Legendary Tracker & Big Game Hunter Rick Labbe - Stories & Strategies To Inspire All-Around Hunters

Ойын-сауық

Big Woods Bucks team member Rick Labbe, a descendant of the famous Comanche Indian war leader Quanah Parker, is a legendary big game hunter and one of the best all around hunters in North America today. He lives life to the fullest, loving his family, working hard and hunting and fishing as much as he can. He's shot 7 whitetail bucks grossing over 170 inches, and over 50 bucks that weighed more than 200 lbs (and TWO 300 POUNDERS)! At least 26 of the 200 pounders were taken in the hard to hunt Northeast by tracking. He's gone a perfect 20 for 20 with his bull elk tags, harvesting mostly mature 6x6's and has taken 8 bull moose, 18 black bear (with 3 over 500 lbs!) a grizzly bear, more than 200 bobcats, hundreds of coyotes, 3 mountain lions, a wolf, and countless North American game. When he hunts the Northeast, he's partial to the ancient art of tracking, perhaps in part due to his Indian ancestry. He also enjoys archery hunting, spot and stalking, using his muzzleloader and running hounds. He's a great backcountry snowmobiler, he rides horseback, and he can fix most anything that breaks down. It's my pleasure to bring you this discussion with Rick Labbe!

Rick reminds me of my friends uncle who recently passed away, he was also my friend always a pleasure to see and hunt with and boy he told the best stories and if you started trading stories you were locked in for a minimum hour 😂 bet this was probably one of the easiest podcast you ever had to do lol

Hey Rock is awesome you on a good recovery it was scary to watch. When I seen Mike's car up on the side of your car basically at your window all I could think his bumper entered your cock pit. And when I seen Mike run up to your car I got a upset stomach. As a fellow racer and a big fan of you and the rest of the boys it hits home. Just glad your doing well. 👍

This was absolutely killer, Ricks raw enthusiasm is infectious. One thing, I would dearly love to pick this guy's brain a little more about still hunting western Whitetails. I'm from northern Alberta and do some tracking when the situation is prime for it, a little trail watching when I'm forced to, but I've been mostly still hunting the boreal foothills for almost 20 years... I bet this guy would be a very rare goldmine of wisdom on the type of hunting that I do.

Great interview. I only recently discovered Rick lives just a few mile down the road from me! I grew up hunting in Eastern Connecticut. Sure is different and much more difficult hunting up here. I have many acres to hunt from my door, woods are thick as can be. Finally shot one last year here. I'll bet Rick has parked right next to my house to hunt bobcats or even deer!

This is a real hunter , not the TV stars with face paint hunting in a farm where deer are raised till harvest like cattle. In when you say you got a deer they don't ask about antler score they ask "what did it weigh?"
