You gotta be realistic and sometimes that’s harsh to people who can’t handle the truth but you don’t cut people off to have an opinion about something you haven’t even finished hearing about.

The firefighter guy gained all my respect when he pulled out the garden hose adapter and said he wasnt trying to market that because he was focused on the fire hydrant adapter. The fact that in his mind, giving fire fighters an 8 second response time advantage was worth more than helping consumers attach their hoses speaks a lot to where his mind is.

It wasn't about that, it was about her doubt for convincing municipalities to mandate spending their budget it because its only 8 seconds.

Mark is genuinely the nicest one out of all of them. I love that he literally told those firemen at the end “thanks for being firemen” and shook their hands. God bless these brave men and women in our fire departments

People don’t realize that Mark offering $200k for the whole business just to use for some Maverick merch here or there is the equivalent of us offering $2 to someone for something. He really does not care, he ultimately only did it to help those women out. He really is a nice guy that wants to genuine entrepreneurs to succeed.

Man, Barbara was really looking for any excuse to not make a deal with HyConn. She complained about it being 8 seconds difference, 8 seconds when your house is on fire is an absolute eternity. And then she said $7,000 for 35 of these is a lot of money, no it is not, especially when it's a device used to potentially save lives.

That fireman really reminded me of the farmer who had a product to keep plants alive through the winter. He cares more about the product being out there, so he went with the shark that would get the firehose clamp into firehouses.

An update on that sticker business: The deal didn't push through. The sisters backed out after the show and decided it was too special for them. And it was a horrible decision because they eventually went out of business. They were so caught up with their emotions that they chose to overlook the fact that it was literally dying already. Cubes couldn't care less about the business, heck he said he'd use it for "Mavericks stuff." I think he really just wanted to give them an out. But nope, they ended up being too stubborn.

Mark saying “Thank you for being Firemen” at the end there just shows how truly caring and compassionate he is.

I used to drive for a retirement community, and they had something very similar to the doorstep for every vehicle, but instead of being a footstep it was so that the resident would have something to hold on to while they sat down or got up. They are remarkably sturdy for how easy they are to put into place, and made life a lot easier for seniors.

I can't imagine how difficult it is to sell something you have poured your heart and emotion into.

That last guy with the hose piece had a brilliant invention! I'm glad he took Mark Cuban's deal because the other deal sounded like it was taking the part of the business that would make the most money for the inventor. Now he gets to continue his work with a very generous salary and has a nice safety net of $1.2 million, plus 7.5% royalties on EVERYTHING sold. Good deal, man!

Well they backed out of the deal at the time of signing. They were contacted to proceed and all three said no at the end. It's their loss, really. Two out of the three went out of business almost immediately.

My guess is that the companies experience significant sales bumps after the show airs and the owners start thinking they are worth more than what they're making on the deal. The Moki Step couple is surprising - $3 mil is a lot of money, and if invested wisely, could last them a lifetime. The sticker women are dumb, shoulda sold it.

Regarding HyConn, Cuban was diligent enough to notice that the guy had already pitched to sell his patent to a distributor. Hence, he already had the intent to sell 100% of his company for the right price. Kevin didn't pick up on that.

Update: When Mark's acquisition team contacted the sisters of EveREware, they actually backed out of the deal so the transaction was never made, and they did not end up selling their entire company. They got a lot of attention and fame from appearing on the show, but sadly, it was not enough. They went out of business in 2015.

The guy that sold had patented a quicker extension for fire hoses that go onto fire hydrants and a smaller variant for garden hoses, intern saving lives and time. Personally I think he should've asked for more equity but either way he struck gold 🙏 salute to Jeff

This video felt like three levels and Jeff definitely felt like a final boss. He knew what he was talking about and had spent over a decade working on his creation.

Mark may not give offers much but when he gives an offer, he doesnt degrade the people involved. Goes to show he not only knows the value of the product but also gives value to the sentiments of the inventor/owner. Kevin is just pure greed.

I've just searched all 3 of them. It's just so sad that all their deals didn't push forward. Luckily for the Moki Doorstep, they found their way to thrive, but for the other two they went out of business.

The way bro pulled out the mini hose was exactly what the sharks needed marketing 101 what a flex

It's unfortunate that none of these agreements actually went through. The sisters backed out on the offer later. Draymond also backed out of the moki company. And mark Cuban didn't go through with the firefighter deal. Goes to show that whatever happens on television isn't always the whole story.

@@queensav3762 they don't film the actual signing of the contracts. That is where the deals are truly made. And a lot of them fall through at that point. You can read them up online. The firefighter was interviewed about it and was disappointed.

The Fire Fighter dude truely cared for people. He was like guys, you make the riches with the small one but just get that fire hose think into distribution.

Turning stickers into 200K is a win no matter how you look at it. The business was dead, they are lucky they even got anything.

Cuban was very smart during the first deal, the stickers work perfectly for him because he owns the Mavs, he can just sell those stickers every game to the fans and he can alter and change the designs every now and then by contracting these two. He perfectly seen a potential in this product and i think 200k is a just valuation of their companies.

This was a really cool compilation. Lots of twists! And I hadn’t seen these episodes before.

The firefighter pulling out the garden hose adapter gets me everytime. Sharks all look so mind blown.

The sisters lost focus. They were so emotionally wrapped up in the concept that they failed to realize it is about being a business. It doesn’t matter if it is disposable ties or brake shoes. If you can’t make the calls, sometimes tough, you will fail. Keven O’Leary is the perfect example. He is tough and can focus to the bottom lines.

Sad update. That fabric sticker business eventually declined Mark's offer and did not sign the deal. They were out of business since 2015. They were given a lifeline but they did not take it.

They were better off taking the tax write offs on losses than his 200K when they already put 180k. Take back the merch and do Direct sales.

@@Alvan81 Don't know how you come up with that. 200k is clean money. Tax write offs won't give them back their original capital. They're probably still sitting on their unsold inventory right now. Plus the emotional hit of losing a ton of capital is gonna sting. If they took the 200k and invested it in a better business idea, it would have served them better. There's nothing proprietary about their product and I don't think people would buy those stickers (they're out of business so there's that). It was a huge lifeline thrown their way and they blew it.

If the adhesive they are promising for the stickers to fulfill that role existed, they would be selling the adhesive. Not mass producing stickers for 50c per tie. They just straight up lied about the functionality of that glue.

Sadly, when all was said and done, not one of these deals went through. ABC needs an "After The Tank" interview show where both the Entrepreneurs and Sharks react to the episode, explain their rationale behind the deal, and fill us in on what happened or didn't happen after it aired.

@@murphycj8671 no. The second deal didn't go through and product was licenced to Rightline Gear. The product now has $1mill in annual sales. Sadly, the other two product creators now seem to have gone out of business.
