I doubt it. Sauron is supposed to show up as the Giver of Gifts, which is not a Halbrand trait. He's a fascinating red herring.

@@robertbonfante5991 They don't have the rights to the Silmarillion or the Unfinished Tales, in the Appendices, all was said Sauron befriended the elves so they could heal their lands and the desolation lands together with their crafting. He's the only character that fits.

@@thethessaliahPossible spoiler warning!!! That is a fair argument, and I won't argue it. But from what I have read (in interviews with the showrunners and directors), my money is on Sauron is being kept under wraps until at least season 2. I think Halbrand is going to become one of the Nine.

I wish I had a friend as loyal, honorable, strong hearted, and caring as Durin IV. His friendship with Elrond is one of the best friendships I have ever seen in my life. And the aftermath of Mount Doom’s eruption is so horrifying to watch. It was both the horror of a terrorist attack and a devastating natural disaster fused into one massive nightmare.

@GL Fer I think one of the big problems is that they are treating this season FAR TOO MUCH as a setup season. They heard they were guaranteed 5 seasons and they thought that would give them more space and time to move around in. Half the stories are told VERY well but the other half are paced far too slowly.

I'd agree on Durin being the best character. Him and Elrond's relationship is similar to that of Legolas and Gimli's without being identical, which it would've been so easy to do. After that I'd include Elrond himself, Elendil and Pharazon.

That damn leaf revealed to the Balroc that there was now an opening to the outside world.

“Would you hand a kid you didn’t know a gun?” Most common mistake I see is comparing our time and rules NOW to shows taking places in other worlds at other times.

Saubrand gonna meet Celebrimbor and discuss possible jewelry making business ventures in the future, maybe forge a couple of rings🤷‍♂

My fav character by far I Durin, and I'm so on board with everything with Elrond and Durin's relationship. Damn they had me in tears several time during this episode. I like this show so far, but I'm also agree with those who says it's not yet came to satisfying conclusion.

I'm Certainly Sure That Galadriel's Husband Celeborn Is Not Dead. She Never Said That She Saw Her Husband's Dead Body, She Just Said She Never Met Him Again And I Believe Galadriel Reuniting With Celeborn Will Be A Major Moment In The Later Seasons Of The Show. Perhaps It Might Be Celeborn Who Will Convince Galadriel To Stop Fighting Anymore And Transition Her Into The Galadriel We See In The Hobbit And LOTR. In Addition To That Galadriel Might Also Put Up Her Sword Since She Got Her Husband Back And One Person That She Used To Love Is Still Alive, This Might Also Help To Cool Her Anger...

He survives beyond the destruction of the One Ring in both the books and movies. It's safe to assume he's alive in The Rings of Power.

For the opening scene, the DP said that nothing was digital (all practical) except for the fire (flames) because of course it was dangerous. They reconstructed the entire village indoors to pull it off. Also this is not the middle of the season but the penultimate episode (Finale next week) ;)

Who cares the whole show is boring

The durin and elrond stuff is amazing

“If anything is digital here, it looks really really good” That got me thinking, how much would it actually cost to trigger an eruption in the way that the orcs did? Obviously that wasn’t an irl eruption, but assuming the perfect circumstances (nearby reservoir of water, magma chamber close enough to the surface to erupt but deep enough so you could dig above it and have water flow down from ground level, etc.) would it really be that expensive to engineer an eruption irl?

One amazing thing about khazad doom is that Ori and Balin 2 dwarves from the hobbit movies are trapped in the room and Ori was the one writing in the book Gandalf was reading that the fellowship of the rings went through Moria and then you know “YOU SHALL NOT PASS”

Well, I don't think so, because they are in the south and the Shire is to the northwest. This could, however, be the beggining of the River Folk, which was Sméagol's "race". I could be completely wrong, though.

It's ridiculous that Galadriel husband was never mentioned in 6 episodes. He is kind of a big deal in her story.

I've said this before and I'll say it again... This was the most profound episode of the series so far. The dialogue was gorgeous and the character arcs so immensely impacted. Love this shit

22:20 Ironically it's the opposite for me. I lost any emotion connection to House of the Dragon with the 2nd time jump (Ep 6). I just started to care about Rhanysis starting to be cool, and now she is just another shitty selfish asshole like all the other characters on that show. I genuinely don't like ANY character on that show and I just want bad things to happen to all of them. So I have no capacity to empathize or care about anyone on that show, their all trash people, so it's wooden and boring to me. Now this (and Andor) are my current favorites. (And yes, Durin and Harfoot girl are my favorites too)

I am amaze. The ring of power is setting the benchmark. Seriously eps 7 was outstanding.

The Harfoot talk a good game, but all we have seen of them shows the opposite. They wanted to leave behind Nori and the other Harfoot's to die, they then even brought up sabotaging their wagon. They hate the stranger he saves them, then they want more help he tries to help, and they don't even give him space. Then a branch breaks and oh noes! So again they want him gone and send the Stranger with an apple and a crappy map on his way. Finally, after the nonsensical true to each other speech the psycho wife tells the village leader to help, and he is like "why can't you ever be wrong" (or something along those lines) when she clearly had been wrong over and over. Then they split up including the leader of the group, who abandons the rest of the group. It is all contradictory and confused writing and character motivations.

I think she just became consumed by revenge and it caused a rift between them. She is kind of being humbled a bit now, so I hope that this creates the change in her that we see in LOTR and then gets them back together.

@@deankent228 Dude, how do you hide that fact? She needs help getting on a horse, leading her on a long journey, or just about anything. It just wasn't a necessary line. It did NOTHING for her char or the storyline to hide being blinded. Just made viewers cringe with awkwardness.

That lady sam conveniently left that bucket in the river so hat it reaches to lady slim shady. And by the way the bucket body ratio is exactly the same as of lady sam and lady slim shady. But lady slim shady is twice the height of harfoots.

"And how did Galadriel live, and yet Celeborn did not, so wise a elf as he was, and only cringes to withstand him?" Galadriel flushed and forgot her Karen. "The wisest elf may be slain by one cringe," she said; "but Celeborn was pierced by many."

Elendil literally gave that speech about the horse and soul partner just before the volcanic eruption and magically the horse become his true soul partner in this episode when they had hardly spent an hour together.

its the writing, thats the issue, super thin characterization, conveniences, generic plot developments and interactions and the dialogue focuses too much on sounding thespian 100% of the time and not enough on authentic back and forths

Celeborn will likely appear in season 2. In fact, I thought I read somewhere that he would.

Balrog gets awakened in the third age not in the second age. And he gets awakened because of sound of the burning leaf... Come On.

Per google: The Second Age has no record of any active Balrogs, but that doesn't mean there weren't any around. There's also no firm record of how many Balrogs existed, but there may have been up to seven or more.

It's again the sloppy writing because we have seen the number of orcs frame by frame. And your 300 numenorean boy bands with horses let them live but certainly that's not been shown. It's bad direction and writing at the same time and also there was hardly any evidence of settlements in nearby areas.

@@sidavs09 orcs escaped the downfall of sauron in the third age, they survived the defeat of Morgoth, and they survived being hunted by elves for centuries but you're complaining because a couple dozen escaped from guys on horses!? There are plenty of legitimate criticisms you can level at the show including some of the writing. But honestly you're complaints just sound like an ignorant child complaining that the story isn't going exactly how THEY think it should go. There's literally thousands of other entertainment options for you to enjoy, maybe go watch them instead of coming on to reactors videos just to post dozens of comments complaining.
