Interesting factoid, before Dwayne Johnson was called The Rock he actually went by the stage name Blue Harvest. Which as some of you may know was also the name of the original Star Wars movie before it was Star Wars

I think the best part about this movie is that The Rock had a hand in the production of the action scenes. To make it easier on the visual effects crew when removing the plant life and simulating the desert locale on the movie, Dwayne Johnson joined the crew in painting the plants blue. Which is why this movie was also known as Blue Harvest. Edit: Oh good, James did end up doing it. I was worried there for a second.

Agree. I genuinely laughed at the artist rendering. I think Rob Liefeld may have been the artist given the lack of feet.

To me this movie is a great example for future generations of something you'd definitely watch if it was on TV. Which is some day going to be a foreign concept, that idea of "oh look Scorpion King is on, that's worth a watch I guess, I might actually see the first half hour of it this time".

'Rodney!' That was unexpected and outstanding!

It was such a respite seeing all those calming, cool colours in the middle of the video full of harsh desert imagery. One may even call it a blue harvest

This one felt like a Herc & Xena episode. I remember being pretty excited about this one, because I liked The Rock and the flashback in The Mummy Comes Back made me think it was going to be some wild fantasy stuff with gods and monsters and whatnot. Instead, it's just the Rock VS a dude with a mullet.

The Rodney Supercut kills me. I hope it stays a permanent part of the show

Got this movie as a random Christmas gift from a friend when I was 13. Made my entire family watch it on Christmas day and it did not go down well. But I absolutely loved it and watched the crap out of it.

Hoping the "RODNEY!" montage is another part you work into every episode of Caravan.

It's not brought up a lot, but one of David Hayter's best performances is as Bernie Wiseman in "Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket". It was like, his third role, and he absolutely nailed it.

Turns out the word Harvest is copyrighted by Lucasfilms. Also the title Wookie King for some reason. That's how they ended up with Scorpion King.

My favourite part of the Scorpion King is when his face goes all serious and then he looks straight into the camera and says 'I am the king of scorpions' and then a massive scorpion just comes out of nowhere, bows down to him and says 'your majesty'. 10/10

@@Robocopnik That sort of thing pops up in mythology - Odysseus in Greek myth had a bow only he could draw (allowing him to prove his identity and then arrow to death the guys trying to marry his wife), and I think Hindu mythology also has at least one "weapon only the hero can physically lift/use" as well.

One of my all time favorite movies. Hell, if I'm having trouble falling asleep, I've seen it so many times that I can easily fall pass out to it.

You know, this movie's whole desert themed environment nicknamed "blue harvest" was actually an old idea that the director of this movie used after seeing the original Blue Harvest screenplay, coincidentally named the same thing

Holy shit only these two could make “camel fun fact time” into endless entertainment

11:46 is another great example of the excellent work the editors put in by having the sidekick mouth "sure" to Maso's "Sure". Almost at the same level of "He's still out there!!!" In one of the spiderman movie reviews (not sure which one)

This movie is worth watching to me simply for the fact that it's an action movie where the Rock fights Alexander Anderson himself, while Michael Clarke Duncan is having the time of his life as he always was in these types of movies.

This was one of my favorite movies ever as a kid. For years I'd throw stuff at my sister and tell her "catch this" like he does in the final battle Also, I didn't realize this was a Mummy spinoff until I was a teenager but I can't even express the joy I had when I found out two of my all time favorite movies from childhood were set in the same universe

I am no Rock sycophant. However, my father was a body builder and grew shorter over the years. Muscles are heavy and compress the spine over time. The rock was most def taller back in his "skinny" days.

I used to watch this movie with my dad on the weekends after he got off work, so it holds a special place in my heart also RIP Michael Clarke Duncan

This movie felt like a TV show pilot that they decided to make a movie. I absolutely loved it.

I like that they just said they probably won't do the scorpion king sequels, as if we wouldn't hound them to do the scorpion king sequels until they finally cave Also, love the slow addition of bits, I can't wait for 3 years from now when the whole show is just non stop in-jokes and sounds like one of those noisemaker boxes they had for old radio, but made of in-jokes

They did name drop camels in NOPE. They said that is why the family lost the horse contract for the film (but OJ still has the hoodie) because they decided to go with the far superior camels.

Is it wrong that this is still one of my favorite Rock movies.

A fun movie that isn't too complicated and has a lot of good actors including the lat Michael Clarke Duncan. I used to watch this as a kid and just found it to be adventurous and action packed, how movies are supposed to be!

I saw this in theaters as a kid and was livid when he never once turned into a cgi scorpion monster for even a second

My wife and i tried to watch Eraser three times over the years, only to wake up, having fallen asleep 10 minutes in every time…

I saw this movie on DVD while it was still in cinemas when I was about 14, because my uncle had a friend who used to deal in pirating movies, and as a kid who liked watching movies and wasn't aware of pirating, I didn't ask questions. I also had a GameBoy Advance video game for it and remember loving it. I sunk hours into that game when I was younger.

The 'dude shouting Rodney ' super cut has made my day. I don't know why that's so funny but I'm glad it exists. Can't wait for next week. That movie is ridiculous and awesome all at the same time!

Honestly didn't know there was more than one Scorpion King movie. To be fair, this was basically a feature length version of the Hercules/Xena TV series. Scorpion King could easily have existed in that universe without question.

Being 5th form at a predominantly Pacific Islander college, this movie was ICONIC when it came out

3:10 The fact that that illustration exists to just happen to line up with Maso's comment is kind of miraculous, ngl.

I love how over the course of so many years James and Mason have kept bringing up that leg lengthening surgery

The Green Trivia and also a Rodney Supercut (also known as GTAAARS) segment has come a long way since this show began, really shows the growth of the Sunday brand as a whole.

So I usually see Blue Harvest coming from a mile away. But I want to say this one totally caught me off guard and I laughed pretty damn hard. So that joke is definitely not dead. But I acknowledge it’s gonna get harder to catch me with it. Great video. I enjoyed this one more than usual. I might be the only one who thinks that. I guess I stand alone. Hee-yuh!! Do do do-do

I've watched the Mummy videos like 5 times each, how have I JUST discovered that you guys did The Scorpion King too?!! I lowkey really like this movie, it's dumb as hell but it's got that 80s fantasy B movie vibe, just without the gratuitous nudity every 10 minutes.

Scorpion King vs Scorpokon is still the greatest The Mummy franchise battle of all time, especially the part when they went "Scorp you, Scorphead!" and then scorped all over the pyramid while Brendan Frasier looked on with an acknowledging nod and a cheeky wink. 10/10 the best Blue Harvest ever harvested. That Dwayne Johnson fella should consider getting into some form of kayfabe sports entertainment.

I bought my sister all the Scorpion King movies on DVD as a gift when she moved into her first apartment this year. She’s never seen any of them, neither have I, and she doesn’t own a DVD player. $5 well spent.

This was a pretty shit film, very early 2000s generic PG-13 action movie.

At 16:00 my eyes started glazing over with all the scorpion "the 'dwayne Johnson' Rock" king information.

It's so infrequent that I hear Mason actually like things that it pleases me when he actually does.

10:23 I didn't wake up this morning expecting to see a picture of James riding a camel. I still haven't, though, because that's a picture of Claire riding a camel and James holding on for dear life.

If I remember right, they made a point of showing the bow at the end being a lot larger than the other bows. So while the bad guy could catch the arrows from regular bows, the big beefy bow that took a big beefy guy to draw it back was too much for the bad dude.

I remember there was a PE teacher from a school in South Africa my school was twinned with, he stayed with my family while visiting, and he said Scorpion King was his favourite movie ever, which surprised me a lot

"But he's Indiana Jones and Rock O'Connell except he's invincible and immortal and he's the biggest man in the movie." Every movie with the Rock as the main character in a nutshell.

I was convinced I had never seen this movie, until watching the B roll and remembering every single scene of this movie, and remembering I loved this movie when I was younger

When the Rock and Michael Clark Duncan broke their swords, That was actually a reference to when Vigo Mortensen kicked that helmet and broke his foot and they left that in.

Once again informing James that Blue Harvest was the working title for Return of the Jedi, not the original Star Wars.

You know, back in the time that The Scorpion King is set, a singular camel was called "Blue Harvest", which incidentally was the fake working title for Star Wars A New Hope.

So we have Green Trivia, Blue Harvest, and now the Rodney compilation. The boys are in-joking themselves to an early grave.

I cand safely say I have watched this movie many times as a kid and I will say this is a movie I still remember many many lines from this movie and find myself repeating on occasion. Honestly Rock as more personally in his early movies than his more recent ones in my opinion

I’ll tell you this much, the arrow catch scenes in this movie are infinitely better than the arrow parts in mulan 2020.
