@@mehdimcgrady Comedy has math too. Timing. Rule of threes. There's a lot. But with both comedy and rap, it's possible to subconsciously internalize the math. You don't necessarily need to think about it if you can *feel* it, but that takes a keen ear and good instinctive pattern recognition. It's like how there's a lot of math that goes into hitting a baseball just right, but baseball players aren't necessarily conscious of that math; it just happens in the background.

@@virodhi5898 I'll try... So the rhythmic pattern (1, 2, 3, ..., 7, 6) plus the 2 beat pauses adds up to 48. He is using the patteen every 4 bars. So you get 48 / 4 = 12. Each bar needs to be 12 so he is doing them in triplets (4 triplets for each bar). E.g. First bar is: 1 syllable rap // 2 notes pause // 2 syllables rap // 2 notes pause // 3 syllables rap // 2 notes pause 2nd bar starts off with 4 syllable rap and etc..

I love how you break this down. I've been freestyle for over 15 years and it's crazy how I never know what these different styles are called. My brain just formulates different flows based on the beach per minute so I can create unlimited flows just by listening to how much space I have before the snare and the drum head, thank you so much for explaining this really cool flow. I'm not sure I've ever attempted to try this one, butif I write it down, I can accomplish it trying to freestyle. This technique will be a challenge.

Bro I just came across your reels like a day or two ago, and I have to tell you, while I’m primarily a math-metal musician, I’m legit getting inspired by your breakdowns and understanding of meter and rhythm in general. I’m also a writer/poet, and don’t limit myself to any particular genre, and take inspiration any way I can get it. Early on, I used to be *really* into crunching numbers to see what kinds of patterns would emerge and used it a lot in my earlier days of writing guitar parts. I’ve always been very rhythm focused, and find that even writing prose has a certain musicality and cadence that drives what and how I write. So you just earned a sub, and I’m definitely going to try mucking about with this pattern tonight! I feel like that 5-6-7-6 turn is gonna be mad difficult, so I’ll probably start with going up to 5 and returning to 1 to give a 1-2-3-4-6 sorta feel. But goddamn, I haven’t felt this inspired to write shit in a LONG time, so I just want to say thanks man!!

Amazing, I just got it (07/04/24 @ 08:55 U.K. time) after watching it about 20 times. Really impressed especially as I am a nerd with things like this, word nerd definitely and now the maths and science are making me even more interested, I heard when you said 'map the syllables to the main numbers in the sequence' but I didn't understand 'til now. Amazing.

@mazbouQ I kno u don't kno me, but when ur videos come across my feed. It takes everything in me not to break down and cry. On one hand, I look in your face and see my older brother. I loved him so much but we got separated bc of dif parents but when I eventually found him again in adulthood, and he hates me and refuses to talk to me and I'm not evn sure why. I don't kno where we went wrong or what changed. I remember him as the person who protected me from bullies, who laughed w me and had my back, was evn got whooping together. I even wanted to name my first son after him but I no longer kno who he is. So when ur face comes up I am overwhelmed w so many emotions. Im in tears jus tryna get thru this. I hate that this happened between us but even w all that on the other hand, Seeing ur face also makes me happy bc when u smile and talk, I hear him. What's crazy is he raps too. I feel like I'm learning from him. So anyway, I'm sorry for dumping that on u, but thank u so much for keeping the memory of who he was alive. And I love ur channel too btw.
