Excellent overview. Thank you for making this updated video so quickly. Definitely will add this to my list of projects. The radio controlled relay might also be useful for other applications I have in mind. 👏👏👍😀

Ah ! I used one to remote switch the workshops exterior lighting. That way I can walk to the house and switch off the lights. No tripping over squirrels that way 😁

Interesting system. I must put some welding fume extraction in my shed.

You and me both Ben. The tig is OK but when I break the stick set out things get foggy 🙂

Happy mistake for us. I have likewise had a thought like this. I used a similar approach with a Owens Corning blow in insulation machine. Fifty or so feet of hose had a radio control for the installer to get in position. That did nothing for the feeding of bags of material … LOL. That required a very reluctant assistant (my son) while the old man combat crawled into the dark recesses of the attic. That design is so clean and answers so many issues - well done. I absolutely hate dragging my chunky puppy shop vac around almost as much as the look I get from my wife when chips follow me indoors. No apology seems to work when she gets one in her bare foot….. 😬. Selfishly, I do like chips to go elsewhere while milling or turning. I have repaired our robot vacuum many times and thought what a great idea for the shop. Alas, its design would make it about 3 feet and fall into chaos and speed toward oblivion on the scrap heap. When I eventually migrate to a new shop space this will be in my short list for gotta have items. Right up there with radiant floor heat and yes a proper lift for my Volvo’s. Burning my creeper will be a happy day. All the best Dan

If you go for it Dan, install a cyclone before the vacuum. That's my next step. Emptying a bucket is better than messing with the machine and its filters. Cheers Neil

Thanks for the kind comment Paul. I need to get rid of some items to make space for the new mill. After which I'm thinking about making and fitting a cyclone separator so no more vacuum bags then. My little Zyto lathe must get sold first though. Bit sad, but space is needed

Thanks Michel. It's just so convenient having a vacuum point over every machine and bench 😊
