I remember seeing Rocky in Detroit years before he went to the WWF. He was super over and had great matches with the Sheik, Karl Kox, Thunderbolt Patterson, Bull Curry, the California Hell's Angels and others. He even held Detroit's version of the World Tag Team Champions with Ben Justice . Race was not an issue. His dynamic exciting style was loved by everyone.

How wonder how happy Rocky is now looking down at his Son, the successful and the awesome and legendary and the entertaining Dwayne Johnson
He was one of the main reasons I got hooked to Pro Wrestling. Sweet Ebony Diamond was red hot!!! Along with Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Jay Youngblood, Wahoo McDaniel,Jimmy Snuka,Blackjack Mulligan, Masked Superstar and Jimmy Valiant.
Well deserved honor, was a big fan of Rocky when he would come to Memphis.
He paved the way....much respect...

I just wish he could’ve been a bigger star in the wwf. He had so much to offer than just being a tag team wrestler. I know he was a singles star in the 70s but he could’ve been a bigger singles star in 80s possibly a run with the ic title. But he got stuck with Tony and while they made history and had success, Tony kinda fucked up that deal which is why they lost the tiles earlier than they should have.
We long endured racial slurs as people of color here I thought it was only South African apartheid but thanks for standing up and making history RIP Rocky Johnson

@@lashaunashine6315 News broke that poppa was a rolling stone. Apparently Rocky Johnson had several kids across Canada. The Rock have many brothers & sisters that he was never aware of.
