I rewatched the entire series for the 3rd time before watching and to me El Camino seemed unauthentic. Fat Todd and the color grading ruined it for me personally. I feel like Vince also did this movie to give Aaron his spotlight. Him being a sidekick in Breaking Bad kind of hindered his ability to be taken seriously in other projects. He said in the commentary that "you're a movie star man" just really high praise of Aaron.

@Big Boss it's actually technically a neo-western. That is, that it deals with a lot of themes and storylines and characters that are reminiscent of those of old Western movies, but they're set in a modern setting. Other examples of the neo-western genre include No Country for Old Men, Hell or High Water, Wind River, and Logan (yes, the wolverine movie).

The whole movie is about Jesse trying to let go of and stop dwelling on his past (moving backwards) and start fresh (moving forward). The fact that Jesse doesn’t answer alludes to his state of mind at the time. He feels trapped in his current state.

The amount of work involved to get some of these shots is unbelievable. All for about 30 seconds of screen time. It’s crazy.
