The Riftbreaker: Making the Final Battle of the Brutal Campaign look easy!

At a certain point, you start to outpace the difficulty level that you picked for this game. The "Brutal" difficulty honestly isn't that brutal in Campaign. It definitely makes Survival mode a lot harder, but in Campaign the difficulty is only slightly increased, mainly because it just makes events happen more frequently. Also, this game is very easy if you play it patiently, and if you watch my guide on making unlimited resources: • The Riftbreaker: Get U...
Today, I'm showing off the excessively overpowered base that I made, which can basically finish the final battle without my help. Enjoy the fireworks!
I also touch on an important note in the video. If you want to enjoy the final battle as much as possible, I highly recommend removing (or just disconnecting) anything you have outside of your walls surrounding your headquarters. Trim the base down to only what's necessary. If you notice your game freezes a tiny bit (even a couple frames) when you disconnect a few things, that's a sign that it can get really bad during the final battle. The headquarters needs to be clean, so leave the mess in your outposts instead. Hopefully they'll keep patching the game until this isn't an issue anymore.

Wonderful base - love the symmetry and order. Will have to reorganize mine. Thanks for a great video. Would like to see your other resource areas and how you have those set up.

The final battle was way too easy. I expected attacks from all sides and massive ones. But instead the enemies didnt even reach my walls.

I overbuilt massively, cleared the whole map and fenced it all. Took like 30 hours and the end battle was a breeze.

I really want to see a multiplayer mode of this game where one player has to go to other biomes to gather resources and the other one has to use those resources to defend the base! Imagine the level of co-op required to get this level of a defense system with two people working together!

4:40 early in the game, one of the recon maps has a low danger rating. So that's an ideal place for science, armories & material/ammo storage. This frees up space in your base for more power and chip labs. Also, I build sacrificial walls - one layer thick about 6 spaces away from my main base. It gives me some breathing room.

yeah the power was weird, i noticed it didnt like to make too many node that connect to other nodes that are already powered, like it formed a node tree instead, so when one node breaks, it separates the tree in to 2 trees every time. but i didnt see any consistency because there were some that were joined more than once. but not like in factorio where power lines attach to any other around them, instead this just picks one that is closest. good game though, sometimes the basic factory mechanics makes it easier to focus on the combat and not so much on the math... or pipe pressure, hehe. gg

It is a fun little game...I finished the campaign before upgrading everything.Think I was at HQ 4 or 5 and the final battle was rough. Seems like turtleing to max out everything trivializes the end game but if they tweaked it I don't think I would have been able to beat it that early. I think they tried to optimize the difficulty so as not to require maxing everything and min/maxing your play style. Guess you can't satisfy everyone.

cleared a campaign on hard mode the other day. I waaaaaaaaaaay overprepared my defences. I had already put defensive lines all across all edges of the map, but most of those weren't anything too crazy, and quite a bit was a bit outdated using earlier-game tech. it was fine for the occasional random attack wave though. for the last battle I put 2 fusion reactors in the middle of the map, surrounded it with a decently sized square wall, triple layered (laser type) and I had shield generators everywhere. plus countless turrets of all kinds of different types. I also had a stupid number of long-range artillery set up. the final battle was basically just 100 seconds of me not really noticing anything more severe than a regular attack wave. not a single primary line was breached. my true fortification was completely pointless ... oh well. easy game easy life

It will tell you what you need to build on and around it. Pay attention to the upkeep needs of the rift station, don't conflate them with the initial powerup needs of it like I did. I over built massively.
