Kate O'Mara's impersonation of Mel is both hilarious and accurate. The more I watch Sylvester McCoy's Doctor, the more impressed I am. An actor known for surreal and comic turns, he gives the seventh Doctor a delicious hint of darkness right from the get-go.

@@velahtielredfang9417 Apparently McCoy was the past Doctor that Tennant spoke with the most before filming started... it really doesn't show even when they did flat out remakes of his stories like Human Nature and Fires of Vulcan.

It's a real shame that Kate O'Mara died in 2014 - I'd have loved to see her play the Rani again - it's obvious that she was enjoying herself immensely playing the character.

@@brianartillery Her Big Finish sucessor is quite amusing and still quite active but as Pip and Jane were so adamantly against the remake we won't see the Rani in it until their Copyright Runs out in 2090.

What a hilarious scene! The Doctor just being an utter clown as the Rani regrets all her life choices that lead her to this point, and his outfit being selected by her just pretending she likes it so the whole thing can be over and done with… priceless!

It had a hint of the Brigadier and the 4th doctor when he came out in different costimes until in the end the brig says " that's perfect doctor now can we get on?"

I like the Seventh Doctor trying on costumes from previous incarnations before finding his outfit. I wouldn't mind this concept being done again for NuWho with the next incarnation, at this current time being Ncuti Gatwa, trying bits of costume from incarnations Eccleston, Tennant, Smith, possibly Hurt, and Capaldi before wearing his official look.

This is one of my favourite "Doctor picks their new outfit" scenes ever - Sylvester and Kate are just a joy to watch. Kate O'Mara really does deserve more credit for her Mel imitation.

7th's outfit was great. From a distance, he'd look like any regular Joe Soap, but the closer you get, the more alien and off-kilter it looked, right down to the completely on-the-nose question mark sweater. The question mark umbrella is just icing on the cake.

The first properly scary incarnation of The Doctor. He might be your friend, but if he knows that by twisting your reality, or making you relive painful past events, he can win a long game, then he'll do it, without a qualm, and then you're a pawn with very little idea of what's going on.

This is why I like the 7th Doctor! He had an excellent sense of style 😁

"The more I know me, the less I like me" I guess that one line is where the Cartmel Masterplan (making the Doctor mysterious again as well as darker) started then

I loved the Seventh Doctor's costume. It was professor-ish with a slight touch of whimsy, but it looked like he could go anywhere in modern society without drawing too much attention. And I like the idea that the hat came about because McCoy wore one like that in his audition?

I have to admit Sylvester McCoy played the doctor amazingly brought a clownish way to him plus he did his own stunts

We need a Rani and tardis action figure depending on the body for the Rani. Also she played Jackie in ab fab and the Rani might of used the chameleon arch maybe

Season 24 is insane... batsh*t insane... and so wonderful by the same stroke. 7's run is fantastic and, speaking of, it paved the way for the return of the show in 2005.

One of my favorite seasons. Love it

I love how Sylvester is just confused and Ace has to do the outro, that’s just charming. Also, I really need to watch the seventh doctor.

7 is superb - some of his early stories creak a bit, but Sylvester McCoy owns every scene he's in. His later stories are very dark indeed in some places, and some things he does might even make you hate him for a little while. He's a player of games, and everyone else are his playing pieces, especially his friends. He's also tying up loose ends of things he did in his distant past. He has a rough idea how things should turn out, but nothing is set in stone, and his careful plans can go awry. McCoy's single most brilliant moment comes at the end of 'The Greatest Show In The Galaxy', where he seemingly, without a care in the world, saunters leisurely from a huge, real, explosion, without jumping or blinking. It's a wonder to watch.

I loved seeing him in all the other doctor’s outfits. Hartnell’s would’ve been sick but kinda makes sense he didn’t.

1:19 I always enjoy seeing the Doctor actually trying on different outfits which is something that doesn’t happen often. A reason why I really like 15.

Overall, the clothes were an improvement from the crazy quilt/circus tent they dressed poor Colin Baker in - but they really went well off the deep end with the question marks (the sweater, the collar, the umbrella handle... he even had business cards with a question mark on them, fer cryin' out loud).

I remember meeting Sylvester McCoy back in 2014. He was a very nice person, but I never realized he was shorter compared to me.

Anyone else think Mel's face on The Rani's head looks like Bernadette Peters?

The Brigadier chose the Fourth Doctor's costume. The Rani chose the Seventh Doctor's costume.

"What else do I have back here? A leather jacket, sandshoes, a bowtie... Hm, maybe later."

The 7th Doctor era was the one where it was revealed that it was more then just boredom that made the Doctor leave his home planet like in Remembrance of the Daleks where it's was revealed that the 1st Doctor was returning from a errand that involved the Hand of Omega when meeting his granddaughter's school teachers for the first time in An Unearthly Child and Silver Nemesis where Lady Peinforte threatened to reveal the Doctor's secrets. In the 12th Doctor era, the boredom thing was revealed as a lie and no doubt the 1st Doctor lied about being curious about good and evil. As Davros once said, the Doctor doesn't run like someone who's bored and so far it seems that maybe the truth is perhaps too dangerous to reveal.

When I started watching Classic Era Doctor Who I didn't really like McCoy as The Doctor, but having watched most of his Era he is in my Top 5 favorite Doctors.

Please being back torchwood, torchwood 2 or 4 are still out there right? Torchwood 2 an office in Glasgow and torchwood 4 presumed lost but they'll "find them one day."

I’ve just realised McCoy’s outfit looks like something Tim Wonnacott would wear.

I miss the days when the new Doctor would go through a wardrobe tryout session before deciding on his final outfit. It did get a bit silly at times, but I still wish we could see it happen at least once in NuWho.

Bonnie was cute as a button back in the day.

He's wearing the 6th doctors outfit the multicoloured coat and cat

7 could have rivaled 4 with better stories and up to date effects. Reading the books did put him up there but his series were not so good, still had moments of glory. Same as 12 (Peter) great actor doing his best but let down by writing. Sky Pirates, Tragedy Day so good, and more I may not have read or can't recall atm.

If only one of the outfits was a wizard... :D

Gods it’s awful but endearing at the same time.

Well anything would be an improvement on the Sixth Doctor's clothes.

I know she has her fans, but I really can't stand Mel.
