Fear or anger can cause people to make mistakes no matter how physically prepared they are. Batman's mental fortitude is unmatched in the DC universe. If he mastered only Muay Thai and Juijitsu, he would still beat everyone because of his mental prowess.

Likewise, in One-Punch-Man, all humans can self-actual use (if they believe in being specific thing obsessively enough, they become such thing, no matter how ridiculous it is). Saitama is technically a 100% regular human by the standards of his universe. It just so happens that by standards of our universe he would be a god. It is all relative. In DC, Batman has perfect genetics, which would make him serum-less Captain America who just got lucky enough to already by on Captain America’s level of genetic perfection and without the need for super-serum.

I've watched a number of these KZread videos about Batman's ability (strength, agility, technology, brain power, etc). I love the fact that so many people have taken a dive into treating the subject matter seriously. It is AWESOME. The only issue is that no one is accounting for injuries and recuperation time. Imagine Batman weight training 3 hours a day and then fighting three criminals that same night, then coming back to the Bat Cave with 5 heavily bruised knuckles and a twisted ankle. The only way to repair is medicine and lots of rest...and taking days off isn't possible if you're going to bench press 1000 lbs, leg press 2500 pounds, eating 4500 calories every 24 hours and also runing 5 miles per day. Injuries would simply make this training impossible. But again....I LOVE these videos! Awesome insights!

I really think the greatest weapon Batman possesses is his mind. He is always 10 steps ahead of his opponents. If you look at his greatest and arguably the most powerful friend/foe which is Superman. Batman has beaten him on many occasions by his sure will and mind. For instance, in Frank Miller's novel the Dark Knight returns an aged Bruce Wayne, still took Superman down and could have killed him but he showed another powerful strength he has which is his strength of character. Time and time again he has beaten enemies far more powerful because of his amazing strength, will, character, and mind.

If Batman can do it then it can theoretically be done by a human being, If he can’t do it, then a human being cannot do it. The difference is, Batman can do ALL these things while a human can only train themselves to that level in one aspect of their lives, as they wouldn’t have the time to train themselves in the other areas, and Batman combines all these scales

I like to think of Batman as the greatest human being to ever live. It just makes it slightly more believable. The idea that he is basically coincidentally a perfect physical specimen, with world class athleticism strength agility and toughness> An academic prodigy, extremely naturally talented and naturally perceptive and conscientious. Combine that with an obsessive driven workaholic mentality from an early age and getting long term intense training from some of the most dangerous and intelligent people on earth. Then the money comes in. lol

The money, and Wayne tech granting him access to the cutting edge of nutritional s science, and medical technology. Batman don't drink no muscle milk and use a Walmart perfect pushups machine. His suit is made to compress in areas to boost blood flow and avoid inflammation. He takes supplements that USADA doesn't know they should test for. (Not steroids...of course, because that would be...cheating...somehow when fighting crime) but he has no dietary deficiencies micro or macro. Somewhere in Wayne tech, they have the video for 5 minute abs, and the multi vitamin with low dose IGF-1 and test. Lol (no seriously, if I could have access to all that stuff, I'd be juiced to the damn gills.)

Here is my take on it: Batman is an abstract representation of HUMANITY. If humanity as a collective can do something, Batman can do it. He is amalgamation of everything humanity stands for. Which is still a ridiculous power (being 1st best in everything human), but a sensible standard nonetheless.

One of the things that made me really like Ben Afflec's Batman was the ending scene of BvS when he had to save Martha and the pure, raw power and terror he inflicted. I think that scene single handedly proves most of the great points you brought up here. I really wanted to see that version of Batman in his own film. Bale will always be MY Batman but the Batflecc version had so much potential.

All heroes in fiction is realistic with accordance to their level of feats and prowess . Except Batman whom writes claims to be "just a human" ...his feats is supposed to be according to the level of prowess of a human physiology Agree, batman is the most op character in DC simply because hes meant to be human. Let's look through his skillset Indomitable will that exceeds most superheroes. So strong he literally willed his bones to be denser and stronger. Peak human strength, durability, speed, agility, stamina, reflexes, metabolism and senses. You would have to train decades to match him in any one of these but somehow he has managed to do it in less time and with all of them. Ranked as one of the top ten marksmen in the world Rated as the best martial artist in the world having mastered every form of known martial art including making his own. This on it's own would take a lifetime to archive but not for batsy. Weaponry, yeah hes mastered them all including firearms and is ranked as one of the best marksmen in the world. again this would take a lifetime but hes done it. Multilingual and fluent in at least 10 different languages including Kryptonese, latin and mandarin. Genius level intellect. If he were on our earth he would be the smartest person alive. This is again something that would take years and constant training. This is a list of subjects he mastered before he was 26 Biology, Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Mythology, Geography, & History. Gained degrees in Criminal Science, Forensics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Engineering. He has mastered Diverse Environmental Training, Security Systems, and illusion/sleight of hand. He gained even more degrees in Biology, Physics, Advanced Chemistry, and Technology. He has learned Forensic, Medical Sciences, Expanded Computer and Engineering Sciences. Hes an expert pilot capable of flying anything with ease. I could go on but this is already ridiculous. Everything he does he masters and apparantly in minutes. He would have needed multiple lifetimes to master it all and thatsbignoring that many of these would require either constant training or constant updating of his knowledge as technology advances. The amount of subjects hes mastered would take more than a lifetime and by the time hes mastered them all his information for most would be so outdated he would have to master them again. I can not overstate how stupid his character is, if you like the comics version of batman you are a moron and that's it. Batman is the child at school who tries to win an argument by one upping you in a game. “I hit you" “I'm super tough though so it does nothing” “Old I shoot you" “I'm also super quick though so like you cant hit me" “I said no super powers" “I dont have any i just totally trained super hard making me very good" “Ok then i mind control you" “I have a super strong will though do i can resist it" “I kidnapped your family?” “I'm like the best detective ever and know where you are just by smelling the air" “I turn the worlds nuclear stockpile on you" “I can totally hack everything though so I stop you: Do you fucking see? Batman's character actually makes me angry at how much of a fucking op shit he is. Some writers are just sitting there masturbating over this creation as they imagine themselves in his shoes. There is no intelligence or creativity in his character. It's literally a childish attempt at making a human character thay failed spectacularly by making him the best at everything. Yes he is. He is a superhuman because he has a superpower What is his superpower you ask? His countless skills Superpowers are defined as an exceptional or extraordinary ability. The fact that he can take out other superhumans with his abilities makes him superhuman.

“Anything” is not consistent. Good writing is the one which is, regardless of how outlandish those feats are. And most fantasy can be estimated or be calculable. Sure, you can have something wildly inconsistent without explanation - but that cannot be really enjoyed by most people. There has to be SOME sense. Take Superman, for example. His super-power is advanced energy control. That grounds in physics, raging from structural integrity/manipulation of density/invincibly, telekinesis (super strength, flight etc), energy release/absorption (heat vision/cold breath/solar flare). Etc etc. It is pure science fiction at this point, but credible to a degree. Now, he is also stated to be a power battery. More energy absorbed = more energy. So, since his power is proportional to his charge, it is NOT constant. And hence, you can write any story with any power level and it will still work, as long as that story uses consistent power level throughout, since his initial charge settings are versatile. Likewise, him being planetary level on average makes sense, since THE SUN has enough energy to scorch Earth out of existence, and the Sun is his battery. Likewise, you can have him knocking out multiversal beings and lift black holes, but when he does so it is blatantly stated that he absorbed power of millions of suns….. Here you go. As long as there is some sense, you can even write something as outlandish as Superman well. Since his core principle of underlying powers (pseudo-physics) is always constant and there is a believable explanation for the visible different in power levels story-to-story. Superman weak? Been skipping solar breakfast (Batman Returns). Superman strong? Must have been sitting in the Sun for the past few days charging before coming back to Earth. Etc

Not really in the world he exists because his feats are relative to a world that has Superman in it. He's not stronger than Deathstroke. Not stronger than Bane. But he has to regularly beat these guys. If he was actually just regular human strength he'd die if he failed to avoid 1 punch from Bane or Killer Croc or Solomon Grundy or Deathstroke etc. It would be far less realistic if he was just regular and defeated these guys let alone defeated Superman.

Batman is combination of all efforts of humanity. If humanity combined can do that, Batman can do that as well. His superpower is “being 1st human in everything/every skill/every physical aspect”. There is a big distinction between being best of the best and being simply unfeasible Mary Sue (for the lack of better term) in everything.

One thing when it comes to speed, esp. the usual comic trope when ducking down or rolling downwards to avoid the bullet, without some external force, it is scientifically impossible to duck faster than 1g. You can theoretically, say move your upper body downwards by >1g if you pull your legs up as an opposing force but the scientific limit is always your entire body mass can never accelerate downwards >1g regardless of muscle strength (assuming your dont push off the ceiling or something, talking open ground here). You need some super handwavium like speed force.

These just shows how non realistic the writing of Batman is. It's, of course, not exclusive of TDK. Superhero writers have an enourmous difficult of setting the limits of the characters they are creating. Superman, Hulk and Thor have the strenght the script needs them to have. Batman shouldn't be able to do so much above world athletic records. These should be the benchmark for his abilities. A little more? Sure. Twice? Rarely. Five, ten times? No. Never. Batman should be human. Let the superhuman abilities to those not limited by the homo sapiens genetics.

Batman doesn't have to be human Nor does he have to be realistic. No hero in fiction is really realistic and batman should be able to do those things. It makes makes stories more engaging and interesting. It not intresting to see a realistic man struggle to fight 2 unamered men. So i see no problem here, writers and people giving batman a meaningless title of being human doesn't mean he can't do impressive things. We shouldn't limit fictional characters to the silly notions that they have to be like or nearly like the people around us unless they are those people it's not nessecary.

The non-scientific answer: he’s Batman. Some people hate that answer, but the fact of the matter is…he can’t be a realistic character to do all the cool things that he does. So he will either be more powerful than he should be or less powerful than we’d want him to be. I usually prefer the former.

The algorithm is as deep as we think. Earlier today, I watched a very quick short of an animated series with Batman, Superman and Darkseid. At one point, Batman swings in while Darkseid is not looking and Hits in with a flying kick. It sends Darkseid flying a bit off his feet. This made me groan and wonder how this could be. Then this video shows up. Well played.

Let’s remember that Batman TRAINS. Whenever he’s not fighting crime, his free time is literally all spent on training and improving his mind and body. I don’t see why people have a hard time believing that bats could be bordering the lines of super humans. He’s still a human being, but he’s not just a regular old Joe. He’s literally the perfection of any and all humans, smarts and strength (physically and mentally). Bats is my favorite superhero of all time for this.

It's good to hear this. One of my issues with DC is how they make him why too strong as a simple human. Now recently, I thought about Naruto and I began to realize that if we consider him in the context of such warriors, then it can kind of fall into that sense... But that then becomes the problem - selling him as just human. But then you put all of this next to Captain America, T'Challa and a few others and he undoubtedly manhandles every single one of them. It no longer makes him human. Especially having someone like Joker or any other getting any shot against him. I'd rather them say that he's a Super human instead of lying and saying that he's just human.

  • @kingol4801

    @kingol4801

Agreed. I think it is a problem of different universes having different meanings of what “peak human” is. In One Punch Man universe, ANY human can self-actualize. If they are super obsessed with being something, they become such thing, whether that is being strongest body-builder or huge man-crab-thing. So, by definition of what human is in One Punch Man universe, I **** you not, Saitama is 100% peak human. Saitama is NOT super human. It is all relative. DC peak human is on Deathstroke level of ability. Compared to Marvel, that is not even a contest. And compared to IRL, 5 times that.

Alot of people should consider that Batman's standard suit isn't simply cloth like in the Golden age comics anymore. Even his standard armor is bullet and fire resistant. So this helps with him recieving blunt force trauma from people with super strength like Killer Croc or Bane; or bullets from people like Deadshot; and this fact makes it plausible that he can take the damage.

Anything that happens in his suit, I would just write off as technologically assisted feats, since his suit is the most advanced body-armor science can create and money can buy.
