Wambach is a true champion like no other. She showed a lot of class and grace in her defeat. She was the only American to congratulate the Japanese players when the final whistle blew. Much props to her legacy and congrats to the ultimate underdog story for the ages, Japan! Yall deserve the win indeed.

What kind of magic spell was casted that this amazing sports anime became reality. Even Wambach with almost unbeatable skills cant put tenacious Japan down and shows great character in the end.
When I want to be inspired, I always watch the 2011 Women's WC Japan. Amazing Players.

2011 was a year of underdogs. Copa America was won by Uruguay after all the favorites failed to make the semifinals.
