How was it a mistake by the ref? At the time there was no specific rule to disallow it and the ref is seen as an equal part of the field of play. He couldn’t disallow it in absence of an allowing rule and as part of the field of play he’s not seen as an outside agent therefore there is no potential argument to disallow it that way
@Baguenaudeur

Also that whole "they lost the title because of this" argument is absurdly dumb. That game wasn't the last one of the season, they had plenty of other games to make up for it (especially against Galatasaray, but they failed to beat them the 2 times they faced) so it's on them and no one else.

In Brazil we had a club's massagist clearing a goal at the 89th minute of a round of 16 match for our 4th division. We also had a game that ended 0.5 x 0, because the shot was so potent the ball opened. The goalkeeper defended a shot and held the ball, but the shot was so strong that the inner tube of air escaped from the leather lining (it was the 50's). The goalkeeper ended up holding only the lining, while the inner tube entered the goal. The referee then decided it was half a goal, so the game ended half to zero.

If you're scrolling these comments wondering: "Wth happened here? Why is there a debate on soccer / football." Well I'll explain. Hundreds of americans were spamming the comments with "It's soccer" NONSTOP. Now the inverse is happening, where people are arguing why football makes more sense. The origins of football date back centuries, with various forms of ball games played across many cultures. The rules of modern football, also known as "association football," were first established in England. The Football Association defined these rules in 1863, aiming to unify the various ball games played under different rules into one standardized format. The term "football" originates from the combination of the English words "foot" and "ball," essentially meaning a game played with a ball using feet. Most non-English names for the sport are derived from this term (except for Italian "calcio"). By the late 19th century, as the British spread the game internationally, football gained global popularity. In the United States and Canada, the game is known as "soccer." This term comes from a shortening of "association football," with "assoc" evolving into "soc," to which "-er" was added. This naming was used to distinguish it from American football, which was already popular in North America.

American football is adapted from rugby. The term “football” was used as a name/descriptor for any sport that involves playing with the foot in the middle ages. So when American created this new game, adapted from several other games (all with some derivative of the name football) Americans coined the term “Assaociation Football” which is actually a lot closer related to soccer than rugby. In the 1870s, some colleges got together to form their own version that was more based around rugby. Older American football involved a lot more kicking as well as martial action. But since then, rules and guidelines has dwindled the harsher nature of the game, as well as putting a further emphasis on throwing and catching. Ig there was no need to change the name, it was already there.
what is the goal of these bots 💀
i know it doesnt correlate to the sunflowers but him going "this is not complicated" and zooming out to like 10 functions is really funny
Bro REALLY wanted that 200 dollars
The kingdom of Britain came up with a name, soccer to distinguish rugby football, and soccer football, During that time period in which England called it soccer America had made their own version of rugby and called football when everybody switched back to calling it football and rugby. America was left with a dilemma so they stayed calling it soccer.

Do you realize that it was the British that came up with that name? I'm worried more about the poor quality of American football than anything.

"I don't want to belittle any coun..." "AMERICANS HAVE RUINED THE USE OF ENGLISH AND IT'S APPLICATION." Yeah, nice try, buddy. All your comment has done is make me want to call it "soccer" exclusively. Even in another language. Next time I talk with some of my Latin friends about the World Cup, it'll be "esocér" left right and center. I take great pity on you fine folk from the freedomless country of Europe. Can't even buy basic necessities like an 19-11, Deser Eagle, or AK, so sad, :(

100% agree Americans be stoopid but also the Australian national team is called the "Socceroos", we call NRL or AFL football, not soccer, so maybe scratch Australia off the list

That referee is perfect for vardird
why is no one talking about the fact that the map gave turkey extra lands from greece
Nestor Pitana in 2021: Hold my assist
This goal will never be scored again. Hey where is my nearest soccer stadium
Fair play to Aaron Hunt man went from chilling with simple Simon and Luke Bennett to kicking ball with Wayne Rooney round his gaff genuinely sounds like a geeza aswell
The Ref Has More Goals Than Anthony This Season😂
he couldn't find the clip so animated it 🤣
No way that costed them the title 💀 talk about referees doing you over
Back in the days when the referee was counted as part of the pitch as opposed to a foreign body. But of course this happened in Turkey.
I love the way he pronounces ankaragucu 😂😂
