Damn man! There was one time I accidentally paddled out to Pipeline thinking it was Gums on a 1-3 ft day during a funky N/NE swell that caused Pipe to break farther NE up the coast. Even when it was that small, the waves packed a lot of punch and I was terrified! From the shore, it looked like weak mush burgers. But up close, it was roaring! I can't imagine paddling out on days like the Backdoor Shootout!

I really like that you show the time lapse of the paddle out. Very rarely does a video ever show that. Can't remember any other times I've seen that on video. So for a guy who has never surfed it helps put into perspective what athletes these surfers really are. Keep up the good work boys. I enjoy watching all the good surf videos.

I came on here to comment how hard he was charging. North Shore is so competitive when a skilled surfer like Kiron and Torey M are not are not more supported by the major brands. Well done all competitors!

Some of those backside drops where they are almost over vertical but somehow keep their fins in the water give me butterflies...I can't imagine how making one of those feels....my version would end going over my forward heel at the bottom losing the fins then catching my forward rail as i was whiplashed back that direction survival chances i would like to say %75 but i don't really think so

You really should not drink caffeine after an injury. It slows your healing time. My husband had a couple of injuries, including in his back. His physical therapist told him this and he hasn't haf caffeine in years and sleeps better. He works out 6 days a week and at age 50 he can do most of the things he used to at 20-35 years old. He wishes he had not overdone things in his younger years because he would be healthier now. Prayers for your health.
