God refers to His Word as a sword in Hebrews 4:12. Here the Word is described as living and active and sharper than a double-edged sword. The Roman sword was commonly made in this manner. The fact that it had two edges made it easier to penetrate, as well as to cut in every way. The idea is that of piercing, or penetrating; the Word of God reaches the “heart,” the very center of action, and lays open the motives and feelings of those it touches.

How poorly the TV preachers of today present Gods word and while they live lavishly, they only seek fame and fortune. How badly today's religion has corrupted our churches, all the while, the people are led astray This kind of preaching is pure and blessed. It never ages.

When Charles Spurgeon was alive there was a critic who would write that Spurgeon's sermons were "unsophisticated". Now that critic is forgotten (I can't even remember his name). But Charles Spurgeon's works have stood the test of time.

What a revelation this was for me. He repeated this verse over and over until you could believe it too! I'm so thankful for these sermons and the person reading them. They are timeless!!

I am 65 and I first started reading Spurgeon when I was 19. I have been in ministry for about 30 years. Spurgeon's sermons have been an inspiration to me since those early years. Praise God for the abiding witness of Charles Spurgeon.

2 Timothy 4:3 Tickling of the ears. Today’s preaching is worldly and materialistic. More selfishness for earthly gains. People spend more time learning and planning a two week vacation and yet spend no time learning and planning where they will spend eternity.

“I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever- the Spirit of truth … I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you” (John 14:16-18). You never need to feel abandoned because Jesus promises to be right there with you; He will even be, through His Holy Spirit, in you.

Father I don't pray for the world but for the once which you gave me out of the world and for the once which will come to me through there words. And while Peter spoke to them, they received the Holy spirit. Not every one which knows the bible knows the way of God. To love Christ would be to obey God's word.For the once which do God's work becomes the Mother of Jesus Chist. Your soul gives birth to God's son which is the Way to salvation.

@@Psa141 There's three, God the Father (Word) ,God the son (Action) and God the Holy spirit (the result of the Word , Action) 1 x 1 = 1 Nobody comes to Jesus without the word as I've mentioned above. Jesus prayed to God, " through there words to me". Talking about his Apostles. I've also mentioned on my above comment, that while Peter spoke to them they received the Holy spirit. For them to keep it they need to practice it otherwise it will be like the sower which sowed the seed on the wayside it comes up and die. Paul said," the word I speak is not words of man but truly the word of God which work within you". The Word creates his son. The Way to salvation. God's son is not an image with long hair and blue eyes. In Japan people throw that image on the ground and step on it .Those images don't have faces anymore. To some this is bad but to me it just reveals the truth. Because no man can make a natural image of God. Paul thanked the community for receiving him as an angel and as Jesus Christ. Although a different body and face but the same spirit for Paul believed that he didn't live any more but Jesus lived in and through him. When they asked him to show the Father he replied, "you've been walking with me for so long and you ask me to show you the Father, If you have seen me you have seen the Father. This he ment his actions.

@@Psa141 the serpents bait which is the Word of God. Unfortunately a lot of false teaching keeps people away from the truth. Grace is to know God and his son is the one which revealed him through his actions to obey his Father's word. Paul toke on that image. He didn't live for himself anymore but for Chist. So should we as the body of Chist is the community. A lot of people but one spirit.

Proof the Holy Spirit speaks truth throughout the ages the same yesterday, today and this message will be relevant in years to come.

I love this man…he is so alive to me…he’s an ageless Godly man and an encouragement to His elect.

After 133yrs..am still blessed...old is gold.....

I have been stumped several times in the past two months while trying to connect computers, printers and tablets with the internet or with one another. I have spent hours on my own without success. Finally in each case, i turned to the Holly Spirit and asked for his help. In every, in every instance, within a few minutes my problem was solved. It's a supernatural intervention that I have shared with my wife, but I would like to share this supernatural power available to us as believers. As Charles is saying in this sermon, ask and you will receive. If you believe in the Trinity, I strongly suggest you call upon the Holly Spirit the next time you are stumped. He just got me back on line today, I praise God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holly Spirit for answering prayer and for demonstrating to me just how fully capable His power truly is. Amen. I have read a few quotes by Spurgeon over time, but had never listened to a sermon. I feel like a have just discovered a gold mine, a gold mine of deep revelation of God and His Living Word. I like the voice of this speaker best, there is another guy an englishman or something that recalls charles's sermons but this man gives the message way way better

Great preacher. I am really glad I found these sermons. Preachers don't preach like this anymore. Fornication is driving people crazy these days.

After hearing this I cannot allow anything else to come between His word and fellowship in Christ Jesus 🙏

The Power of Prayer gave my father another 13 years after multiple strokes; they were not sure how many he had in total. His doctors called him the walking miracle. It was an incredible miracle and gift to have him another decade plus+ I miss his laughter and jokes and just hanging out with him in nature.

Look at Moses, he was not a good speaker, he may have even stuttered with some of his words, yet, god used him. Christ can use us all. I am a very slow learner, and god uses me for his glory.

Ask whatever you will and you shall receive it if you remain in me and my words remain in you . Easier said than done but that is the secret of effective prayer. Rest alone in Jesus. A constant remaining, not temporary, and we will bear much fruit.

Indeed the Word of the Lord endures forever! Over 250 years and it's just as true & just as life changing!!!

I am immensely, Jesus blesses me every day when I wake up. I start the day thanking him for yesterday and thanking him for today. I grew so close to him three years ago when my husband died. Jesus is my Lord, my Savior, my comforter, and the love of my life. He has filled me with so much love and compassion instead of grief and sadness. My life is so beautiful with him. Thank you Jesus, and God bless you my heavenly father. You are my best friend,😘💕💗 I could not even begin to talk about all the things that I have been blessed with, and given by my Lord. What an encouraging teaching on prayer. Especially during this time in our nation. I have been saying God's Word is the only truth. We are being told by our own government that evil is good, and good is evil. I have been praying so much since March 2020 for our nation to repent, turn from their wicked ways, and acknowledge the Creator of heaven and earth. Evil is running rampant in our nation. May His people rise to such a time as this and pray with the same power that rose Jesus from the grave.

today is February 11, 2020. Can you feel it..??? Listening to this sermon, while in my quest to understand my Father.and all the gifts he provides. It is sad for the 73-year-old, who looks back to see her wasted Christian life. When I placed Jesus on a shelf, only took him off, dusted him for Sunday worship, then returned him again. I would also look at people who had the Holy Spirit oozing out of their pores. I just said to myself. If I only had that softness, that love. Thank you, God, for these Sermons. They are an answer to prayer.

I have gone through this message over and over again and still can't get enough of it...what a wondrous goldmine. I have just started digging. Ty Lord Jesus.Amen

Messages like this stand the test of time, because God is not limited by time nor location. God's Word is a constant that lasts through eternity. The beliver is commissioned to live it forward. Gracious Father, thank you for this message. Yesterday, the Spirit of the Lord asked me, “what do you want?” I said, I want to improve, to effectively pray from the throne, from his lisp to mine. To discern by the Spirit clearly and pray out your perfect will. Today the Father spoke to me in this message in what I must do. It hasn’t been easy for I found it difficult to pray at times. And so the pruning continues. Blessings to you my fellow believers to continue the race with all diligence. The Lord our God is with us, therefore NOTHING shall be against us. We are not forsaken but eternally loved.🙏

God gave me an excellent imagination and I can put myself in an 18th century church. The voice greatly goes with the face. Amen to the people that made this possible. Little did he know that his sermon would be read almost 200 years later.
