I think you should be allowed to be happy about The Rock & Roman. Everyone is different but it’s also important to understand how these types of business practices is exactly why we don’t get the chance to have actual superstars anymore. Because the day to day wrestlers get their legs cut from underneath them. We’ve finally gotten to the point where we don’t NEED to rely on legends to “save” events. Having The Rock would be a blessing not a necessity.

@allycat99 It's not a one for one comparison because the late 80s were like 10 years before 1998. This comparison would make more sense if it were Cena taking Cody's spot sense Cena was big 10 years ago. It would be more like a big Wrestling star from the 1970s like Bob Backlund or Bruno Sammartino taking Stone Cold Steve Austin's spot in 1998. That would be a better comparison because likewise, The Rock really hasn't been relevant for 20 something years now.

It is also confusing when during the post RR news conference Paul Levesque was saying how amazing the current roster is and how it was fun and challenging it is to give everyone their time in the spotlight to then bring in a legend feels contradictory.

This does make sense if they wanted to have a longer rivalry between Roman & Rock, but another effect of this would be Cody's victory being unearned. With such build up to Cody having to earn it I don't think this is the payoff they would want.

He only came back when he had a few unsuccessful business ventures and when he isn't doing well at the box office. This couldve been easily prevented if Cody hadn't won the rumble. Cody is undoubtedly the top star THE GUY. We were at the point where we don't need nostalgic stars returning to comeback for main events. Now the rock is back. Damn

Can y’all stop with the narrative. The rock only movie that didn’t do well was black Adam’s and it still did over 300mil. I wouldn’t consider that not doing well. This is simply the only time that he has available due to the writers strike. All of the movies that he’s about to start working on start in the summer. He has Moania live action, Fast X part 2, Jumanji 3, Jungle Cruise 2, etc. I’m almost positive this is why they are doing this year vise next because he simply has the time now and won’t next year. Personally if I was him I would just say screw it and not do it with the way the fans have been disrespectful to not only him but his daughter as well.

Jungle Cruise is getting a second movie lmao young rock did 3 seasons, that’s a fail? Especially when the show has a limit because it’s about his life and covered a big portion of it already. To summarize this Rock just told Cody to trust him on this, on the tv series “Young Rock” Dwayne was telling the story how Triple H was questioning him in the ring but Rock said “trust me” and by doing so it benefitted both wrestlers. I hate typing paragraphs but it’s something to think about and let’s for sure appreciate what they are doing even when it isn’t in our favor. “The goal may still be the same, but the route may have to take a few different turns”.

Everyone that rock vs roman will just say " just let it play out" cause they know they're moving in this direction.

Fans are very perceptive but not very logical, they try to justify their feelings on the rumble or that it doesnt make sense or whatever, but I think its pretty simple, we've been invested in Cody's story and we accepted his lose on the basis that he would get his victory, the hero finally conquering the cheating villain, but right when all the cards are in place, they just switch it for a bigger "money match" and fans cant help but feel betrayed, like this is just agiant kick in the nuts, cause it is and thw ptsd is real considering it happened before with Punk and Rock, almost with Bryan and Batusta, it happened with Bryan Roman vs Brock, so do I think WWE is this stupid? No but I dont give them too much credit because they have been short sighted and capable of stupid things, just look at Roman from 2015 to 2019, pretty much destroyed the damn place for years, so I dont think they are stupid but neither this brilliant mastermind that predicted this would happened, they just thought that Rock vs Roman is the bigger money match, and it is, its just not the right time because right now... well right now we want cody, I guess we shall wait to see what happens thursday

My problem with all of this is Cody's triumph (if it finally happens) will not be as huge at Summerslam (if that's the plan) as it will be at Mania. At the end of the day it's the Grandest Stage of them all. After Cody's win at Summerslam people will only exhale instead of celebrating it. Yeah, they will cheer for him for sure, they will chant on the following Smackdown 'You deserve it' etc. The moment itself will be devalued because of The Rock vs Roman and Roman beating another record.

I'm sick and tired of people with this who's the head of the table script we all know the rock is the real head of the table in the WWE and outside of the WWE even when Roman wins the rock is still going to be number one. And I think it's stupid that they keep the belt on him just to break Hulk Hogan's record so that's the excuse to keep it on them really. For me Cody needs to beat Roman for the title because Roman is really becoming boring and he really doesn't be there much the title was never there really he never defended on regular TV what's the point of keeping this guy champion. I think the reaction is a microcosm of where society is nowadays. We’ve lost the ability to disagree. Everything is absolute now: you’re red or blue, team this or team that. And so many have lost the ability to just say “I don’t agree with this” without it becoming a personal attack. I’m not against the rock nor the match with Roman. I disliked what I felt was a lazily written solution to Punk’s injury. To me it just feels like WWE still don’t really trust their roster. They still after 20 years seem incapable of having a Main event scene without an attitude era guy, Brock/Cena or Orton. Trust in the amazing young talent you have to carry a big show! Cody, Roman, Seth and Drew will have absolutely no issues putting on a great Wrestlemania

The Bloodline story never ended. Sami and Jey are side characters. The Bloodline just lost it's momentum after Summer Slam. Roman is still the tribe chief. You cannot bring end to Roman Empire without Rock's involvement and the entire family turning on Roman. Once Cody win the title his story is finished. But that's not the same case for Roman. When he looses the title and his family the story progress to the next chapter. The chapter of Roman's redemption. It doesn't matter if you like Roman or not "Finishing the story" is more about The Bloodline and Roman then Cody. The Rock's involvement is more important for the Tribe to turn on Roman. So,stop crying and let the story play out.

Personally the rock should have stayed in Hollywood, this match would have been better about 3 years earlier, i do hope that there is a swerve coming otherwise it's just a middle finger to everyone who is invested in Cody's story. The rock doesn't need this match and apparently only got this match as part of his TKO deal. Don't get me wrong i like the rock but relying on the nostalgia factor to "save" mania is a vince move. WWE have full timers and for possibly their biggest match they turn to a part timer. But I guess we'll see what happens at the press conference on Thursday but i guarantee one set of fans aren't going to be happy

As a Cody Rhodes fan myself, I know that tko and the rock did Cody filthy not just because of what happened on SmackDown but because they made Cody look like a joke after losing to Roman reigns at Wrestlemania 39 and being laid next to a rubber chicken🐔

It can be Randy, but it's not satisfied like it's Roman (of course, Randy is a made man, he doesn't need this big victory, like Edge once said "I'm the made man, I don't need to end The Undertaker streak). And for me, what people are doing right now is the right thing we should do (not include the Ava thing anyway, but you shouldn't be stereotype that all fans are lame like that), because we are fan, so we have rights to speak, and we must speak because WWE treated us like stupid for several times in history. Why are fans acting like the Rhodes family is the only wrestling family that matters and deserves to finish the story? The Anoa'i Family has been active in the wrestling industry for longer and sacrificed far more.
