Nice, I just dropped a Beauty 8 pointer here in Vt 2 days ago with my Remington 7600 35 Whelen, one shot blew him rite over, and the shot was even a little high over the shoulder, and didnt hit his heart, but Man O Man that 35 Whelen round is a powerful monster of a round!

Yes indeed it's powerful!! Anytime I see or hear of someone using a 35 Whelen I know for certain he's a very serious hunter.

@@STICKBOW-STEVE I’m 35 years old now, and got my hunting license when I was 7, and shot my first Buck that opening weekend with my grandfather, he mounted it for me, and he actually wrote an article about it and got it published in the sportsman’s outdoor magazine, and since that day about 27 years ago, I’ve been hooked on hunting. I live the North East and started going in the woods hunting by my self when I was 12, and I’ve had a lot of older men tell me that I would be a great hunter one day when I was young, and just last year I brought my Pop who is now retired from hunting because he’s in his 80’s, down my 8 pointer I got with my 35 Whelen, and his exact words to me were “I’m so proud of the Hunter and man that you’ve become bud” just makes me so proud! thinking of the day I got my first deer with him almost 30 years ago, to the couple I missed with him, and all the hunting Trips in between, he just makes me so proud, and thank you for everything Pop I absolutely cherish all of those moments with you!

Excellent reply. I am now 63, my dad passed 2009... Miss him. I have done good in Maine at my camp dad and I built in their backyard 1985. My camp is 8x20. Comfy n very warm. Done great these last 4 years in Maine. 2019 8 pt 150 with BAR 338, 2020 8 pt 190 with AR 450 bushmaster, 2021 finally made the patch club 12 pt 221 with BAR 338, and first 3 hours 2022 8 pt 214 with the BAR 270 WSM. 2 PATCH BUCKS IN BACK TO BACK YEARS!! WOW... and I shoot the 1st legal buck I see! Gotta luv these memories and father/son memories.

The next time you put your gun on a signpost to demonstrate. I hope a big buck doesn't go running through the woods. When your gun isn't in your hands.
