By necessity our militaries specialise because we all have limited resources. This makes us even more dependent on each other. And, frankly, given what sort of leaders we have, we are not so dependible.

It’s depressing hearing an ex- army officer talking about effective combined operations whilst knocking the other two services. By implication saying that the RN and RAF have sufficient equipment and personnel, which is clearly nonsense. The entire Defence budget is insufficient given the current threat. All three armed forces are under equipped and undermanned and we are not well served by armchair ex-warriors trying to stir up inter-service rivalry.

British Army officers are not immune from tunnel vision. If their senior officers think they are going to mastermind ops in the next conventional war they are sadly mistaken as their only large force experience is on PowerPoint and whiteboards. 70,000 troops actually means at best 15,000 combat troops barely equal to the manpower of 1 US division but having barely the tank and artillery units of one third of one US armored brigade.

If we only have 70,000 personnel in the army, then it confirms my LONG HELD (20 years!) SUSPICIONS, that we need to QUADRUPLE our army, QUADRUPLE or navy, and (at least) TRIPLE our airforce! The ONLY WAY to do this is to bring NATIONAL SERVICE back! Bring back the military disciplines that built this country! This will also provide manpower for CIVIL institutions that also need staff! The NHS, agriculture, the care sector, and MANY OTHER aspects of British life! Give ALL immigrants, legal AND illegal, the OPPORTUNITY to EARN citizenship with 3 years SERVICE! I have been plotting this solution for the last TEN YEARS!

An exhibition of captured military hardware from NATO countries that kicked off in front of the Victory Museum at Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow features 32 units of various armored equipment. "The exhibition presents various examples of seized military equipment which were captured by Russian servicemen in the special military operation zone. In all, there are 32 items," Andrey Lyubchikov, senior researcher with Russia’s Central Armed Forces Museum, said. For instance, the exhibition features a German-made Leopard 2 tank, an American Abrams, a Bradley fighting vehicle, М113 and MaxxPro, a Turkish-made BMC Kirpi, a UK-made Mastiff, a CV90 combat vehicle from Sweden, as well as many others captured by the Russian servicemen during the special military operation. The exhibition also displays firearms, documents, maps, gear and drones.

One key balance act overlooked is the conquering country absorbs all the resources of the dominated country and used to take the fight forward. The battlefront struggle seem balanced currently but should Ukraine yield, all Ukraine resources (arms and men) will be absorbed and used against neighbouring countries. They did that in the Donbas oblast forcing the remaining population to fight against Ukraine. Russian fighting power can snowball from strength to strength. By the time it reaches France and England, it is not just Russians tanks and men, It will be ALL of Europe's tanks and men vs UK.

A complete collapse, blackout of Ukrainian territory was arranged for the unwanted pensioner PrezeZelensky and "Kharkovoblenergo" (russia could not do this) disconnecting the electricity for several months in order to close his mouth and freedom of speech. And everything is covered by law enforcement officers and the DBI of Ukraine.

Russia is a serial loser. Russia lost WW1, the Polish Russian war in the early 1920s, Cold War, Russian war against Afghanistan, Russo-Japanese War of 1905. And even when they win, like the Russo-Finnish war in WW2, they lost huge amounts of men, and their international reputation.

Quote "Putin a modern day Hitler determined to head West". This war could have been stopped in April 2022 but the Istanbul deal was nixed by NATO with Boris Johnson being the one who delivered the news to Zelensky. That deal didn't involve any loss of territory for Ukraine but Ukraine was to be neutral with no NATO presence and to stop abusing the ethnic Russians living in Ukraine. Putin didn't want the land then and probably isn't that bothered now but he wants NATO out and is heading west to do that.
