That’s realistic in their world as well, there’s a reason why magic casters need the highest intelligence stats and why magic isn’t for “everybody” as most lack the IQ for it. So I am glad players with lacking knowledge of magic get punished. I had 0 magic knowledge when I played baldurs gate but I had a “feeling” of what spells did what and how to use them accordingly so this issue never happened once. Even when I use gust 💨 on an enemy path to throw them down pathways alongside my allies I ensure that their saving throw chance is high enough to resist the gust that blows off the mobs.

That why it’s called turn base game. Your preference is more of Diablo games. Learning curve of this game is high, but after you understand the mechanics then it’s more enjoyable.

They're in a spider cave underneath a village overrun by goblins. I've been there, and the place is quite terrifying. Also, those are phase spiders - so having a chasm between you and them won't do squat. Learned that the hard way :-D

i thought the same. The combat is actually really enjoyable and makes you think a bit before your moves. You shouldn't let that dissuade you from getting the #1 rated pc game of all time. Its up there with my favorite games of all time. RDR2, The Witcher 3, The last of us. This game has over 170 hours of cutscenes... the amount of effort and passion put into this game shows.
