Reduced to it's basic elements, this is an assault directed against a political figure. I think the assailant should, at a minimum, receive & serve a jail term. I would support an enhancement if the assault victim is a campaigning political figure. As Mr. Farage commented afterwards, "what if it was a caustic substance or frozen?" When Democratic mis-Governor Gavin Newsome was facing a recall election, his chief opponent was Larry Elder, a black Republican. While on campaign, Mr. Elder was regularly harrased by a political agitator dressed in a gorilla suit, grunting at him gorilla fashion while pelting him with eggs. Racist? These aren't schoolboy pranks. These acts constitute a Marxist Left terror attack against our society. They should be treated with the concern they deserve.
