"I was living with my mother..." - the most horrifying part of the story.

That sucks. My Mom is pretty cool.
Excellent! Very good! Thank you Mr.Gordon and Horror Babble. Until next time.
I rather hear you reading than wasting my time watching the TV. Amazing story, provocative but at the same time, soooo relaxing.
Just as i was going to bed... Another hour won't hurt
Carnaki refers to this story as one of his cases, but it's really more like an origin story for Carnaki.

Carnaki is our man ⚫️🙏🏽🎩🌹 Thank you
I've been reading too much Lovecraft to be ready for an honest-to-goodness ghost story. Carnacki stories are excellent.
The Carnacki stories are a delight; in part because they're not always supernatural in nature. The Ghost-Finder makes no premature assumptions and takes nothing for granted.
Have to say the Carnacki Story's have their own interesting style to them, and I quite like it^^

Great to hear MoS! I loved recording these. Ian
I love how this guy operates, I love how he's willing to admit when he's afraid or had enough. I was helping a friend get a couch from this old place in town, it used to be a bar in a Victorian style home but covid pretty much shut it down so the family lived there. The house is just absolutely wonderful on the inside with this gorgeous winding staircase. Absolutely love it. So as we're talking to the caretaker about the house he mentions that they also rent the place for weekends and stuff. Which got me kind of excited because the original designer of the house ended up killing himself on the top floor in one of the steeples. The guy let us walk around the place and I was talking to my friend how I always wanted to start a ghost hunting group and that this could be a really fun way to try and start it, we could spend the weekend, maybe sleep in the steeple. As we were discussing it suddenly there's this sound of a music box playing and then a baby laughing. We both freeze and look at one another, I kind of laugh and ask if he heard the same thing and he said yes. I then asked, that sounded like a speaker or something right? And he agreed. So we laughed it off and when we were in the hall discovered the caretaker had his text message alerts set to that sound effect.
Perfection as always Ian, thank you very much!

@@gerry5134 Read the Carnacki Continuum by Roger Wood, his novels are all about Carnacki.
25:19 "Give it to me for God sake!" Had to stop cutting herbs for dinner because I was laughing so hard.
2:27 "... I lit my candle and turned out the light..." The past was so much more conducive to tales of horror than the modern age. When watching 1980's slasher films, I keep on thinking, "Why don't they use their mobiles to call the cops?", and then I remember, back then we didn't have smartphones 😱😱😱😱 8:38 "... the little churchyard beyond the big wall at the bottom of the garden..." That gave me a pleasantly satisfying chill.

These have got to be some of the most terrifying stories ive evwr heard! So much that i turn this off halfway over lol
Exelent rendition of a story I’ve read several times and you made it quite special Cheers! Ps GO ENGLAND 🏴 🎉
Great story, great narration of it. I've read probably thousands of ghost stories, and the theory of the stillborn child's soul wandering around between two places or dimensions is one I've never seen.
Good old Carnacki - always entertaining.
I'm enjoying the Ghost Finder story's. Gonna be a shame when you finish the series.

Great to meet you, Xabaya!
Thank you for another great Carnacki story.
Great story ❤
The good Captain (or his description), pretty well answers that of Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid).
Great stories !! Thank u. ☺
Ahhh...pull up a seat by the fireplace...light your pipe..sip the whiskey😄
I think Carnacki is mostly insensitive to spirits which is why most of his stories seem to me to result in finding normal explanations; in most cases he wouldn't know a ghost if he fell over it. However, the idea of hags taking the soul of a stillborn child is more horrifying than any story this author has ever written; I'm sure many mothers of stillborn children will have nightmares over this idea and have it stuck in their heads long after they have forgotten this story (the main premise of which seems to be cribbed from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the 3 Garridebs). In fact, I'm surprised a wrier would even write something like that; it's one of those things that even if you think of it as a plot idea, you just don't go there, because it is so very cruel. Very nice reading though.
Very fascinating story. Enjoyed this one very much. Thank you. How are you doing? I am roasting here in the summer heat.
thank you sir, may i have another?
The smell might be more difficult to explain hahaha depends upon who's mother it is!
When I listen to Carnacki stories the sound skips. Other HorrorBabble stories play perfectly. Are these haunted?
