The River Blackwater - Targeting Chub on small rivers.
This session was a bit of a blast from the past. I used to fish the Blackwater a lot a fair few years ago so thought it about time I headed back to give it a go.
Sadly the river was not in great shape, choked with weed and reeds, fallen trees all over the place, was quite sad to see.
But I still managed to find a few fishable stretches on the 3 beats I fished and managed a fair few fish.
Join me a few very enjoyable if not a little frustrating hours on the bank.

Good opportunistic angling there buddy. See fish = catch fish. I was thinking of joining HWAS for their river section but will give it a miss now. I already have the FAS ticket so don;t think this would add much. Take care.

Cheers. I’m unsure who is responsible for the upkeep of the river, council or HWAS but either way it’s in a state. Still some good fish there but it shows how bad it is on 3 stretches and on a Saturday I was the only one there fishing. Thanks for watching
13 mins 16 sec that spot I know some one who had a 11 pound orange koi from that but by the bridge in all the snags

They are there is loads in there I’ve got loads off spots could show u one day I u want
I fish that spot a lot what fish have u caught out off there and off what size I’ve had some nice chub and lost pike on spam whilst fishing for chub

I have only fished it twice mate. Once was many many years ago and this time. So that Chub was the biggest I had but did see bigger in there.
