Love your videos Felix. Thanks for the awesome tips and tricks you offer for free, always with a smile and positive attitude! I just purchased a set of plus scales for an Explorer that's been sitting in the package for over a year. Gonna add some extra slots I've learned from your videos before mounting them!

Felix I have carried an SAK in my pocket for as long as I can remember, currently a swiss champ. You have once again blown my mind! I was not aware of the secret pin hiding in my knife for all this time, but I had recently put a sewing needle under the scaler as in one of your other tip videos! I love your videos even the older ones where I can't understand a word of what you're saying! You are a genius and thanks for sharing with us! By the way, another use for the hook is to untie shoelaces or knots that are really tightly jammed, but you probably already know that (although it wasn't included in your video on the other used for the hook) Thanks again, Dave

I was also excited to learn of this hidden needle. I hurried out to my knife to see. However my knife does not have this feature. Probably because it is around 35 years old. Or perhaps it is a lower end model.

I find it very funny that some owners have never found this feature. I bought the Swiss Cybertool knife when it first came out and mistook it for a rivet. Then logic struck: why would the Swiss build a knife that basically snaps together and leave a tacky rivet sticking out of the corkscrew slot? I took out the tiny screwdriver that was embedded in the corkscrew and decided I would try to take the rivet out. I was shocked that it was a pin. It's funny that I've seen online ads for this knife and the advertisers didn't know about this feature! I am surprised that after the hex wrench and main knife, the pin is the third most widely used tool on my knife. I mainly use it to reset things. Many electronics have a reset button but they require a needle so bumping into corners won't activate the reset function. The hex wrench with the clever swingout tray underneath was why I bought the Cybertool on the spot.

What works really great for creating a pin slot is a Dremel abrasive wheel... one that is 40mm or larger... big enough to grip it with your fingers... you do it manually--no motor tool ! I have modified two custom brass 91mm scales that were 'plus scales" but did not have the pin slot... I clamped a straight edge as a guide for creating the slot... takes a little effort, but worked great ! Creating a slot in plastic would be much easier than brass ! I have a pair of titanium scales that I plan on doing the same way... probably will be harder than the brass ones to do, but I'll give it a go !

Hi from France, Thank you Felix for your videos I love them. This idea is very clever. I used it to add a second slot for a sewing needle on my victorinox. Thanks to the stainless pin I can easily remove the sewing needle (grabbing the hole with the tip of the pin). I also use the lanyard to store the emergency thread (1 m). Thanks again for this great channel.

BTW I found a new use for the bottle opener, well new to me, if you have a glass jar (pickles/jam) that you can't get the lid off, if you use the bottle opener on the lid like you would with a beer bottle but only lever it till it pops, you will have broken the seal and let air in which will allow you to open the jar. try it. all the best Simone

I went to Sewing Store and got a box of needles with glass ball heads. The do fit behind the corkscrew. Yes, regular straight pins are too small diameter thus too loose. The glass head needles typically are same diameter but glass ball keeps it from falling out. Then I saw other glass ball pins, they were larger diameter so fit well! They were also longer than stock pins. They may have been called Craft Pins so meant to be stronger. Advantages… Longer and better grip with ball end. Easier to find. They come in different colors too. I have pictures but don’t see a way to upload.

...und wenn man noch eine Griffschale auf die ursprüngliche klebt, bekommt man sogar vier Nadeln UND zwei Zahnstocher unter... 😂. Nein, Spaß beiseite. Coole Idee 😊 👍. Liebe Grüße DisDar

Maybe dull the end of one of the pins so it can be used as a sim card removal tool.

Top tip, this… PLUS… I didn’t think my Victorinox Camper had a needle hole as it doesn’t have a needle fitted… I had a look… nope, no hole. Had another look… AHA!!!… There it is…. Tiny hole right up against the liner. Much rejoicing was had and immediately and boldly, a cuppa tea was made by way of celebration at this life enhancing discovery. Proper Job, as we Cornish boys do say. 👍😄😄😄

Can this method be used successfully to create a pin hole in my slightly older Climber model, which doesn’t have a pin hole? Thank you, Felix for these great videos. I have a good friend with nearly your same cheerful disposition!

The pin slot must be a new thing ?? Mine doesn't have a pin place but I guess it's about 20 years old, a little beet up but still holds a great edge, toothpick and twesers lost years ago. Cool modifications video Felix.

Yes Richard. I would say the needle slot has been around for 10 or 15 years..

Richard Solomon you can buy replacements for you tweezers and toothpick on Amazon. Cheap enough and work perfectly.
