Brutal how in the last frame of the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” scene you actually see a bit of Kane’s eyeball being exposed. There’s a full extended version of the melting scene online which also shows the eyeball melting into the socket. Disturbing to know this scene could have gotten a lot darker and traumatising (especially to children watching the show) if they ended up using it, though the reason it was probably cut down was because of censorship. It still is an interesting death for a character in Doctor Who of all things….

Yeah certinally would have been cut for censorship, I know they ran into similar situations with the plastic/jelly chair in Terror o.t. Autons and the entire glass dalek scene in Revelation.

McCoy had been known for comedy and children's TV and as the doctor he brought humor and a good deal more to the character than mere humor a darker side to the doctors ego this because he used everything from the characters past everything else was him. The Doctor after his leavers the series is still the doctor especially thanks to his impression of the Doctor up to now though some didn't really appreciated McCoys role at the beginning it is only recently thought he was a interesting version and that he gave the doctor a darker edge and deeper side to his legend as the doctor including mythology to his character backstories despite this how he left the story as the doctor wasn't just dark but very bewildering to Whovains it should have been done so differently to say a bullets from a gun isn't right it could have been so cleverly done with minimal effort to just have the doctor to regenerate no Highwood dramatically affects various ways to go?
