The Saddest Cooking Show on Youtube
Ойын-сауық
Henry’s kitchen from comedian Henry Philips (Silicon Valley) has been running for over 12 years now with a loyal cult following. It begins as a simple, hilarious show about an idiot cooking recipes - but rather than expanding too much into other characters, situations, or twists, mostly delves deeper inward into painting a clearer, ever sadder picture of an odd, awkward, depressed man who 12 years on is still struggling to cook. And let me tell you, its funny as hell. Is it the funniest cooking show on the youtube? You tell me. But I'd say itd have to be the saddest cooking show on youtube.

You're amazing Henry, so glad to see you get recognition here! Also, you didn't mention his Highway Man series but those are great too. I've been meaning to ask Tim on OHL if he knows if Henry and if he could have him on. I imagine they would love talking music and such. Also Henry, is one of your influences Featureman?

Henry is absolutely hysterical!

Comments like this make me so fucking happy lol.. I love that so many people are/were saying this here. I recommended it to him a couple months prior to this video.. not saying that because I'm trying to take credit or anything lol(well, I guess I am to a small EXTENT, but I hope you know what I mean lol) you know how it is when you share something you love with someone and they actually appreciate it.. Was cool enough he appreciated it as much as I was hoping he would, but the best feeling in the world when I found it he liked it so much she was going to do a damn video on it lol. He of course, it did all the work and put all the time into the video, so he deserves all the credit, but it's still cool it was from my recommendation. It's like that feeling when you share something you love with somebody and they appreciate it just as much as you, but x50 lol.. still just as excited about this video as I wss in December lol. Isn't Henry's kitchen fucking amazing?? I see you check out highwaymen, too, right?
the pauses when he's just standing there quiet are hilarious!! the cut offs too. 🤣😂
Babe, new Admiral Gorgg dropped. Time to base my personality for the next month around whatever show he recommended.

Henry's Kitchen is a marvel of the human mind
Ive been on youtube for almost 2 decades. The algo knows me, and your vid was recommended on Christmas eve. Just wanted to share, im kinda stoked to watch this random vid.
I’m showing this to some friends in a group chat.
I went to a show of his In Toronto a long time ago. He's a great guy. So funny. Drank more than a few beers with him after the show.
Watching this again 6 months later, and it still makes me so damn happy lol. Literally one of the best feelings sharing something you love with somebody who you know /hope will appreciate it, and they actually do. Still can't believe you made a damn video on him lol. You brought so much more needed/deserved attention to him. And I know how you feel about being so late to it. I think I mentioned that to you last year, but I didn't even find him until about a year before that, via another kind sir on video comp of john from silicon valley. Henry needs to get a pitzmans deal/sponsorship lol. I guess it's because all of this stuff that you cover is pretty niche, but your subscriber count is still CRIMINALLY low.. this will be the last time I comment talking about it lol, but watching it now, I got just as excited about it all over again and had to express it lol.
Henry's Kitchen is a masterpiece, and Henry Phillips is a genius. Check out Highway Man, another Phillips masterwork. It's just as hilarious
Man you have my sense of humor pinned! You should check out some of his other work. I found him from his movie Punching the Clown which is great, also he had a show on JASH I believe called You and your f*cking coffee, which might be my favorite. Lastly, from his stand up he does a song called Sweet Little Blossom of Mine that is amazing! Great video, love your channel!
Can’t wait to watch it. Already laughing out loud!

@@InturnetHaetMachine fuck yeah! Home movies kicks ass! And thanks! I know people use literally completely wrong these days, but sharing/recommending something I love/find absolutely hilarious/am just passionate about with someone(legit anyone else, friend family or strangers) is literally one of my favorite feelings.. I feel like it is for everyone, probably.. I guess it's kind of an unspoken bond, in a way? Idk. but recommending one of my favorite things ever.. definitely my favorite comedy KZread channel ever, to a like minded dude making kickass videos about kickass shows...and then for him to not only love it, but make a goddamn video on it, is legit one the coolest Christmas presents I've ever gotten(obviously, I realize it's not "for me".. nor even about me at all.. but still) All that made exponentially better, with the plethora of comments from people now turned onto it, after watching the video. Especially because despite showing it to many of my friends, none of them seem to find it even remotely as funny as I do. Well, besides my father. Which I guess is really no surprise.. if you're watching this channel, you probably have a pretty awesome sense of humor.

@@ldawg7117 Well put, I think what makes it better for us is that the what we like is a bit rare. Like I've recommended "I think you should leave" to some people and they don't like it at all. Meanwhile, while I would occasionally chuckle at good, funny shows, I'm crying laughing at ITYSL. So whenever I find someone who shares my odd sense of humor, it's a great feeling.

@@AdmiralGorgg like you said the video, there's something just so awesome and fulfilling about finding something you really thoroughly enjoy/love..even more so, when you actually get to share it with somebody who ends up loving it just as much as you do, whether it's a friend family or stranger. That, and I'm also almost ashamed / disappointed to say I didn't even discover him until about 2 years ago. I had the same reaction as you "how the hell did I not already know about this shit?" I have to make a recommendation here, please think about doing a video on Red Letter Media 🙏🏻. It would fit so perfectly into your series of great videos about great shows, and they are one of the OG’s. Ironically, Tim Heidecker even has a guest appearance in an RLM episode. Thanks for your great videos! I have become obsessed with On Cinema since your initial video about it. It feels like it was made for my sense of humor. I had been vaguely familiar somehow but knew nothing of it or its true crazy depths. I had even seen Mister America and stupidly didn’t realize its background was real. I also watched all of Review, which I had seen some of during its run but again didn’t know the true depths of. Thanks for handing me the endless well of laughs on a silver platter. A Red Letter Media video would be so great, there is a lot to dig into there. 🙏🏻
