    I just retired from 37 years of building and maintaining MRI machines. I’ve always evaluated images based on image quality ( resolution/contrast range etc..) now I’m freshly recovering from a supraspinatus impingement and it’s very helpful to see those weighted images against pathology… Good video..thanks😊

    Recently I was diagnosed with a full width full thickness tear measuring around 2 cm of the distal supraspinatus tendon. Doctor told me it was not going to heal on its own which by looking at the MRI I agreed and decided to do the surgery. It was painful of course but necessary if I had any chances of rising my right arm over my head again. The hardest part of the process is post-surgery re-hab. I am 6 months in, but it took about 4 months to get range of motions to about 80 percent. I am now slowly working on strength with the caution of not re-tearing it again. Still some soreness every now and then but minimum. Glad I made the decision to get it repaired.

    I had a terrible torn rotator cuff from a really hard fall, whereas I could barely sleep for two months because of the constant excruciating pain, but I wanted to find a better way and I didn't want to take any painkillers, because of my stance on them. I found a highly qualified massage therapist that found the muscles and tendons, and so forth (tissue? ligaments?) were shortened and stuck together around my clavicle and triceps brachii, while also concentrated attention to the acromion ridge. There are lymph nodes in some of those places, like under the arm, that should not be overworked by massage so it's important to get someone who knows what they are doing. Along with this, I did an ancient Qi Gong, Ba Gua basic beginning exercise from a highly qualified master that I had learned years before, called, 'Serving Tea to the Master,' which involves moving scapula energy around, and I made a natural 100% quick recovery without any surgery or any other physical therapy. Wish I knew it from the onset avoiding the 2 month of agony and torment. I also used generous ice and arnica gel. This moving of the scapula energy, which can be achieved through other qigong, tai chi, and kung fu exercises and practices nicely, heals, treats, cures, and addresses a great many other maladies and injuries, including for the mind and the spirit. THE HEALER IS WITHIN!!

    Thank you! I have a question, How can I get the humerus down again in a quite normal position? Whats the best muscle exercise for that goal and maybe what are the best stretch exercises aditionally? I've been having this problem of an impinchment for 4 Months now, already stretching chest and subscapularis, exercising for the strengthening the supraspinatus, but seems not to work perfectly.

  • @DoctorKlioze

    @DoctorKlioze

    Жыл бұрын

    With impingement, your daily activities and the configuration of the acromion are probably more of a factor then the position of the humeral head in the glenoid fossa. Daily activities involving a lot of overhead activities (i.e. painting, carpentry or swimming) move the greater tuberosity and the regional tendons towards the acromion and can result in repetitive trauma or impingement. In fact, impingement syndrome is also known as Swimmer's shoulder! This is especially true if you have a congenitally small sub acromial space due to a type III acromion that curves down towards the top of the humerus. While I would always encourage exercise to strengthen the joint, I would avoid a lot of overhead movements or exercises that may exacerbate your condition. You may also need to talk to an orthopedist to see if you have a congenitally small acromiohumeral space that would benefit from surgical revision. If the shoulder actually sit right under the acromion (loss of the acromiohumeral interval), you may actually have a chronic tear of the supraspinatus which would need repair to alleviate symptoms. Hope that helps!

    Great.. well, this explains a lot about my injury.. Having a background in suspension and chassis brings me to the belief that the human body is just way too fragile.. yeah.. 4.5 months and I'm being sent for contrasting MRI.. This vid helps me understand the hows and why this thing hurts so much.. well duh.. Fracture has healed, range of motion not so much. Injuries like rotator, coupled with social distancing, and the fact I'm a 57 yr old work-o-holic, causes more mental stresses than anything else.. I am sooooo very bored.. Can't even get into the garage because my projects require use of both arms.. and seeing as how my dominant side is essentially shut down doesn't help. But the video helped a bunch!!!! Thanks for some clarification. I'm sure my Doc will explain further.. but I like immediate answers.. part of my personality disorder.. lol

    I have a winged scapula. Doctors have said you cannot dislocate your scapula, according to this video the ladomus Dorsey it's supposed to go over the tip of the scapula to keep it close to the rib cage. Obviously my scapula is not under the ladomus Dorsey . Is there any way to relocate the scapula back under the ladomus Dorsey? I did have an injury where I thrust my arm over the car seat to look behind the wall backing up oh, but I forgot to unhitch my shoulder strap before doing so. It was one of them old 1972 Ford Mavericks before they had the flexible shoulder strap. The seat belt shoulder strap was fixed solid in place. I heard a loud pop when I trust my arm over the seat to look behind me, to backup my car.

    I'm two weeks post third rotator cuff repair (2nd on my right shoulder). Supraspinatus torn, subscapularis torn, and the long head of the bicep tendon basically "jumped the train tracks", as it were...in other words it sort of became dislocated from where it normally travels. So, in other words, it can be one or many of the rotator cuff complex that get damaged.

Full repair of the infraspinatus and NO repair of the Full thickness tear of the Supraspatinus. Hoping the NON repair of the Supraspantis will not effect my golf swing !!?? • @DoctorKlioze

    @DoctorKlioze

    4 жыл бұрын

    Frozen shoulder is when the joint capsule becomes thickened and inflamed and possible adherent to the components of the rotator making movement very painful or impossible. Also known as adhesive capsulitis. Mild cases can sometimes be treated with an intra-articular injection of lidocaine and steroids but often times the shoulder needs to be forcibly manipulated in the OR under anesthesia to break up the adhesions and restore function. Does that make sense?

  • @DoctorKlioze

    @DoctorKlioze

    4 жыл бұрын

    Acromion type only classifies the configuration or curvature of the acromion bone. Surgery is not necessary unless you're symptomatic and the resulting narrowed acromiohumeral interval is damaging the rotator cuff. Other than surgery, resting the shoulder and anti-inflammatory medications may temporarily alleviate symptoms but won't cure the problem.
