I did it in stages first stopped watching the news, then English movies, then English TV, then other foreign non-muslim movies and dramas, still ongoing alhamdulilah

my father is amazing he stopped me from watching movies and listening to or dancing to songs in an early age I always used to feel left out at my cousin's birthday parties etc and feel weird but now I understand properly why he did this I have always hated music and I never listen to it willingly Alhamdulillah because of my father's lessons and his way of upbringing me and my siblings

I haven’t had a to in my house for over 5 yrs now. Now when I watch tv in someone else’s places I see how bizarre the shows are, how vulgar the music is, how women are portrayed,how the lyrics are always abt intercourse. But when we had tv this was absolutely normal. We consumed it on a daily basis. Things that shouldn’t be normalised are being shown on tv almost on an hourly basis. Kids gets exposed to it all the time. It’s pure evil.

Alhamdulillah, i ended to stop tv and listen to haram music with my reverting to islam. Its now 12 years ago alhamdulillah and when i looked back, these movies are strange give you something bad. One of the last movies I saw was hunger games. Often i felt, that movies become realistic, its creepy. You see the way they want to manipulate you and thinking something. May allah protect all of us from this evil things like tv and music and bring us closer to Allah.
