Hunt Suburbia

Hunt Suburbia

We're addicted to whitetail deer, and we aren't alone. Just because we live in the suburbs doesn't mean there aren't ample hunting opportunities to chase some really nice whitetails. We will talk a lot about suburban hunting, but we'll also talk about hunting the big woods, mountains, and foothills. There will be something for everyone here. This channel is a place to come and share stories about your addiction, have some fun, and learn something along the way. From podcasts to hunting videos we want to build a community of hunters, from newbies to pros. Our goal is to introduce more people to hunting who can pass on this amazing way of life to the next generation to ensure that we have the numbers to conserve land, deer populations, and opportunity for future generations of hunters. If you are a newb and want to learn, we welcome you with open arms because WE NEED YOU! If you are experienced, WE NEED YOU to mentor the next generation, and let's face it you still have a lot to learn.

    No offense to your podcast, but I am not impressed with Drew. I have never personally met him, but from the first time I saw him on video a few years ago showed me the kind of person he is. The video showed the guys getting the vehicle buried because there was still snow and the frost was coming out. That is so disrespectful to the landowner. That is how land gets closed off to the public and will send Maine into an official "shed season" like they have out west. I know for a fact that he hasn't changed since then. I know Sally, and she gave him so many chances to grow up, showed him nothing but hospitality, but she got sick of his drama but still got dragged into it anyway. She is definitely not one to lie about anything and she told me about that day in question and I have absolutely no doubt she's telling the correct version of events. This was just a few weeks ago. So he has not changed as he claims he has. In my estimation, Drew would make a great politician. He spews nothing but bs and always tries to make the other "guy" look bad. He has burned lots of bridges. He needs to take a class on ethics and actually let it sink in.

    I'm not hating on this guy. I've seen the state get it wrong before. I know deer can go twenty miles a day no problem. When the does are hot it's game on. This guy will get his day in court, and I hope he is innocent. If he's not he will get the penalty the Judge gives him.

    This guys mentality is why so many places have early season shed hunting bans now, if it’s going to be a competition between “shed hunters” to get to spots first the moose will be getting over harassed in the worst time of year.

    With all the laws CJ has broken it's highly unlikely he killed that buck legally. This happens all the time but a really big deer like this brings a lot more attention. A big buck was killed in my state many years ago and was on the cover of North American whitetail magazine and was killed in bow season. A friend of mine knows the guy and said he actually killed it with a shotgun. It's disgusting. It happens so often that when someone does it the right legal way there is still suspicion.

    Im an ohio landowner close to that location. I have been saying since the 80s that someday ohio will kill the next world record. It would have been great for land values if it were legit. I already know whitetail properties is focusing in on that area becaue of that deer. Now myself i hope in rhe end its legit but im starting to believe he took the deer in a shady way. I will wait till all the evidence comes out ...that is if they let it. You know how corrupt the justice system is.

    CJ & his entire circle he runs with have an established reputation of trespassing, spot lighting, stealing stands & cameras. They’re main claim to fame around there is they trespass onto County owned & Municipal owned properties that do not allow hunting. It’s just really hard knowing his established reputation to believe he could be innocent. Its not a surprise at all he was charged with these crimes, plus he was obsessed with becoming famous in the hunting community & making a name for himself.

    Hey I'm watching your podcast I'm watching you talk about this it wasn't a DA that was hunting the deer it was a game warden and he was out for blood he didn't know who killed it but when CJ popped up with it on a podcast the game warden was out for blood I do think there's a lot going on behind the scenes that we do not know

  • @HuntSuburbia
    @HuntSuburbia5 күн бұрын

    What property was the game warden hunting? If it is near the DA property / Landrum / LT Land Dev properties, there is no way CJ could have killed it legally. I would be out for blood too if I had one of the few legal access / permissions to hunt a deer like that and saw someone killed it who didn't have the access.

    Excellent break down and will look forward to the legal process take it's course on this. Poaching is pretty wide spread here in New England - one just has to sit out of a Walmart in MA that sells deer corn to see who is baiting - pretty obvious. Would be interesting to hear from some Game Wardens here on cases they have broke.

CJ keeps his story so straight podcast to podcast and if he is guilty that’ll be really disturbing. If he’s guilty then CJ needs to be a salesman because he could sell ice to an Eskimo.

For him to go on podcasts and blatantly brag of his accomplishment, his narcissistic personality needs a serious correction. Very good job with breaking this down, I have also been following this since I first heard of this poaching incident. We all have these types of outlaws in our area and seen how they operate, I knew CJ was one of them since I listened to his very first story of the hunt, we all know what it takes to get a decent Buck legally and from the moment CJ opened his mouth red flags were going up everywhere. I strongly believe he took that record buck at night time like he did the buck at the church and probably many more illegal bucks that have gone under the radar.

    If 23 charges made it through a grand jury, whose job is to look at the evidence and decide if there is enough evidence to convict in a trial, then the state must have solid evidence. If they don't have GPS data from cell phones, or trail cam pictures from the area that prove CJ and/or the buck were in the Landrum Oil area on November 9th and 10th, or pictures recovered from his or Cory's phone that prove they were in that area, then he could prove his innocence. But the grand jury bringing the charges means they have to have that evidence, in which case he is going to be dead to rights. I imagine he is going to take a plea deal and plead guilty and this wont even make it to trial, when he sees the evidence they have.
