie Mercury!!!

  • @bettybaby63

Brian wrote this, although it’s credited to the band. According to Brian: When it was time to record the track (the show must go on), Freddie could barely stand. ‘I said, “Fred, I don’t know if this is going to be possible to sing,”’ Brian told Rolling Stone. And he went, “I’ll fucking do it, darling” -vodka down -and went in and killed it.’ Freddie would not talk about his illness, but he was putting it out there in the music. ‘Songs like “The Show Must Go On”, in my case, or “These Are the Days of Our Lives’, in Roger’s case, were things that we gave to Freddie as a way of him working through stuff with us,’ said Brian. ‘The Show Must Go On’ did not stint on the drama or the directness of its message.

The cross dressing and “cow” is from “I Want to Break Free” Written by bassist John Deacon about women’s liberation. Drummer Roger Taylor thought up the idea of dressing in drag to parody a very popular British show called “Coronation Street”. Freddie dancing with the Royal Ballet. MTV banned it in the US because they were a bunch of prudes who didn’t get the joke. It’s especially great live (as are 90% of their songs) because they strongly believed in crowd participation. Freddie is quoted as saying that they were entertainers, otherwise “We could just put out cardboard cutouts and play the track”.

Innuendo is my favorite album, but probably a close second is "Its a Kind of Magic" which is more or less the soundtrack album to the movie Highlander. Two of my favorite Queen music videos are off this album: the title track (Its a Kind of Magic) and "Princes of the Universe" (mostly movie clips, but creatively intertwined with shots of the band). And of course the song "Who Wants to Live Forever" is also on this album which is a classic. If you really want to see how good of a vocal range Freddie had, check out his solo project with an OPERA SINGER montserrat caballe. They did a whole album of half rock half opera songs called "Barcelona".

The song you should do is "I want it all". You had to have heard it (but didn't realize it was Queen) the "Drag" Freddie was "I Want to Break Free". Both worth doing.

The sad thing is that this song was released in October 19 91 and Freddie Mercury died The very next month! There had been some rumors that Freddie Mercury was sick and the tabloid said that he had aids blah blah blah but they didn’t have any proof of anything. He did look thin in January or February 1990 and that was his last public appearance aside from going to the doctor. There was a grainy photograph of Freddie Mercury walking with his doctor outside on the sidewalk and the tabloids posted how ill he looked and it was not a good picture but he didn’t look sick. He really looked exhausted. Later that year in 1998 they were given another Award for being one of the greatest contributions to British music award and Freddy was wearing a white blue suit and this beautiful white scarf and he had a freshly shaven face and no mustache. He really didn’t look any different than he did three or four months before but he wore a navy blue suit and had a little bit of a beard but he was still about the same weight. That light blue suit and shaven face just made him look thinner and that’s when people started talking more. Many other people in 1989 and 1990 didn’t think anything about queen not touring because they were in their 40s and they had plenty of money and didn’t need to tour and as long as they were hearing the hits and making number one albums, most people didn’t think that anybody was ill- even Freddie Mercury. Honestly when I saw him at that British awards ceremony when he was wearing that white roly suit I figured he had cancer. They went to Montreux to do their last album together. “innuendo “.. that way they were away from the British press. They got the Album done but it took like a year to finish it because it Friday having aids and his health was deteriorating. They released the miracle which was this beautiful video around March 1989 and then they released I want it all and an awesome song and video in May 1989. I thought Freddy looked fine but he had a little bit of a beard and not the big fluffy mustache that he used to have. He looks good even though he did look like he was down about 10 or15 pounds. Freddie was the skinny guy in the 1970s so I didn’t think anything about it. He told the band he had aids after they finished doing the miracle album about August 1989 and that was about the same time he told Mary the truth. He never said anything to his parents and he told his sister about a year before he died. That’s when his parents found out but he never told his parents that he was bisexual or gay or anything. Mary Austin who had been his girlfriend and fiancé for six years said that Fred‘s parents were conservative Zoroastrians, but she knew that they would’ve loved him and accepted him the way he was. His mom, Jer, was videoed before her death in 2002 or three and she said that they were always proud of Freddy and then he loved and respected them so much but that she kind of knew- like she kind of knew he was gay but she wasn’t sure. And she said that she didn’t think about it at all in the 70s but she did by the 80s. They just never discussed it because Freddy was always so respectful and kind to them and so very generous. He was generous to people that used him. Mary would call them out on their bullshit and she would tell Freddie, “ those people don’t care about you”. She told him that those people were using him for his status and his gifts and his money! She called power to truth and you know he started acting funny in 1975 and they didn’t break up until 1976 or late in 1976. He was cheating on her for a year and a half or almost 2 years. He was seeing some guy named David Mimms & he got an apartment with David in London away from the house he had with Mary and Mary said he was coming in late at night. He wasn’t acting right and they hadn’t been together physically in so long and he wasn’t one with himself. She said finally one night he came home earlier and he just had to tell her and the reason why is because his boyfriend David gave him an ultimatum to break up with her or he was leaving the relationship with Fred. Mary said that she was in the kitchen and Fred came into the kitchen and told her that he was sleeping with a man and Mary said she was so naïve that it took her a while to grasp it. She couldn’t believe that he had her food for so long but he told her he hadn’t been like that before 1975 and that was about the time Bohemian Rhapsody was being worked on but before it was released. So that’s how she knew he had been cheating on her for two years☺️. After he told her he had been sleeping with a man she looked right at him and she said, “ so.... you’re telling me you’re gay?” And she said he just gave her this big grin. She was like oh my God. She stayed in their house until the end of the year when he bought her an apartment right next-door right down the street from him and they remain friends very very close. Mary said that she was going through a lot of stuff herself and it wasn’t just Friday and some of it was her. He was just far more dismissive of her than she was of him. She said after that they broke up he was totally happy and at one with himself and she said it was so good to see him be like that again. They had always been close but they got to be much much closer and they were even like family and Marie was like the house mother. She would come over to the house to make sure everything was going OK with Freddy about every week and she was always checking out his friends and staff and she told him when somebody was using him. He was so charitable he would give away crap to anybody and when he’d have a party even pay for water and booze and drugs and he wasn’t into drugs so much but he definitely did drink but he was a lightweight so he couldn’t drink much😂😂😂

#Challenge “Mother Love”, lyric video. The last song Freddie recorded, but was too sick to sing the final verse (Brian sings it) The official version is paired up with some stupid sci-fi video. It really distracts you from the heartbreaking song.

The scenes that show him with a beard were the last ones done. He had an aids related sarcoma on his face and grew the beard to hide it. He didn't announce his illness to the public until the day before he died.
