Dominic Armato really loves the game and doing the voice of Guybrush, which makes his performance better. I came to this series a bit late, but became an instant fan, and the music from the first game is the best.

BEST GAME IN HISTORY: PERIOD.

This is my favourite have EVER! I played it when I was 8 years old and I still love it just as much! I think the remake is cool too, I'm glad it is faithful to the original

I miss playing this game. Had it on my ipod. I wish google play had it.

MI1 is amazing, you're gonna love it. MI2 is the best adventure game I've ever played. I hope they remake it too!

As much as the new graphics are nice, there's just something solid about pixelart. Or maybe it's just nostalgia, but pixelart is so timeless and iconic, so the fact that you can change back and forth is GREAT.

Also, the music is perfect.

The graphics and animations are perfect. According to the video the idea was to make a "faithfully reimagined version of the classic 1990 pc game". It's perfect. If they changed it too much, they would just ruin it.

pixel art leaves room for imagination and can create more realism than high resolution graphics

it's one of the most legendary games, and changing it's spirit, humor, and pretty much anything but sound and graphics would be extremely stupid! whoever played the original monkey island over 15 years ago, will certanly love this, and if you think that game is all about graphics and looks... well, just play crisis, or something.

im so happy, played the first part 1990 :( i hope a good simon the sorcerer remastered is coming.

you know i have to agree with MiRyRE guys, you shouldn't be complaining cause you can switch back and forth, i think it's cool to see what they did and how they made things a little easier to see and imagine, besides if you didn't like the voices from curse and such then you shouldn't have both this new one and stuck with the old one anyways...but still thank you for doing this remake...now i can finally play this game i've watched my brother play while i grew up :D

I'm not a 'pixel art or nothing" kind of guy, but there is something about the special edition art that feels a little too clean. It feels kind of like early 2000s flash game art somehow.

This could be pretty cool, although I don't know how necessary it is to do a re-release like this. I'm glad they brought back Armato, and from the sounds of it the original LeChuck voice actor is back as well.

Downloaded the demo... played it... bought it! As an Amiga fanboy I don't miss the disk swapping! LOL The original version is here intact... and with one click you can swap back and forth (in real time) between original and remastered. That's my fav part.

HIGHLY recommend this to anyone Got this game last night for 6.99 off the website and was playin within 25 mins Unbelievable is all I can say, if u are a fan u will love this and more, I would just like MI 2 remake to look forward to when I get to the end.

Reminds me of Flasheart in 'Blackadder 2': "Nursie. I like it firm and fruity. Am I pleased to see you or did I just put a canoe in my pocket?" :-D

There is one thing, and only one, that I find a little saddening about this, and that's that they went with a cartoonish art style in the end. I always sort of liked the semi-realistic art of the original. However, that's why it's so awesome that you can change it back on the fly. I look forward to this game.

I love the fact that with the new graphics the troll looks MORE like George Lucas.

I really love the way you can change the game back to the original without losing progress (my pc is kinda slow, so the parts with lots of water, like the outside of Scumm Bar get really lag, but I only press F10 and I can play that part with no problem using the original game and then switch back in other place :P).

as he said, to keep the old feeling.

@Alfawolf06 hahaha I watched my brother play it too because I was like 5. i dunno why it didn't occur to me to go back and play them all myself until last year. it was a whole new experience, cause I'd completely forgotten the plots. i adore this game. I'm so glad it was a part of my childhood.

I really don't like the Remastered look of Guybrush in this. It's a shame, his voice is perfect.

Thats exactly why I'll buy it. Its Monkey Island 1 with voices! Dont like the new graphics? Just switch and you still get voices. Great stuff

it may be ugly but it will be awesome to hear guybrush voice once again in this game!!! i found it awesome idea and i hope they will make a special edition of Monkey Island 2 also....

-omg, i was SO happy when they brought this out..... f*cking awesome -they dont make games like this anymore... -now they need to remake Loom, Quest for Glorys, Kings Quests, and BOTH Laura Bow mysterys - that would be great... that would def bring me soo back....

You will never be able to match monkey island 1 & 2 for me so remaking them is probably the best option! curse of monkey island was pretty good tho. Im going to enjoy reliving the magic anyhooo !!

Although I've been hoping for a remake for a loooong time, it brings tears to my eyes to see yet another great PC game being modified for multi platform. Oh, and I agree with 0igres, the first treee rocked, the fourth was very disappointing.

@MrYourtoaster Not likely and not needed imho. Curse is already talkie and high resolution too. The only reason for the new version would be compatibility with new operating systems, but SCUMMVM has got that covered quite nicely. The only game in the series in need of a remake in my opinion would be Escape, because its early 3D has really not aged well.
