Why did Rockstar Games never make Undead Nightmare for Red Dead Redemption 2 as a DLC.
Undead Nightmare was an incredible DLC for Red Dead Redemption, and today we look at why we never got a sequel. Undead Nightmare 2.

Undead nightmare Is not canon, so saying Arthurs story is "too good" is not a valid excuse imo
I still think they could’ve delivered had they not been so greedy due to GTAV - but they’ve shown that time and time again. They’re a large and wealthy company that could easily do whatever they choose to. They didn’t even need to do Arthur - they could’ve used another character with that map. Not even a DLC non-zombie related. Hardly any focus with online (not that I even like online). As much as I like this company, they make me hate them at the same time with their ‘choices’. Thanks for the great video as always Phil.
Would have been cool, but I think like you said they may have thought it didn't fit with the base game.👍

You know I played GTA online on my PS3 for like 2 hours and never touched it again. I seriously have NO idea who is still playing that or more so buying things in that crap 12 years later.

Servers shutdown a few years ago on Dec 16th for PS3 GTA Online. Once the final date of migration for accounts to move to the next generation, they just threw everyone in bad behavior lobbies plagued with modders and it became a hell hole. So you didn’t miss much haha.
I actually have a theory that undead nightmare is John marston's purgatory, and if red dead redemption 2 got a dlc, it could have been Arthur Morgan's purgatory
I think the devs explained before why they couldnt give RDR a complete overhaul like the other older games. The coding involved in just making RDR work was such a dogs breakfast that they were surprised it worked so well in the first place. To get it to a remastered state would take years and years and a lot of manpower, because they'd pretty much have to make the game again from the ground up. It sucks, but i also understand not wasting that much time on a full remaster.
I think they didnt want to mess with the story. I think also things that happened to the company behind the scenes played a role. Then GTA online is very popular so its just smart business to get that money.
I think the answer to this question really just has to do with the ROI here. While i would totally be one to buy and play that DLC, there just aren't enough of us to justify the immense cost and production value it would take for a game this big. Rockstar exists to make money, and if they thought this was a lucrative endeavor they would have.
Nothing is impossible,gracias Boss
It's all I wanted.
Arthur's' story was so good, it would feel weird.

Yeah, I think that was a main concern of Rockstar
Its fine because i just got off the phone with rockstar and they said undead nightmare 2 is coming next month
They still will. I know it sounds crazy but their whole excuse for abandoning Rdr:online was because of the development of gta 6 and still having to maintain gta online at the same time. I’m 110% positive they’ll release a ps5 version of rdr2 with the “quality” and “performance” modes that gta 5 for ps5 had. It’d ultimately be better for the game since they pushed the limits for rdr2 on ps4 and Xbox one. And like gta 5, rdr2 is undoubtedly gonna be rereleased before we ever get an rdr3. An undead nightmare dlc is too good to pass up and it would generate even more money, if not more than the original. Edit: remember gta 5 was released for ps3 and 360. Rdr2 was released for ps4. Don’t be surprised if we get a ps5 rdr2.
I think it's simply that. I don't think Rockstar is going to put out big DLCs like this anymore. How most of the gaming industry is moving away from DLCs in favor of battle passes, seasons, or just beating a dead horse like GTA online. And I hate to say it but it makes sense. GTA v is one of the most profitable games in the history of gaming. I believe right behind Minecraft, Tetris and fortnite. There's no reason to make a big DLC see if you can spoon feed content and make double the money. Personally I think the future of Rockstar games relies on GTA VI. Red dead redemption 2 was a complete masterpiece 10 out of 10. But you can tell by how quickly they killed Red Dead online that it just didn't make enough money to prioritize it over GTA online. I think GTA v is going to be a pinnacle moment in the future of gaming depending on what systems it uses and how good it is.
isnt agnes dowd the ghost of the bayou?
If there was one dlc you could add to rdr2 what would it be??

Cowboys vs Aliens for sure. It would make more sense than Undead Nightmare 2 and would have fit in with the world better.

I'm glad we never got to play it. Undead Nightmare was great, and another might've been too, but we've seen it before. I'd much rather have had a unique DLC, not even necessarily supernatural in theme, instead of a rehash. Like one set in Mexico.
