The Unusual Origins of Adult Swim's DECKER Explained
Ойын-сауық
Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington's "Decker" on Adult Swim is a hilarious spy parody (of sorts) in its own right -- But taking into account it’s surrounding context, its incredible how much effort was put into really earning the show’s “so bad its funny” approach. In case you didn’t know, what makes Decker unique is that it is a show written by and starring fictional characters from another show, On Cinema at the Cinema, on which the series’ entire production saga is discussed and documented. The goal for this video is to fill in those gaps for the first season, Decker Classified. AKA explain the origins of this show and where it came from.
Featuring --------------------
Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric: Awesome Show, Great Job! Jordan Peele's Us, Tim Heidecker's Office Hours, Eastbound and Down, Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories, The Comedy)
Gregg Turkington (Neil Hamburger, Rick Alverson's Entertainment)
Joe Estevez (Decker: Port of call Hawaii, Decker vs Dracula, Decker Unclassified, Decker Unsealed, Decker Mindwipe, Doonby, Rollerblade 7)
Mark Proksch (What We do in the shadows, better call saul, the office)
Decker: Classified (Decker Season 1)

Decker's somewhat explicit liver operation on Kington who Decker claims has ruined it due to too much movie popcorn salt, much to the codebreaker's and actor's chagrin.
One of my favorite Decker jokes is in one of the later seasons, Tim apparently thinks Pearl Harbor is located in Japan despite the fact that he visited Pearl Harbor in season 2.

The best aspect of Joe Esteves’ character is that he has apparently never seen a movie that he wasn’t acting in. Which makes him the ideal co-host for On Cinema movie reviews
Tim has come a long way from Lightning Fast VCR repair. Good for him.

yes please continue talking about decker. would honestly love a video about the tripp spencer saga because that was such a fun development and argument between tim and gregg over a character that didn't even get to exist. idk how anyone could truly get stuck into on cinema's world without twitter because the first time my partner and i went through this series we had no idea who tripp spencer even was, then suddenly he's in the animated adventures of decker pilot instead of kington, lol also my favorite running gag on decker is when tim or gregg break the fourth wall when something they don't like happens during filming. like gregg picking JB007 as a code (Tim: no pick a different code) or Gregg's disgust and anger whenever Dekkar or Dr. San end up being characters on Decker in the later series. It's so good

I think the most important part of this video is about Gregg's coding system for VHS tapes which is discussed at 14:40 in the video. I would use this for my personal VHS home collection if it exceeded a milk crate in the corner of my room. I'm saving up to visit the VFA!
Dr San is with us!!
I clicked expecting a clickbait montage or ytp type of thing. Ended up watching an interesting essay on how On Cinema (which i've only watched parts of) is best watched in tandem with Decker. How did I never draw the connection between Decker and The West Wing??
You say tim met Marc 2 months before the Oscar special he 1st features in, but is that true? I could swear it was Marc that played the bandleader with the tape recorder all the way back in tom goes to the mayor...I'm also 100% sure he shows up in a short recreation of Tom goes to the mayor that was on an episode of awesome show, where Eric as the mayor starts freaking out and beating his computer/desk because Marc/bandleader won't turn off his tape recorder music. I could be wrong....but I think I'm right!!
Are you kidding? This hit piece on one of the greatest action heroes in cinema is sad. Decker is a true patriot with a strong message that the founding fathers would love. The acting is spot on showing Tims range and versatility. The special effects in the dracula sequel were terrifying. I think you are seriously jealous. Perhaps a little decker derangement syndrome.
