Bro... you are sooo good at describing your craft. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard someone explain their techniques in such an articulate and visceral way. I’d imagine you would be an absolutely amazing commentator! Hopefully you’re never off a swell long enough for us to all find out tho. Thanks for this man

16:58 When you start thinking you can relate to Nate but then realise he towed Shipsterns when he was 15 😂😂😂

when you think about it. its not that crazy they started surfing imma say..... before the age of 6 they've been surfing. around 9 years hitting 15. Growing up with north shore power. That sounds just about right for chargers around that age.

@@scottsmith4145 of course, but you never know til you go, being uncomfortable in a situation like what was said means your going to progress slowly if at all, and taking those risks is how one gets better at something, in life or sports or both and that teaches how to fall the best way, not panic as much, gives one confidence in what’s next, teaches you to control emotions better and those are valuable things to help progress, and not hesitate as much, or not at all, that’s what gets one in trouble most and that’s for shit in and outta the water,.. this my opinion that’s all
im picking surfing back up and i love how honest you are about getting over the fear, you're awesome!!
You know the saying about “a smart person can understand complex things, but A GENIUS can EXPLAIN those complex things in a way that’s understandable” This is the perfect example of that! Nathan Florence could definitely be the BEST surf coach in the world someday or maybe even more like a “Surf Professor”!
Absolutely sick commentary. So psyched on your vibe, energy, and humble, educational message. My Groms have become huge fans as well. Thank you Nate! Blessings for you and all of your Ohana!! Congrats on your engagement Brah!! Yeeww 🤙
Thank you. Sometimes I come back from session without committing to anything and beating myself up and it hurts. This let me know that people like you go through this stuff. This gives me hope that I can overcome that overwhelming fear and my body not letting me paddle out. 🙏🤙🌊
Nate your generosity in sharing your knowledge and experiences is priceless. Love who you are and what you are about (and your infectious laugh) keep doing what you're doing mate, you're an inspiration on many levels especially during these times 🇦🇺
the legend is back with more SICK CONTENT! glad ur safe
Super interesting as usual ! I loved the part about the pipeline hierarchy. I'm really looking forward to watching the dedicated video about it !
Great video man, yeah a whole video on pipe's hierarchy would be awesome! thanks for your content
You're a living legend! Thank you for the videos
I'm only 20 mins in but this is one of the best things I've watched on youtube in ages. Strikingly honest, insightful, fun and unpretentious. Nice one fella.
A humble, intelligent, down to earth big time professional Surfer. Nice to see this.

I agree, it really is on a totally different level, def nit like Aussie, lol
I really appreciate you sharing such insightful moments & tips. This was really great to listen to and the advice was so good. For someone in their mid 20s, your maturity about your career is really astounding and admirable. The way you feel about your brothers and other surfers like Jamie is beautiful & your humbleness through all the highs and low makes me love you as a surfer & human even more. Thank you for sharing this with us all. ❤
hardly ever comment on yt but i gotta say nate you are one of the real ones, love your down to earthness, you seem like a really genuine guy, thanks for sharing your stories and keep charging for the rest of us who freak out in anything bigger than 3 feet haha
Appreciate your insight, historical perspective, and expertise very few will ever achieve, but only dream about. Glad you're enjoying the ride Nate. It's your time. Thanks so much for sharing brah.
Thanks for the insight and Takeing the time to lay it out for us. Your a Star!!!
The explanation of the mental shift is literally EXACTLY how I've been feeling getting over my fear of waves. Here in aus we have a lot of big swell generally and it's messy and steep on a good day, I've picked up surfing again after taking a break through my teens and I'm still handling my fear now but now I'm really good at getting beat down at least XD
You are such a great ambassador for this sport.
That was great to watch...thanks heaps and so many invaluable insights. Looking forward to more during this time of being couped up. Thanks legend!
Love it super helpful!!! Send the surf workouts and at home paddle workouts !!🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️😄😄

Love it, I want to get back into pool skating and get back to the park where I learned to drop in soon after I get a new deck. I'm beat up from some bad car accidents so i'm not as strong but I'm determined to not give up !!!

This is the best surf vlog there is right now in my opinion. I love listening to your own experiencies bro. Every time i go out there i remember your tips and i think it helps me a lot, particularly to not panic during wipeouts and to better understand what i did wrong.
