Here is a thermal stress test for a VW Passat b3 Hella headlight with The Triplet Halogen h4, (Syncrovention).
One hour of operation with 3 halogen h4 bubs, 55w x 3=165w, without the cooling fan, the crystal lens covered by transparent adhesive tape and an aluminum ring, stationary on the bench.
It is sprayed with liquid, glass, soap and water many times.
Result: No problem at all.
