I have my GCSEs really soon, and I was looking for some guidance on how to stay focused and revise effectively, I’ve watched plenty of other related videos on gcse’s but, none of them really seemed to have an impact on my approach to studying. But, so far you made it very clear on what I should do to improve my studies. Great content keep up the posts 👍

Do you want the grade? If so, stuff being boring doesn't matter. I know it gets difficult but I just had to push through. I hated English and Comp Sci but I wanted the grade more
what time do you go to sleep if you wake up at 530 and how do you revise on school days?

Sleep at around 10 ish. On school days, I have to revise in the evenings which I know isn't ideal and isn't what I said in the video.

@AkshayG8 I see, thanks alot mate!
A lot of really good advice here but slightly confused on your statement about eating makes you stupid (sometimes called carbs brain fog). This can? happen but most of the time fuelling your body is the right thing to do. Working hard requires lots of calories. In addition, the amount of energy required to break down and utilise food (known as the thermic effect of food) is minimal. To optimise performance at exams, you do not want to be in a calorie deficit and your revision sessions should mimic your actual exam routine. I assume you eat before your exams?? If there is any scientific literature behind what you're saying, please can you send it to me as I would be interested. I did my GCSEs last year and personally I think the biggest factor is purpose. Decide WHY you want to do well and then just WORK HARD. Don't spend loads of time listening to the same advice. Most of the time should be spent working hard and intensely as the video describes. Also exercise is incredibly important and doing something you genuinely enjoy built into your routine, stops burnout and maintains your ability to work hard. Overall, very good video mate!

Yes, I do eat before exams solely because exams require that energy. I honestly believe that revision is far less intense so the crossroads between fasting and energy expenditure is less significant. Research post prandial somnolence. Also thank you for your comment 💪

@@AkshayG8 as long as you consume healthy fats and incorporate vitamins into your breakfast before an exam or lunch, you should be fine (even if you do eat unhealthy carbs you should be alright), eating a burger would have noticeable secondary effects, aswell as consuming alot of sugar, using ketones as an alternate energy source is beneficial, in other words fasting, boosts cognitive function.
