Back in the PlayStation days we all had Resident Evil PS1 and Silent Hill PS1 to play and talk about in terms of viral video games. The most viral videos of the week didn’t exist, maybe even the concept of funny viral videos or scary viral videos didn’t exist either. But then all of a sudden, KZread happened, and then the biggest let’s play channels kicked off into the stratosphere with a horror game playthrough. JackSepticEye horror games and Markiplier horror games compilation videos and walkthrough videos went massive and caused a new surge of the best indie games of all time, or in some cases the worst indie games of all time, to come up into the spotlight - which leads us to today’s Caddy video. Amnesia the Dark Descent reaction videos and Amnesia walkthrough videos showing Amnesia the Dark Descent gameplay were one of the first indie horror games to go viral from PewDiePie and every other giant streamer, and eventually this lead to Amnesia the Dark Descent review videos and then even more free horror games getting popularity - but why? Jim Caddick is going to try answering that question, badly. But by trying that he will show off SCP Containment Breach walkthrough and SCP Containment Breach review alongside every SCP Containment Breach jump scare and more underground classics like Yume Nikki review and Yume Nikki soundtrack - and who can possibly forget the infamous Slender Man, or Slenderman, depending on where you see him in the world of scariest creepypastas and other creepypasta reading channels. Slender the Eight Pages full game and Slender the 8 Pages walkthrough videos went viral too, and Caddty even did a Slender review back in 2012. It was terrible, don’t watch it. He was scared of slenderman. Luckily though he isn’t anymore, and also isn’t freaked out by Slender the Arrival review and Slender the Arrival walkthrough, it’s just another jumpscare game fad. But then it all rounds off eventually with a trip down Outlast review with Outlast gameplay and Outlast walkthrough for PS4 and Xbox, and then the one we’re all waiting for, Five Nights at Freddy’s. Or FNAF review, if you want to get lazy. And I am lazy - so FNAF 1, FNAF 2 and FNAF 3 it is. We haven’t got time to spell the whole FNAF gameplay words out, the FNAF movie trailer is out and the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie itself is now out in cinemas. Go and watch the Five Nights and Freddy’s trailer, see what you think. And maybe Spons will ruin everything as he always does, what is Caddicarus Spons anyway? There’ll also be FNAF 2 review and FNAF 3 review - you could almost look at it like a Five Nights at Freddy’s retrospective, or FNAF retrospective. I don’t like that word. I’m calling them FANF. Leave me alone. Happy Halloween - I haven’t done a Caddicarus Halloween Special for many years and I hope it’s everything you wanted.

    meh I always found Amnesia overrated boring and not scary at all, and I kind of resent it because it started the annoying trend of survival horror games where you can't fight back which I found more annoying then scary, those crappy Outlast games being the nadir of that stupid trend and i'm glad RE7 pretty much ended that lame sub-genre.

    Fun Fact: the actual creator of that SCP sculpture has revoked the use of his art for horror purposes, as the sculpture is not meant to be a creation of such murderous violence. So I think the actual SCP article was slightly edited so that the art piece has no direct connection, yet the idea of a creepy statue that kills you when you blink is still intact.

  • @EdenNeedsAYoutubeHandle

    In recent years the SCP Foundation has taken a strict stance in that all images on the website must be in public domain and have its source attributed, and 173 was a large contributing factor to this. SCP started as a niche little circle of amateur writers brainstorming a fun little horror universe using random images they found on google, nobody ever imagined it would end up as culturally significant as it is now. I don't blame the sculpture artist at all for no longer wanting this association impeding their work.

    @@QJ89 Funnily enough, "Don't Blink" (the episode of Doctor Who that debuted the Weeping Angels) aired just *nine days* after the original SCP-173 post was made on 4chan. Since "Don't Blink" was written and in production long before then, it ultimately was just a coincidence. (Though it's entirely possible 173 was inspired by a trailer for the episode, there's no documentation or record of this trailer's posting.)

Not only was it a semi-viral horror game that came out in 2014, but also, more than half of the games in this video were either used as reference, parodied, or are just straight up in the game! No really, there is an animatronic joke enemy, there are plenty of enemies that can't move when looking at them, like the scp guy,. And both white face AND Lisa (the girl from PT) are just straight up enemies in the game. In fact, Lisa and white face are the ONLY enemies that are just in without any strings attached. What's funny is the tragedy that happened with P.T ended up inspiring a lot of people to make their own Horror stuff. It gave a lot of people the push they needed to go ahead and shoot their shot. It's a shame for what we lost. But i'm thankful for everything it inspired.

    1:04:22 so believe it or not... there is an alternate way to play this lost demo. If you own a copy of hat in time on pc. _somehow_ someone recreated damn near every single found jumpscare ever recorded on the internet and to this day _is still being updated_ THEY WERE DEDICATED TO PRESERVE WHAT THEY COULD

  • @PhantomCom
    @PhantomCom6 ай бұрын

    The main problem with Fnaf 3 is that if you're playing it for the first time there's no way you'll know know how to deal with the Phantom Animatronics because the game never communicates it with you which is why it always felt random when they'd attack you. Because Scott Cawthon wanted to focus more on the lore in the 3rd entry the gameplay suffers and encourages you to just brute force your way through it instead of learning how each threat works which is just not a fun way to play a game. And since the Phantom Animatronics don't kill you they just become annoying instead of scary. Oh yeah and Springtrap's "jumpscare" is the most pathetic scare I've ever seen.

    FNAF 3 in my opinion is best in vr souly because you can reboot and play the game simultaneously. Hell fnaf 2 is best in vr. Only bad thing is that you don’t get any of the mini games

    @@theFreddyFighter I'm of the opinion that FNAF is one of the better franchises when it comes to translating to VR, because the core gameplay is centered around staying in one place and looking around, which limits the amount of motion sickness. Also, it is a first person horror game, which VR lends itself relatively well to in regards to immersion, the most important thing in a horror game.

    I think people don't seem to understand Springtrap's jumpscare. I personally find it better than any other jumpscare BECAUSE of how he simply approaches. It's not a child's soul lashing out in anger. It's a cold, calculating murderer who defies death through sheer force of will and has now cornered you with confidence, knowing you now have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. The complete blank game over screen kinda makes it better BECAUSE it shows nothing about your fate.

    And the newest Silent Hill game Konami has given us instead...is a visual novel that is locked behind micro transactions. That's right, it's just a bunch of cutscenes that you can't even get a taste of without forking over $20 for a "battle pass". This is what Konami's ideal video game is. No wonder they didn't like Kojima; he actually had vision beyond "make money in the most cost effective way possible"
