I looked into what happened after the show and the company now makes $5 million annually, still largely in Japan. Philipp was able to get the approval from his fiance's parents and they got married last year.

I think its because he comes from struggle. People forget that he is an immigrant who came to the country with nothing, and had parents who had nothing either. "Herjavec's family arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia , with a single suitcase and only $20. The family eventually settled in Toronto, where they lived in a family friend's home basement for 18 months. For Herjavec, who spoke no English, the transition proved difficult. Having grown up on a farm and raised by his grandmother among neighbors with similar lifestyles, he found himself in a much poorer economic class than his neighbors."

Very true. Specifically to sports equipment, Japan produces top of the line equipment. So I wasn’t a golfer by training. I grew up playing tennis and later boxing. It’s well known that Yonex makes top quality racquets, and Winning for boxing gloves. Doesn’t take long to realize that the craftsmanship was not completely done by a machine. The quiet whispers of a cool sounding language before the counter was bedazzling.
I see them being very successful in the future because a majority of golfers are retirees who don't compete for clout they just like to hang out with their buddies and show off their wealth. And wealthy people absolutely love hand crafted things! So that's a plus for this company! They just have to make a name for the company about them being hand crafted. Like all sports it's expensive to sponsor a pro, the talent will usually go with the highest bidder. This company needs to Lazer focus it's business on retirees. The competition golfers will use whatever works best for them, so their golf bag will consist of many different companies products.

Not a golfer by any stretch, but those really are some beautiful putters.
If there's one thing I've learned from this show is you don't bring emotions into business. Emotional business decisions can sink you. So glad this young man turned it around but you just don't bring emotions into a business meeting

There’s a fine line between being overly emotional and being passionate. Everyone wants a passionate business partner and with that will come emotions.

Not wrong tho.
Robert really has a golden heart
Sometimes the stories really get to you. But they also help drive the person behind the story to drive the business much further.
Lol Robert tells him to move to Japan quickly once Barbara said she would marry him 🤣
Robert is always the compassionate one.
What a great story, What a great success. All you need was a small little break And thank God you got it. To me this is what business is all about relationships And honesty.
These guys are just awesome, great craftsmanship
