The Secret to a Happy Family | The Science of Happiness
Ойын-сауық
What makes a happy family? How do you know if you're doing a good job as a parent? Inspired by Zach Braff's latest movie, "Wish I Was Here" we decided to bring in real parents, with their children, to set up an experiment and find out more.

The bit that got me was when the kids said they worry about their parent. I am a single mother to a 2 year old boy, the thought that one day he'd worry for me is kinda heartbreaking! Kids shouldn't need to worry about adult things or whether their patents are happy! But at the same time, it showed just how much love they had for their patents which is a lovely thing!

I think this video is so cute because sometimes parents don't realize how much their kids do care for and appreciate them.
This was beautiful. I can say that as a college student, you remember those little things and you hold them within your heart on the nights where you can't go home and you feel overwhelmed. Great job. Great job.

Casey McMurtry That's awesome, and much appreciated!
This is a very uplifting episode between parents and their children. Seems that those kids think like adults. This video gives us a lesson that we should give or spend quality time with our families. This is an eye-opener for everyone.
Wow. This made me cry and realise so much about me and my parents.. I can relate to the dad who is unemployed and his daughter
That little girl is very bright and super sweet & her dad is too
Sometimes, we all get so lost in our own world, that we forget about theirs. Truly Inspiring.

Allen Lor We all need a little reminder every once in a while! Thanks for watching!
In absolute sincerity, these videos make me extremely happy. I have trouble sleeping usually because my head just ends up a bad place, but watching your videos for the past while has helped in a way I can't describe, being happy, thank you so very much for the content you make.
The dad in the band hit the nail on the head. My mom always place such a huge focus on going on a vacation, but what she didn't know was that all I wanted was designated one-on-one time doing something as simple as making pasta with sauce for dinner and watching my favorite movie(plus singing all the songs) would have meant the world to me.
This is really beautiful. The father with the 8 year old girl is such a traditional responsible father. Beautiful father. I wished I knew my dad and wish he had the mind just like her father does. I pray it works out for them.
I love this! Made me feel a little less alone today; struggling with parenting at the moment - you know when you feel like the world is on your shoulders and you still can't do enough for your kids... Yep...Beautiful and inspiring! Thank you x
this video is so meaningful and it feels great to know that I'm not the only one worrying for my parent . I'm so grateful to have come across this video and to find out such an inspirational channel . this video made me tear up and i never really teared up watching a KZread video before so this channel has to be great .
I couldn't explain how much I love this. Absolutely amazing and it really opens your eyes!
I would love to do this with my mom. I want to show her how much I love, worry , and care for her but she's stressed most of the time
Julian!! Love that you're still doing all these science of happiness/love videos :) You're the best!
Caseylavere sent me here and I'm so glad he did. I'm a single mom and this was especially helpful by how insightful it was sharing the children's feelings without parent present and then with parent. Please continue this series as I'm sure it will help so many people. Thank you for a great video.
I couldn't be a host like Julian, lol I would cry at every single episode.
Definitely an eye opener. Luv what u guys do . Please never stop. 😁
Thank you Casey for bringing me here, I love this!!
walking to school with my grandma was my favorite
I’m crying in da club😭😭 these kids literally look like a mini version of their parents and the look in both of their eyes💛
I am doing a research for my final paper in class subject on "Family Happiness" and I must say, this video brought me tears; children do notice. Great Job guys I am surely subscribing to this channel
This is hands down the best video series on KZread. Thank you SoulPancake for making my days brighter :)
I wish it was possible to have a new episode at least twice a week for the Science of Happiness. But you said it best, Quality over Quantity!

Looked this video when Casey asked, not a second of regret. Pretty nice, good job!
Very nicely done. I enjoyed the people that you interviewed, everyday people struggling to make ends meet. Good Video! Caseylevere recommended this video.
The humanity of this video resonates throughout the universe.
The little girl is so smart and caring.
I'm studding this video with my English students. We are loving!
To the people that were in this video YOU ARE NOT ALONE on the typical struggles and stresses that us Humans go through everyday.
This was so good! I was smiling so much by the end! It's so crazy how kids know so much-more than you think! Thanks to Casey Lavere for sending me :)
this is such a great series. well done. i enjoy and get so much from these videos.
I'm thankful for these videos
Casey sent me. This is so wonderful. I loved watching the parents' reactions to their kid's answers
I still don't get how your videos are so inspiring and have so less attention
Bring these back soulpancake pleeease!!!
I think I've always had a lot of quality time with my dad even though he works a lot whereas on the contrary my mom always says that she raised my brother and I almost on her own but it doesn't feel like we ever had quality time. She cared for our basic needs but we never really bonded over anything.
Welcome back! Gosh I did miss the Science of Happiness!
I love these videos. So interesting and they bring me so much joy :)
Quality time for sure. This is beautiful, I hope I exhibit to my babies with certainty my love and appreciation for them ♥️
Caseylavere sent me here and this was a very awesome message, thank you.
50% of being a parent is just being there.

i thought i was the only one crying while watching this video. good to know i'm not the only tear jerker around. hahaha!!
The girl in the pink shirt was so sweet.
These kids have amazing parents. I'm thankful I have both of my parents but it sucks when your dad seems to think merely being a good provider is good enough and never spends real quality time with you.
great episode!!!!
Hello Soul Pancake! Caseylavere sent me here! Liked this video. It's a treasure of wisdom about life.
this was so sweet.. made me tear up a bit:")
Great video. Great kids. Great parents. :)

Awww
Powerful! CaseyLavere sent me here! :) Great video!
This is so coool....
I wish my parents could realize that they needed or need to be there FOR me. When I tell them that they should care for me more they respond in a negative way. "Oh you're lucky you didn't have to do this Like me when I was younger" "you get everything you want" um no I don't and I don't really care for objects. I just want them to be more positive and stop making judgments and to enjoy life. It's not like it's we are suffering financially or something. Loving each other is easy, but they're not willing to try.
I am somehow fighting my tears to stay inside.
That was a great social experiment. Thinking of replicating them too here. Just wow. :)
❤❤❤😭😭😭💔🖤💔love this video as it truly shows everything about how family should be and understanding
Love this
