First River session - The River Wey - Somerset Bridge - Farnham Angling
On this trip, I headed to the river Wey for my first river session of the season.
And as this was the day after the season opened I was sure it was going to be rammed, but it was just me on the beat, perfect.
Conditions were horrendous, hot, muggy, high air pressure, well that’s the excuses done….
It was a fantastic day, not a huge amount of fish but I did catch and was just brilliant to be back on the bank after a short break.

Good for you opening up and you are not alone. Fishing, walking and any exercise are all great ways of unwinding and letting you have free up done headspace. Keep up the good work and hope your situation continues to improve.

I can see where they may hide too. It’s a lovely stretch, but the weather was awful. I’ll definitely have another go later in the year

What s great sight. Do you think the barbel are breeding there, or has it been stocked. I guess you are looking forward to the spring and a bit of warmth. 😅

I’m hoping there is a breeding population in the Wey but I’m not sure. I must admit I normally love my winter fishing, but it is bloody cold at the moment 😂. Should be out next weekend. Maybe back on the Wey.
Nice locations on Farnham ticket have you always managed to get swims weekends?

I never had any problems. But I never fished the Yately complex bar the river blackwater. There are some great waters.
