    So true..big waves are so scary...l paddled out 6.6.2001 in wollongong, giant waves, 10ft apparently, struggled for 2 hours crying out of fear...never again !!!

    Guys!!! Glad your loving video!! That paddle out was classic! Kai got stuck at gums and had to do walk of shame! But made it out second try, even we have rough times here and there! Then that clean up holy shit! Literally 5 mins of beat downs! That big one i jumped on i was actually a bit worried haha my teeth are sore from hold gopro! Stoked tho! Making it to sand never felt so good! Get hyped for the next vid we flew to jaws that night!! Posting monday!

    Nathan Florence bro so gnarly. Great to read and watch this. Had a similar experience getting caught inside in San Diego today the waves were maybe only 6-8 feet but kept coming and sounded like bombs when they hit. Good to see and read it’s not only me haha.     I love how you left the padding out in uncut! I'm sure you have lots of professional help with this vlog :) I definitely need to update my "surf vlogs are on the rise" blog article I posted back in early 2018 (predicting this surf vlogger phenomenon - ha) to include yours and some others on the north shore!!!     Love that you show getting worked. Most surfers are too delicate and insecure to show what it's really like. The beatings make the glory that much better. Two days ago at crappy 5-7 ft LA beach break, it took me 45 minutes to get out and ended up a mile down from where I started the paddle. One wave was all it took to make the session worth it, haha. Keep up the great vids.

    It's so funny that the conversations, reactions and banter is all the same across all the surfing world. You hear the same talk with others getting caught inside on a crappy 6 foot day on the east coast as you do on a monster of a day at Pipe, it's amazing.
