Idk man, for the longest time while I always appreciated the Beatles I was never really onboard the hype train that it was and always thought nope…the Rolling Stones for sure if this is even a thing that could be measured would be the best but even though obviously I still think nothing of the best of the stones it’s reallllly not true man and without the Beatles whether they are your cup of tea or not we wouldn’t even be talking about any of this and they really were the prototype for all of this and an insanely talent filled band of songwriters and that remains the case even though they don’t even have a fraction of the longevity that the stones had

Being more of a blues and rock person myself I always originally favored the stones but even so, not that I think you can measure something as subjective as who is the greatest band of all time, but I still think if you could actually measure that it always was and always will be the Beatles. Just think of how many great bands, stones included all who if not directly inspired by the Beatles, had the path paved for them even find success by the Beatles literally revolutionizing the entire industry, and then all these bands that were inspired by or found success because of the path the Beatles paved then went on to inspire all kinds of other bands and genres and so on. I mean even ozzy osbourne, the frontman of a group who basically founded an entire genre of music, metal, and inspired all kinds of different offshoot always imagined himself being a 5th member of the Beatles. But yeah, it’s not a knock on the stones, they are still probably one of my all time favorite bands alongside the doors and the who

I also saw them back '82 '83, In Houston, too. The HA's came in and made the way to the stage and we were already sardines and a girl fell and people were stepping on her killing her . I was right there and started swinging my elbows and getting hit in the face . Some other dudes saw what I was doing and started to swing elbows, too. We got her up over are heads and the crowd got her to someone that could help her. A proud moment in my life!

Saw them March 29th..second night. Hartford ct. No security tour..Monday night.. the goo..goo..dolls. Opened the show... stones opened the show with Jumpin..jack. flash..

Stones are the jolly of Rock and Roll. Pure vibration.

What I always thought. He uses it like a character, snarling, talking...so much more interesting than standard rock star howling.

1971 as a 13 year old ,I first heard Get Your Ya Ya 's Out. And the Rhythmic beat of Midnight Rambler and the sorrowful sound of All Your Loves In Vain hooked me and to this day I'm still Rockin with Mick and the Boyz ! Rip Charlie Boy !

Back in the 60's..you had to learn your craft as a band...us Ian ect..playin clubs..practicing ect. None of this American idol malarky.. notice? How the beatles gave the stones..the one song 🎵..I personally think..was one of their worst ever..I don't even call it a beatles record.. I wanna be your man!! Uggghh! I'm sorty everyine..I personally always thought that beatles song blew chunks personally. No wjnder!!! They gave it to the stones . But will admit..andrew oldham..at only 19..was a pure genius. Taking the stones to where he took them..his vision...at such a young age..

@@bebebrez-kal9136 RFK? That was the Opening date of the tour. Although they played in a club in Worcester Mass a few days before that. I was at that one. Sir Morgan's Cove. They were billed as Blue Monday and the Cockroaches. I have seen the one you were at on video many times. Great show that must've been.

Such happy music. They always get the adrenaline racing. Always loved them since 1962. I remember listening to I'm Alright live way back in the morning. It got me going far better than any cup of coffee ever could!

I have and will always love the Rolling Stones. The Stones were from the gamut of the British Isles: Brian Jones (Welsh) Mick Jagger (Englishman) Charlie Watts (English Gentleman) Keith Richards (Welsh & English) Bill Wyman (English) Ian Stewart (Scottish & the the rightful Laird of Pittenweem). I know way too much about them! I could never get enough Stones. Oh yeah, let's not forget Andrew Loog-Oldham (American & British).

After reading Keith's book "Life" it's pretty obvious the Stones as a unit are over. Bill's not with them anymore and Keith and Mick don't even maintain dressing rooms near each other. It's just an institution anymore. They earned it.

Not necessarily. My friends operate a huge bus company here and they do most of the star coachs. These huge bands all have their own busses and own dressing rooms. Like Billy Idol and Steve Stevens and GnR,Gene Simmons said Paul have different dressing rooms. Lifestyle changes and families. Prince always had a private coach. I was lucky to meet him when my friends still drove some.

I don't know who researched this, but there is a lot of misinformation. For instance, I've just watched the section about Wild Horses and how it was Mick's song about Marianne. It was actually Keith's song about leaving his kids to go touring. Yes, Mick re-wrote the lyrics and it became about his breakup but it was inspired by Keith leaving his son Marlon.

Yes and The Beatles didn't go to India in 1967 before Sgt.Pepper's. They went in 1968 and wrote The White Album. I enjoy the clips, but there is much inaccurate in this doc.

DOCUMENTARY ERROR: At about 8:00 in video, the statement "The Beatles went to India before they recorded Sargent Peppers", is historically incorrect. The Beatles actually went to India about a year later. Then they came back with a backlog of songs they had written and started recording the double album, The White Album.

Before Bill joined, Charlie was not part of the group. He played a few gigs but the group had to pay him. Read the book Life by Keith Richards. And to be honest they were aiming for the Vox amplifier Bill owned. But Bill, then still knows as William Perks, came along with the amp.

Very well produced video. I thought I saw them all. Great content. Came at it with a bit of a twist which made it seemingly fresh. Nothing but MAD RESPECT for THE ROLLING STONES. Mick is unbelievable. Combine his intelligence, his business acumen (London School of Economics), showmanship & his athleticism (former Cross Country runner) with songwriting skills----- oh man. Their music has "picked up" so many people via sheer entertainment that its simply amazing and continues to this day. The ONLY complaint I have about them that takes them down a notch as people is why haven't they made DARRYL JONES a full member of the band? He's been with them for around 25+ years. I find that abhorrent actually.

Just to say a few words. This documentary was positively made together with the Saarchi gallery exhibition “Exhibitionism”... I was there I bought VIPpass on July 2015 and finally went in April 2016 when it opened ( so yes I am a FAN, considering I was traveling to London from Italy), but still I clearly had in mind a thing. The Stones celebrated their 50th anniversary with a very LOW KEY ( but beautiful exhibition) called Stones 50 at Somerset House in London- needless to say was there too... but then about the same time Bowie was doing his exhibition (Bowie IS) at the V&A museum, setting what is called a standard for any rock memorabilia exhibition to come after ( I.e. PinkFloyd’s “their mortal remains - boring borderline to necrophiliac- show later always at V&A)... As you can imagine I am a rock enthusiast lucky enough to travel to London and attend those shows , or even more obscure rock memorabilia events (such as photo exhibitions at Snap gallery), but still I think that Rolling Stones exhibitionism show was alike a “jealous” answering to Bowie’s very SEMINAL show who was the cornerstone for all the others...

How cool would it be if the stones did a song about the beatles?

I feel that rock bands should be politicians as well.....could not do any worse.....

When asked why he had kept playing in the band for so long, Keith said because he enjoyed it. That's only a partial answer because the truth is also - because of the (BIG) money they make. They make more than any other band, probably including the Beatles, although it seems to me that McCartney is worth more than any other musician. But you'd have to include his incomes from other non-Beatles sources of income. It'd be difficult to try and figure out how much any Beatle or Stone makes just from being in their particular band. The Stones have surpassed EVERYONE as far as income and profit from touring/performing.

Um...The fabs went to India after Pepper, February 1968, where they basically wrote the White Album. Otherwise, fun doc.

Interesting documentary but there is way too much focus on Mick and Keith, with barely a mention of Charlie and Bill. The Rolling Stones are essentially those four men with the addition of Mick and Ronnie later. Without Charlie's fantastic drumming, and Bill's equally wonderful bass playing, the Stones would never have sounded like they do. It's a very deep partnership.

Why so little Stones music in this film? Royalties?

95% of these documentaries on the stones seem to always skip over the impact of the song As tears go by I don't get it. I know faithfull released it first but it was the first jagger/richards song they wrote as a collaboration.

Ron Wood Played bass in the original Jeff Beck Group along with Rod Stewart, and then played guitar in The Faces also with Rod Stewart, after Steve Marriot Left the Small Faces. Then they just became The Faces.

me i liked the brian jones period up till 71 then i went into black blues mainly except early canned heat they were special & a lot more than blues,but i liked the experimentation after brian on those 4 lps. so rip brain & charlie not heard anyone say a bad word about charlie most likeable peace...

Mick and Kieth claimed songwriting but Brian wrote Paint it Black She’s a rainbow Yesterday’s Papers Brian and Charlie made the band
