    this has to be the most helpful study advice ever. it’s so raw and realistic for me. going straight to exam problems and practicing them until i get them right sounds faster than spending hours taking notes. i’ve noticed how when i spend 3 hours re-reading textbooks and my notes is not effective when taking exams. i’m also not going to take breaks like u said. i’m extremely prone to procrastinating so that’s probably one of the most realest advice i’ve heard so far. i just have to start giving myself some discipline

I've been taking notes my entire highschool life and I just now realised how ineffective it was (yes, i was in denial about it.) and my brother kept on telling me all i needed to do is to just answer the practice questions because they were the most effective ones, and I just kept ignoring it until I realised how effective it was (i tried it) shout out to my big bro, how could I not listen to him? he's literally done in college 😭, thank you so much too!

    best way for studying: type notes in class and pull screenshots from the slides. when its time to study for the exam, use the notes from the class to make a story of the thing. like if you are studying photosynthesis TYPE the notes in class, then when the exam comes, WRITE initially from memory and then compare your initial WRITING with the TYPED ones to pick out what you forgot that is essential. :) should help.

    Some students also rely on writing their notes manually because by keeping their hands busy and active, it enables them to solely focus on the information they are noting down. Typing, however, usually takes more time especially for those who aren't accustomed to typing on a laptop or staring at a screen for too long. In conclusion, I want to state my opinion that writing out notes is better than typing it out. No offence to your opinion though!!!

    New to your channel... I can finally relate with someone and now I know I'm not doing it wrong,it's just how people like me (short attention span/prone to be distracted) study! sometimes I would try to take breaks (force myself) and end up active recalling what I read...then,in case I forget something I sit back and go through the text again. In my case, I consider my breaks are just bathroom breaks, filling water bottle (in case,I drank it all) or ...to disturb my siblings (for short term,lol) The 5 step was realistic enough! Why you underrated.... Love your videos Bye~

  • @jet.james.61

    @jet.james.61

    7 ай бұрын

    Oh wow you're doing all 3 sciences?? Well with physics since its heavily problem based you can just do questions over and over again whilst applying your knowledge. With biology do practice questions, however, you will need to find an effective way to memorise things, so flashcards, notes, testing yourself on different things stuff like that. Chemistry is like a mix of both worlds, you need to remember concepts but also know how to answer problem based questions. And since chemistry and biology share some concepts, you can find a way to relate them to eachother and apply them to eachother and that should help you remember a bit more!

    I'm surprised that I could relate to every single thing you spoke about😅.This is my first video of yours and I subscribed immediately!😊 Thought I was the only one who does everything on a long stretch(study? Yeah without any breaks,rest? YEAH WITHOUT STUDYING FOR THE REST OF THE DAY!!)

    Omg, finally someone I can relate to! Especially since i really love taking notes which is I almost spent the entire day taking/making notes rather than 'studying'. So, thank you for this! I can also relate to the part where I don't take breaks when studying hahahah

    As someone who also takes longer breaks than he should this is so relatable. I just put my phone and everything far away for like 3 hours when I have to study that long

    That's incredible, thanks for the new insight. Anyway i feel the same thing as u do...struggle with the long time for a good notes. At the end of the day i realise that it did'nt work properly. I think i can memorize all that i wrote, but the reality is i have twice of works i must to do (write n memorize). After i see ur video, i realise that improtant to take an exercise instead of good notes. Have a good day!

    Lol I definitely agree with you for the breaks, I don't take them too much bc I have a really short attention span and I will end up procrastinating for the rest of the day.

    I am preparing for my ACCA p level exams, and weirdly enough, this is the note taking technique that I applied this session and this is more effective than it sounds! I didn’t study the texts that much, I practiced, let myself feel dumb and note the parts that were tough and revise repeatedly. And about breaks I agree too, I take longer breaks like 30-40mins in 4-5hrs, that too with a plan or agenda or else I'd be just wandering everywhere instead of studying. I am more focused once I'm more settled in what I'm doing.
